@@4030Gaming i actually mean the in-level map design lol. But yeah that's my impression from the first few levels (the jungle scene). From the alien dimension they're recycling the map from the Original KR so it's kind of losing that impression
While I enjoyed stage 1-6 stages 7-10 is just, 50 acolytes. And all of them end up feeling anticlimactic by the final wave. In comparison any stage from Origins feels both more creative and faster paced. And while the towers seem quite balanced this time around where are the fun towers from vengeance? When I unlocked the brewers I hoped I had unlocked a buffing tower like the berserker brew alchemist from bloons, but it's just a reskinned stone druid?
I felt the same way about act 2 at first, but by the later levels I was really enjoying it. And yeah, I'm worried the Brewmasters don't quite justify their purchase.
I really like this video. Very well spoken and well structured argument. I appreciate that you also do non voice over walk through as those are preferable.
Vengance is not the worst game in the series, I would say Ironhide just wanted to try something new and different. Then the feedback received from that game allowed them to tune up Aliance!! So realistically, clearly, it is not a bad game!!!!!
One thing people hated about vengeance was how reinforcements worked (crappy cooldown and rng based) but they changed that in alliance, i think depending on which path you choose, shadow archers have 100% uptime excluding the reinforcement cd upgrade
I just replayed all thr previous games. I would say that Vengance is the worst of the four. There are so many waves that are just... there. And you might gave killed every enemy and then send in like three little dudes. Which makes the ending for that level super anticlimactic. And for me the difficulty just felt off.

I have been looking up stuff about this game and the others in the franchise for about a week. This is the first kingdom rush video to be recommended on my feed.
You have a really clear and easy to follow voice and I happily sat through the whole video lol. I definitely think this game is a successful blend of the good parts of vengeance and the original 3 games. One thing I noticed though, was that all level four towers in Alliance have 2 abilities, while those in Vengeance all had 3. I think this is actually a good thing because the tower abilities in Alliance to me feel stronger, and also cost more. Overall I think this game is seriously so good and i lobe the strategy of controlling 2 heroes in an active way rather than letting the towers do everything with one hero AFK and a get out of jail rain of fire when things to bad. I can’t wait for future towers and heroes and especially the harder post-game levels. Maybe they could even throw in a DLC mini campaign of 5 levels like vengeance too 👍
Thanks for the kind words! I always love having more options, so I do kind of regret losing a third special ability on towers, but I know it makes things easier to balance when there's only two.
I’m very pleased with kingdom rush alliance. It has the gameplay and vibe that vengeance was supposed to have. Ironhide wanted to try something new with vengeance, and they didn’t do bad, but alliance just feels so right. I loved the main campaign and the hero system they have. Yes, it’s likely that some towers or heroes need a little balancing, but overall I enjoyed it. I think Ironhide is definitely on the right track with this game, I’m excited to see what they have to bring with future updates. My only drawback is how easy the boss fights were with vengeance, I think Ironhide did great with the bosses in this game, but definitely hoping they make boss fights more difficult and micro-manageable with future alliance updates
there were some game changing upgrades in earlier games. My favourite being archers deal max damage to unarmorred enemies in origins. But yes I would also like a version of KR so that each upgrade is meaningful to your gamestyle and there are more equivalent (up to taste or game style) choices in the tree. Still this game is a giant leap in the right direction.
by watching your review, I became aware that you can control heroes with 4 and 5, + reinforcements with 6. I wasn't aware of this before and you just turned my gameplays MUCH better (the way I was using before was pressing space two times if I wanted the second hero, and this was so confusing a lot of times). Very good review!
I would also say in regard to your point about the towers at 12:56, I agree that Ironhide hasn't made as much of an incentive to buy the other towers, as to me it feels like when on mobile asking for twice as much as the game costs for only 5 towers, dosn't seem to worth it. Now if there were more towers then yes I would consider it but I think what Ironhide should of actually done is give us more content then 16 levels from launch or even announce a new update that includes more then 1 new tower that is also released in this year and not next year. Even though the extra hero bundles says 66% off and the 5 extra towers are 49% off suposably, why are they so damn expensive!!!!
@@Qulize The gameplay is the same between steam and mobile is it not? It's just some towers and heroes needing to be purchased, which he did mention in the review where applicable.
