Just Shazam'ed this, awesome! Does anyone understand the actual meaning of the story they are telling in the song?
I understand the words, I just don't understand the overall message 😬
I feel like it’s a person who is feeling that perhaps a love may be leaving, but she doesn’t want it to. She has memories of the best of the love: when he shook her endlessly, which I believe is referring to sex. She’s never struggled being on her own, but she feels like she might struggle now without him because it was so good. She also hints at the fact that he doesn’t care if she leaves: She infers that when she leaves, he “keeps on acting sweet.” In other words, he doesn’t seem to get upset, even if she leaves, which makes her unhappy: She WANTS him to get upset, because then it would show that he LOVES her and MISSES her. Instead, he seems to just shrug his shoulders, and is like: “You win some, you lose some.” In other words: He seems completely content, whether she stays or goes. That’s why he “keeps acting sweet.” She’s like: “FINE: YOU CAN KEEP ON ACTING SWEET, SEE IF I CARE!!!!!” Obviously, she delivers her words with a lot of sweetness. This is my interpretation, I may be way wrong. Peace.

I'm blown away by this band. They just keep getting better and Persephone is my fav track to date. What impresses me the most is that they genuinely understand songwriting. And they collaborate! That just makes their finished product all the more rare. Hats off to their engineer and Producer. Full, clean, tight sound. Christie's vocals when singing live have some maturing to do as far as pitch and control go (their recordings are a lot to live up to), but she has a really sweet sound. I'm confident she'll get there and we'll continue to see amazing things from them for years to come.

I feel sorry for people who haven’t discovered this band. It meshes all of the best components of every 80’s band I have loved. New Order, Depeche, Cure, Propaganda…etc. Then modernizes it. Brilliant and Christie is simply pitch perfect.
I can already see myself this winter blasting this album going down the highway with snow falling and layered up in sweater and leather.
