I am a private company worker and EPF member also. My EPF subscription has been stopped from april 2022. At the end of FY 2022-23, There has been an interest accrual of Rs. 60,000/- on employee's past contribution made till March 2022 and interest accrual of Rs. 35,000/- on employer's past contribution. In monthly PF statement, both these interest components ahve been shown as "Non-taxable". But my employer has reported Rs. 1,10,000/- as taxable income both in my Form 26AS and form AIS. As a result, I am liable to pay tax on this ammount. Please advise how the errors can be rectified.
Submit a feedback in AIS and give a application for rectification to your employer. When will file your return show it in Exempted income , chose Exempted income in TDS colum. If income tax send any demand after that then you can give clarification with this documents.