I love that aartillery takes the spotlight for once, it’s almost always archers being OP. I disaggree with the multiple towers option being plausible though, especially when they don’t really seem to know how many different niches there is to fill, just towers upon towers released.
First time here, i really enjoyed the overview and indepth review that you had to offer. If this is your first voice over, then you should definitely keep doing it. Waiting for more alliance content.
I don’t say this ever and I’m not like an arbiter of youtube who decides what should be relevant and what not, but I genuinely see alot of potential in you also your voice is so calming and understandable.
Bro, i just checked your channel, you pumped like 3k+ videos only for kingdom rush content, you deserved early access copy from dev like no other. Hope your channel will bloom, good review and fine voice, keep it up, good luck. it would be good to keep on screen relevant tower/mechanic etc youre talking about to make it more clear and understandable, just my 2c from a guy who is doing presales for living.
One thing you can never say about Ironhide is that they just rehash games - that I sequel is just like the previous game but more of the same. They're always looking to iterate on the formula, which they did here with the two hero system, and I really appreciate it.
I think my only complaint was that the low level towers were way too weak almost to the point of insignificance. I get not wanting to have players just spam towers across the map. But by midway through the base game it felt like if you didn't immediately take a tower to level 3 when placed, it wasn't worth placing.
I find the goblin ballista to be a reliable fairly high damage tower. the stun on its basic attack pattern upgrade is realy nice, especially with the sheer amount of quite bulky flying enemies this game has. It opens up the opurtunity for the eldrich channeler to deal its full damage on them. Though i have yet to try them out on veteran or impossible. I first want to max out all the heroes
Cool review, thanks. It may sound strange, I believe Ironhide made such great TD games, it was going to be near on impossible to keep everyone happy. Personally, I enjoyed KRV and have enjoyed all Ironhead TD games. It also shouldn’t be forgotten, they are in business to make money, yet give all players the chance to win without paying for micro-transactions. Great games, awesome company who put love into their games.
@@4030GamingThis is an opinion from someone who strictly plays KR on mobile. I think they either should get rid of the 'deck' tower system or make all the towers unlockable. Ive been playing KR all the way back when it was a browser game amd didnt have heroes. When heroes were included, you get a few ones for free, and others are locked behind a paywall. Im fine with this because at least the heroes only feels like a bonus but the strategy remains because the towers are all available to utilize. Then vengeance comes and monetized towers as well and that, frankly, is disgusting.
They really hit the nail with the new mechanics introduced both in this game and in Vengeance. And the heroes👌 I liked Raelyn and Nyru so much, I just couldn't be bothered to check out anybody else until I started my Impossible replay.
Oh man, you need to check out the others. Don’t know if you’re on Steam or not and have them all, but I’m loving Anya, Warhead, and of course the dragons.
@@4030Gaming Yeah, that's kinda my point, (now I realize I forgot to mention it) but I do have the steam version. So even tho I own all heroes, the free ones satisfied me a lot. (And that's great news for mobile players)
So many comments! I remember when it was just me (or none at all). I suppose that people go wild for middle-aged men as well. Also, I read your blog. ♥ My only complaints about the game (for PC) are that the entire screen is not immediately viewable, Favourite Customer, and that there is no encyclopaedia. Excepting that, I think that the game is almost flawless.
I had no idea how well the video would be received. I'm not used to having to reply to 100 comments :) Thanks also for reading the blog. I enjoy doing it, but sometimes it feels like I'm shouting into the void. I found I could adjust the screen zoom with my mouse wheel, but it is annoying on the levels where it doesn't do it automatically.
Thank you very much! I was nervous putting this out there since I'd never done a voiced video before, so I'm blown away by all the encouraging feedback I'm getting.
Great video! Thank god you dont need to handle the heroes with the 4 and 5 buttons only. You can also use space. Press it one time, and u select your first hero. Press it 2 times and you select the second one :) Enjoy!
Hey another thing, if you wanted some feedback on the editing of the video, I thought of two things: 1. I would suggest adding some simple background music rather than (or in addition to) the gameplay sounds you have now. In my experience, it just makes the commentary even more delightful to listen to. 2. If you cut the footage every now and then between different levels, some where you use different towers, I think it would be more entertaining to watch. Just a new level to watch every minute or so would do a great deal for keeping people from clicking off (at least that's my guess) 3. When talking about a tower or an enemy or a level or anything from the game, it would be great if you put up a visual of that tower/enemy/level, so the viewer could remember what it was without having to recall it by name. 5 stars if you could show gameplay of the tower/enemy/level while talking about it! But great video anyway, and I look forward to seeing more from you!
