  • In this tutorial video, I'll guide you through the process of colorizing a LAS point cloud into RGB using QGIS, LASTools, and Cloud Compare. It's important to note that, while LASTools is open-source, some commercial features like lascolor may require licensing. I recommend checking LASTools' license.txt or reaching out to them for clarification, especially if you plan to use these features commercially.
The example in the video involves working with a LAS dataset and an orthophoto TIFF that are not precisely georeferenced but have different coordinate reference systems (CRS). To colorize the LAS data using the RGB information from the orthophoto, we'll start by reprojecting the raster TIFF. Then, we'll utilize lascolor for the colorization process.
For a detailed walkthrough, you can watch the entire video. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask!
