Nick on Planet Ripple, I definetly agree, but Wreck-Gar and Groove are both sleek rides, they are just re-colored. Beautiful, just beautiful. Plus, I am a huge Transformers fan, aaaaaaand I am trying to get enough Autobots and Decepticons to make at least one Combiner for each faction. I prefer Devastator vs Volcanicus or Victorion vs Menasor!
@Baltmatrix Actually, there are a couple of slightly better options for accessory storage in alt mode... The one I personally prefer, requires a spare Dinobot Combiner hand piece, if you have one available. You then attach one on each side of his bike mode, by plugging them into the 5mm pegholes on the rear wheel, spikes end up, and fold the thumbs underneath. This gives the effect of a sort of Junkion Road Warrior look, while at the same time hiding the horrible looking back-end of the bike mode and filling it out. Then plug the flail weapon handle into the left hand peg and fold the blade part back towards the saddle bag. The flail storage is still the weakest aspect, but better than the "official" method... At least, in my opinion. The second way to store them, is to plug the hand piece into the back rear end of the bike mode. This has the basic effect of creating the illusion somewhat, that the bike is more sleek than clunky looking. Then take the flail, fold it over and plug it in on the hand, using the little "c" clamp, so that the collapsed flail overlaps the rear wheel on the right side. Actually doesn't look too bad, in all honesty, but either way, definitely an improvement. Hope the suggestion is helpful...
A question, a thought and a statement... --- How well does the Wreck-gar mold ride the Wreck-gar mold? --- In Motorcycle mode, behind the grey hip joint, in the crease between the first notch and the second, into tan leg. on both sides... If there were a peg hole here, this would be the perfect spot to store two of the PotP fists. with some imagination they could easily be seen as motorcycle saddle bags. --- If memory serves, in the 86 movie, The although red, the shape axe head Wreck-gar used looked similar enough. However the axe itself was a hand axe (short handled) not a pole axe. Simple solution, clip the axe cleanly just above the joint paint the blade red to keep it open and he should not only be able to hold it better but be more G1 accurate. You know if that's your thing.
The combiner hand accessory plugs in well into the back of wreck gar in vehicle mode. Almost looks like it belongs there. You can then attach the weapon in several different angles that work and look good.
Also not being funny, but it's 2018, if you have audio problems then please re-record the audio, don't let the quality of your videos suffer for the sake of quantity
the gaming rex, .... you don’t understand how Hasbro works do you?, they literally released a Titans return figure of repugnus some months back And even some of the new siege figures will be retools of titans return such as iron hide being the cup figure
Someone may have already mentioned it but the fan-mode of weapon storage is to attach the hand thing to the back and then the ax/exhast pipe to that, and it looks much better.
@@theturnedtable2605 I have the Studio Series Wreck-Gar. The figure is the best representation so far of the character (He even has his laser gun nipples).
I don't think Wreck-Gar really needs much remolding, in part because Wreck-Gar doesn't really have a very strong 'definitive' look to him, imo. All his toys tend to look pretty different from each other, as is most media interpretations.
I feel any alt mode can work, as long as it's got a strong enough 'junky' look to it, imo. Honestly I'd like to see more non-bike Junkions like Detritus. However, the front section is accurate to him, its technically the only thing consistent about his design. G1 Wreck-Gar had that kinda front and that turned into his head, and his head design with that windshield, headlight, and handlebars helmet is what we keep seeing when Wreck-Gar gets a new toy. Even the dirt bike RtS version gives him the tiniest of windshields just so that the head can continue to look like it transforms from the front of the bike.
You know there is a really easy mod you can do if you want a more G1 looking legs. You remove the half wheel on his right leg, cut off the peg then glue them together so now you have one full wheel on his leg instead of two half wheels on both legs
I've been looking for him at brick and mortar stores in my area, but they're just now getting the Titans Return stuff in. Then again after seeing this review, I'm not sure I'm willing to pay the scalper's tax from any of the online retailers for yet another straight up Combiner Wars recycled figure.
OUTSTANDING REVIEW BALTMATRIX!!!!!!!!!!! I found out that Wreck-Gar's elbows are attached to the wrong arms, you can see it in your review when you compare him with Groove at 4:39. Hopefully switching them will make Transformation a little easier. Once again, thank you for a terrific video, and I hope you will dare to be stupid and do an updated video, showing the elbow switch. :D
Fold the weapon up and take the attachment that’s on a balljoint on the weapon and slide it on top of his hand on his right side. That’s how mine is displayed. Looks good as his exhaust also.
I don't really understand why folk harp so much on weapon storage like this. I really don't miss the days where losing a weapon meant that figure suddenly had a very noticeably incomplete alt mode. I'm honestly fine with just bolting the accessories on like that when I've got the toy put to a side in alt mode.
The c clip can actually be used to attach to alot. In robot mode attach it to the kickstand on the arm and it looks better as a weapon to me. In vehicle you can force it on the front wheel area and it (very loosely) looks like a gun thingy. I've managed to force it on the back to look like an exhaust pipe, but doing so will eventually break something. Ik I'm late but i hope that helps somebody.
I bought Wreck Gar toy today at Walgreens and its a great. Easy to transform unlike the Generations version. I don't care about combining the figure into a giant robot. Wreck Gar is great alone. Wish they gave him a proper weapon.
Didn't see this question anywhere, and I'm not planning on picking this guy up to replace the original owner of that axe...but would that clip fit on the kickstand on his other arm? From the video it looks close to same size as those clips/handlebars? Might help your long handle issue if so, sort of in an underslung way.
8:02 - Wreck-Gar GoBot "It's a fine figure. It's FINE. IT'S FFFINE." The moment I saw him wearing a motorcycle-hat I was just like, "Come ON!" Not the best packaging idea as I thought that was it until you fixed it, would have been a deal-killer for me. Still, he is Wreck-Gar, simple or not and Wreck-Gar is a fun character whether he's a bike or a garbage truck. Noting that, I was mad as hell that the garbage truck in The Last Knight wasn't him.
For an "exclusive" he seems to be available in abundance, it seems he'll be "Brainstorm of PotP". On the other hand, Novastar seems to be scarce (tfwiki claims she was relesed but I can't find her anywhere at reasonable price :( )
rather curious if the clip can be used to clip on the fingers or kickstand of maybe the front wheel but still rather curious why they didnt re purpose a better weapon
Maybe combine the axe with Defensor's weapons. But the spinblade/jigsaw will still be a bit small...like Defensor's weapons already have been so no new issue there. And I guess Inferno's combine mode will fit more colorwise. And you can also peg the Prime armor into the back of the bike (and maybe then still peg the axe into the thumb so it looks a bit like a lance).
I've always liked the axe from 2011. But here it doesn't really work. The 2011 figure was supposed to have it in vehicle mode, but here we have a remold of Groove. :P