Yeah, other people have commented on how basic the editing was. I would have liked to do some of the things you mentioned, but the bottom line was I ran out of time. I just barely had time to record the audio and throw in the walkthrough in the background before getting it out. I really wanted to publish it on the day of release, but I had only had access to the game for three weeks prior.
Interesting to see that Ironhide Studios has decided to include Two Heroes "starting with 5 Alliance"... and not sooner. I can think of 5 chinese game studios that let's you deploy 3 heroes , yes, THREE HEROES in this Tower Defense game style. One of them, the most prominent one, is Empire Warriors Tower Defense. Next is just a bunch of (four!) nameless games with "Tower" in their name.
Don't worry, Ironhide will release plenty more post-campaign levels in the future. We ended up with 36 levels in total for Vengeance, and I'm sure we'll end up with something like that for Alliance.
22:31 agree, just like i said on Charity live stream, and i quote - ("favorite customer" randomness is really bad, sometimes random is ok but implement it in money is a bad design decision, in KR gold - is a resourse wich you should use wisely cause on each level its limited, discounts are great because they stable, please take away random from gold economy and make 'favorite customer' a flat discount.) I really surprised this made it to realease.
From what I understand, it just allows enemies to be turned into skeletons when they die. I don't know why they added this, since it wasn't a requirement for the tower in Frontiers - enemies would turn into skeletons even if the tower never actually hit them itself as long as they died inside the tower's radius. Maybe they just felt the tower needed to be dialed back slightly by requiring it to hit enemies first.
@@4030Gaming I see, thanks. I thought enemies turning into skeletons was a passive effect after you killed them with the tower. So that totem just "widens" the scope of enemies being eligible to turn.
bro the game just released, why do you expect everything to be out already? no other kingdom rush game has released dlc’s until a little after the release
Just a suggestion, but I would have loved to see a bit of gameplay for each of the towers you talked about. I know that would've been more intensive in terms of content, clipping, and compiling, but I would have loved a visual representation for each. Just my two cents. Keep it up! Found you via algorithm btw.
Thanks for watching! I would have liked to do more in terms of editing more visuals in, but the release of the game coincided with the release of a major project at work, so it was all I could do to get this recorded and paste my walkthrough in the background. I really wanted to get it out on release day.
I'm currently publishing my Impossible Hero Challenge series where I'm doing every map in every mode with every hero on Impossible. On my blog I give each hero a grade for each map, then when the series is over I average all the grades to rank the heroes. I've done it already for Frontiers, Origins, and Vengeance. You can check out the entries here on my blog: 4030gaming.blogspot.com/ Right now I'm still in the early maps that are trivial with any hero, so there are no grades as yet. I publish the campaign, heroic, and iron modes for a given map each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday respectively.
I like the idea of it when I'm playing just for fun and RNG alters the difficulty a little bit, but when I'm trying to do walkthrough videos or my Impossible Hero Challenge, I like to give people strategies that will work consistently. I think I'm just going to leave that upgrade off when I start my Challenge series.
Personally I like that the system means towers function consistently from levels 1 to 4, as opposed to previous games where level 4 towers like the Tesla and DWAARP were completely different from levels 1-3. But I know that some people are just never going to get on board with the new system :)
You were well spoken in this review, but this is the first thing I've really watched about this game and I feel like it wasn't as informative as it should be. I think you should've waited a bit longer so you could properly assess the tower and hero balance. In any case, thanks for sharing your opinions.
I really wanted to have a day one review out for people trying to decide whether to buy the game, and I'd only had access to it for three weeks at that point. I'd like to do a follow-up review down the road once I have more experience with the game.
I agree. I didn’t hate vengeance, but it definitely was not as good as the first three. I’m excited iron hide listens to its fans and will definitely get this game once it goes down in price .
The issue I have with the towers in Vengeance is that you earn very little money from monsters so you can't have many towers on the map. I hope they have changed it in KR5 so you can make more of them.
