- Ah, the Leg Tuck. This is the event that caused the most failures during the Army's testing of the ACFT. Will it cause your failure? Listen to Doug and Christian to ensure that you won't be on your 1SG's shit list.

There's the right way, the wrong way, and the Army way.
The Army finally catch on to those individuals who play by the print because of their reading comprehension.
Hands must be no more than a fist length apart; just finished the NCOIC grader course.
Seth heath you beat me to it
Just finished 21 Jan for level 2. Still hands must be only fist width apart AND thumbs must wrap around bar.
I've seen a few different movements. Do your knees simply have to touch your elbows, or do you have to do a partial pullup and then touch your knees and return to a deadhang each time?
Right way, wrong way and Army way. Looks like Army catch on to a lot of individual whose reading comprehensive had helping them in the APFT for years.
@@SM-tn8mn there has to be flexion in the elbows is all that it states. So as long as there is a slight bend you are good.
IMHO, the hardest event.
Nahhhhhhhh spint drag carry that sled is terrible
You can plank for 2 minutes as a substitute for now
@@murasakiiro447 that’s a lot harder lmao especially just for 60 points fuck that
My left shoulder hurts after leg tucks regardless of which hand is in the front. I do 9 to 10 leg tucks. And I have to bring my legs all the way up. Any advice? And I have no shoulder issues after I do chin ups. I can do 10 to 11 proper chin ups.
Why am i not surprised that what started as a good idea (the ACFT), we have managed to ROYALLY fuck up. Hooah.
You guys are awesome here we are doing a diagnostic here soon. I’m pitching a tented are fun and there all day
I just did more pull ups... I went from 10 to 15
I way prefer these to sit ups. My hip flexors kill on those and my swayback dont help none. I can do 20 on these, can't get max sit ups though.
Some one had to say it. I do CrossFit, mind you a more garage gym version, but yeah this is basically a CrossFit comp lol
Hands width apart there yew!
Square, liked video !
Hand placement cannot be more than your grader's fist width apart.
Not true
Starting position
On the command “GET SET,” one Soldier from each lane will mount the bar and assume a straight-arm hang on the bar, with feet off the ground, knees bent if necessary. Graders may assist Soldiers up onto the bar. The grip is the alternating grip (recommend placing the dominant hand closest to the head). The body is perpendicular with the bar, however the alternating grip will cause the body to rotate outward slightly. The Soldier’s body must be fully extended in a straight arm position (elbows, trunk, and hips are straight). Legs and feet may not be crossed; feet must be off the ground with knees bent if necessary.
Steven Shaffer from the OCT 2019 IOC: Preparatoryphase:onthecommand“GETSET,”theSoldierwillassumeastraight-armhangon the bar, with feet off the ground, knees bent if necessary. The grip is the Alternating Grip with hands no more than a fist’s width apart - as measured by the grader. The body is positioned perpendicular to the bar. The Soldier’s elbows, body and legs are straight. Legs and feet are not crossed. Feet cannot contact the ground or the climbing bar.
@@ShafferSteven144 It is in fact true... But I understand the confusion. The ACFT has been a moving target since its inception. I don't remain convinced that we've seen the last of the changes.
@@ShafferSteven144 I just finished the ACFT NCOIC course last week. It's fist width. Just changed it.
Army 5 reps is 70%. 20 reps is 100% makes sense
The promotion points scale is set to give you increasingly more points for more reps. 5 reps worth 70% and 5 points, 20 worth 100% but 20 points.
Its fair where it counts.
Would have been nice to see a more serious demo, but A for AFFORT
I shot footage of Christian making it look childishly easy, but I figured that would best left to the imagination.
I find this one easy as fuck ??
So no pull up? Woohoo