It's pretty much the same kind of economy as Vengeance. I do miss the economy from the original Kingdom Rush, where they would throw insane waves at you like 30 Evil Treants and a dozen Swamp Things, and if you survived you'd earn a huge amount of gold to build a ton of towers to deal with even more insane waves.
I’ve experienced issues with bugs on mobile where sometimes towers will lock up and not work, or when then “call wave” button for wave 4, level 12 doesn’t pop up
My main issue is that in the last act there are so many flying enemies. I felt forced to use vesper because hes the only hero with an ability that can target air
I’ve seen lots of complaints about the flying enemies so far, and I agree they may have gone a little too heavy with them. Don’t forget that Nyru is a free hero and has a ranged attack as well.
@@4030Gaming I like using nyru and he helps against the flying enemies, but his ability only targets ground so I'm forced to use vesper as my second hero, even though I'd prefer grimson since he moves around the map fast
I feel the ballistas are really strong, they even have AoE damage, but their damage is more of a burst, so ive had troubles with flying enemies leaking, but besides that, its great on the front of the map or chokepoint
Depends on how badly you want the premium heroes and towers. They are a lot of fun, but the game is certainly still plenty of fun (and doable) with the free ones.
Wish they would bring back the old upgrade system, feels like towers have been neglected since Vengence. But I do like being able to buff heros as well.
@@4030Gaming Kingdom Rush has a lot of replay value for me. I've done runs using only one tower type for every game and I value the incremental gains you get when you have a tech tree that focuses on a specific tower type. Instead of one all encompassing tree which might only have one or two upgrades for a specific tower.
I did like the fact there used to be separate trees for each of the four tower types, but like I said in the review, most of those upgrades were wasted on passive stat bonuses.
Asra is one of the most OP heroes in the entire series! WTF are you talking about? She has a (quasi-)Instakill, ranged attack, magic attack, teleports and even the toxic rain is pretty decent. I struggled to name a more OP non premium hero...
Gerald, Alric, and Bruxa would like to have a word with you... Seriously though, Asra is the best of the free heroes in Vengeance, but the DPS on her basic attack is pretty low. But yes, Teleport + Spider Bite is a powerful combo to be sure.
I have a bad feeling that’s a relic of the past now, since they never got around to doing it for Vengeance. Vengeance is getting a new update this year though, so who knows, maybe we still will. I think it’s something the fan base almost universally wants.
If you're a fan of the series, absolutely. If you've never played a Kingdom Rush game before and aren't sure if you would like it, maybe get one of the older games like Frontiers that will be a little cheaper and try it out.
😂. One thing you can do is wait to kill them close to the exit. Like other KR games, enemy special abilities don't work close to the exit, so they won't spawn the Glarelings when killed.
I feel like they're the unholy child of the Dark Spitters from Origins and the Saurian Deathcoils from Frontiers. Have to block them quickly so they can't use their ranged attack.
@@4030Gaming great game. I think the level and tower design isn’t as good as it is in frontiers but i do love the variety in places you get to see its pretty sick. Def better than vengeance. Vengeance was like a B tier, Origins is a solid A, just a little below alliance imo.
Impossible mode is so weird, the first couple levels barely contain any challenge and there's no way to clear progress like in Vengeance. It just makes the first couple of levels miserable so I had to cancel all my upgrades and abilities for each of my heros and pretend I didn't have certain towers and heroes unlocked that really break the early game. Though thinking about it, it'd be fun to try to beat early game stages with late game towers, afterall they also suck at lvl 1. Point is, you have to set up stipulations in order not to be bored out of your mind. It gets somewhat challenging at the last couple of stages, but I'd still recommend not to have the skill tree fully upgraded. I wish they did a better job balancing the late game experience.
I think after the original game where some of the early heroic and iron modes were some of the hardest challenges in the game Ironhide realized the first few levels of any game should be basically easy tutorial levels. I don’t think in any of the games since the original have the first few levels been challenging even on Impossible.
@@4030Gaming I'd rather it be challenging than it be boring. What's the point when they're called "challenges" for a reason... In the original it was badly designed because challenges actually gave upgrade points which some players desperately needed, but it's not an issue anymore, so why are these baby-mode challenges even here anymore... And the worst part is they're actually challenging if you play them right after unlocking them, because you don't have your upgrades and your heroes are still at a low level. Which means one thing: all the challenges are intended to be beaten with the tools the player has available when completing the campaign level associated with it. So if the player chooses to complete them right away, the difficulty will be just as challenging as the main stage. However, I chose not to do it like that for the following reasons: 1. I'd have to replay them on Impossible anyway for which you need to finish the main campaign (and they removed the "clear progress" button from the menu which lets you replay the game on Impossible from the getgo, WHYYY) 2. It messes up the difficulty curve of the game because playing them makes your heroes level up earlier than intended (which is a system I still dislike but everybody else seems okay with it). I obviously shot myself in the foot for thinking like that seeing that the challenge has flown out of the window and I have no way to reset everything. The worst part is some of the challenges are really well crafted if you set up stipulations for yourself such as lvl 4 and 5 iron, but most people will just blaze through them on Impossible with their overleveled heroes and late game towers and/or upgrades. It's so wasteful. The tutorials should be easy, yes. The challenges associated with them, NO. And the reason for that is because they're extremely straight-forward, there's no need to teach new players how the challenges work, because the menu already tells you everything. Nobody's happy with them being this mind-nummingly easy on Impossible... Also players learn from failure more than anything, so I really don't understand handing out all these victories... I guess I just replay the main campaign at some point again just to experience the challenges as intended on Veteran. Also, I know it worked like that for a while now, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't speak up about it. The KR1 challenges were a bit too harsh, but I really don't think this was an adequate way of fixing it.
I agree with pretty much all your points. For my walkthrough I didn't do the heroic and iron modes because I didn't want my heroes to be overleveled for the people who play straight through the campaign first before trying the heroic and iron modes, but now I have the same problem - even going up to Impossible, with level 10 heroes and all upgrades it's going to be a lot easier. I wish they would go back to the system from the original KR and give 1 upgrade point for each heroic and iron mode to incentivize everyone to play them at the same time as campaign. Failing that, at least unlock Impossible mode from the beginning so I don't have to worry about wasting my time doing it once on Veteran and again on Impossible.
I feel like i need to use the rocket gunners with paladins or something cause i'm not really seeing their use. I always want them in the other mode, I don't see why i should use them for dps because of better towers like ballista, channeler, necromancer, or arcane wizard, but i also don't see the point in using them as blockers when I can just use paladins with their near unkillableness. And imo ballista favorite tower for sure.
Fair enough. I feel they pack a significant punch (although I haven't calculated the DPS yet) while being able to also block in a pinch. I especially love their upgrades. I think Rocket Gunners *behind* Paladins could be really powerful with their AoE upgrade.
@@4030Gaming I tried them with that strat while going through the cult den on impossible and they definitely felt a lot better than when I tried them in the last area. They’ll probably end up on my regular team just because they fill a niche I don’t have filled.
It's true the only substantial, quantitative change from Vengeance is using two heroes at once, but I feel like they did address the difficulty and pacing issues Vengeance had. If money's not an issue then I would recommend trying it.
It's why I like the Vengeance-style tower selection mechanic, as well as the new two-hero system, as it gives you so many different options to try out.
Depends on what you want. I'm pretty sure the Steam version is cheaper overall in terms of getting all the heroes and towers, but if you don't care about having them all then mobile is the better bargain. In terms of gameplay, I vastly prefer playing the Steam version with keyboard and mouse, but if you want to be able to play wherever you are then obviously mobile is better.

The bosses as a whole could have been a little better, I agree.
there were some game changing upgrades in earlier games.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Long time Kingdom Rush fan here, and every one of your points was homeruns. Like you voice, keep it up :)
Thank you very much!
And this is why I'm glad I only deal with the Steam version :)
@@4030Gaming Should've put Steam version in the title or clarify it in the beginning then.
@@Qulize The gameplay is the same between steam and mobile is it not? It's just some towers and heroes needing to be purchased, which he did mention in the review where applicable.
Great review with honest openion 👌
Thank you!
I love that aartillery takes the spotlight for once, it’s almost always archers being OP.
I disaggree with the multiple towers option being plausible though, especially when they don’t really seem to know how many different niches there is to fill, just towers upon towers released.
"I love that aartillery takes the spotlight for once" - I'm guessing you haven't played the original KR or Frontiers? 🙂
First time here, i really enjoyed the overview and indepth review that you had to offer. If this is your first voice over, then you should definitely keep doing it. Waiting for more alliance content.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I don’t say this ever and I’m not like an arbiter of youtube who decides what should be relevant and what not, but I genuinely see alot of potential in you also your voice is so calming and understandable.

Thanks for that!
Hey bro amazing vid im watching it right now. I played like the first 4 levels of the game so far and love it
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying Vengeance!
Kingdom Rush never misses
One thing you can never say about Ironhide is that they just rehash games - that I sequel is just like the previous game but more of the same. They're always looking to iterate on the formula, which they did here with the two hero system, and I really appreciate it.
I think my only complaint was that the low level towers were way too weak almost to the point of insignificance. I get not wanting to have players just spam towers across the map. But by midway through the base game it felt like if you didn't immediately take a tower to level 3 when placed, it wasn't worth placing.
Hmmm, I kind of feel like the series has always been that way
I find the goblin ballista to be a reliable fairly high damage tower. the stun on its basic attack pattern upgrade is realy nice, especially with the sheer amount of quite bulky flying enemies this game has. It opens up the opurtunity for the eldrich channeler to deal its full damage on them.
Though i have yet to try them out on veteran or impossible. I first want to max out all the heroes
Tried it didnt like it much felt like necro + chaneler was better combo
@Akabans999 for me personally the necro feels underwhelming, with its massive delay that it takes to spawn skeletons
Subscribed to push you through that 1k. Great vid!
Thank you very much, and thanks for the sub!
I dont get why people hate the tower selection. I liked the customization and strategy of it. Like a deck builder! But much simpler.
Thank you! That’s my viewpoint exactly! Hopefully the holdouts will come around on it after this game.
the old version gave the player more option during the gameplay
I get that, but personally I feel that giving up three tower options during gameplay is worth having twice as many towers overall to pick from.
The first commentary by you is hilarious lol
Thank you!
I agree. Everyone was fanboying hard over Raelyn before launch, but personally I love Grimson best of the four free heroes.
So many comments! I remember when it was just me (or none at all). I suppose that people go wild for middle-aged men as well. Also, I read your blog. ♥
My only complaints about the game (for PC) are that the entire screen is not immediately viewable, Favourite Customer, and that there is no encyclopaedia.
@@4030Gaming, perhaps you can try submitting your blog posts to the Kingdom Rush subreddit.

Your voice is heavenly
I appreciate that. Not something I ever imagined would be said of me 😂
This game is really fun, I hope they add survival and some of the old heroes from the past games.
I’m a little surprised they didn’t bring back old heroes since they did it for Legends. It would have been a great opportunity to do so.
Great review, keep it up mate 🤙
Thank you very much! I was nervous putting this out there since I'd never done a voiced video before, so I'm blown away by all the encouraging feedback I'm getting.
Very good review!

Great video!
Thank god you dont need to handle the heroes with the 4 and 5 buttons only. You can also use space. Press it one time, and u select your first hero. Press it 2 times and you select the second one :) Enjoy!
Yes, someone else mentioned that earlier, and I'm going to try it out to see if I like it better than 4/5.
Hey another thing, if you wanted some feedback on the editing of the video, I thought of two things:
1. I would suggest adding some simple background music rather than (or in addition to) the gameplay sounds you have now. In my experience, it just makes the commentary even more delightful to listen to.
2. If you cut the footage every now and then between different levels, some where you use different towers, I think it would be more entertaining to watch. Just a new level to watch every minute or so would do a great deal for keeping people from clicking off (at least that's my guess)
@@4030Gaming I understand fully, and hey, it was a great video nonetheless!
"but nobody reads my blog" Sent me lol💀💀
😂 well it’s true. I’m lucky if I get double digits in views on any given post.
That's news to me, although multiple heroes is kind of an obvious way to go in terms of adding to the KR formula.
I quite enjoyed vengeance, all the kingdom rush games were good and I loved what story they had
I liked Vengeance too, just not as much as the other games in the series.
Great job man
Thank you!
Two heroes are very fun to play
I agree, an excellent addition to the series.
the main drawback of the series: too short
i miss ork buster
Don't worry, Ironhide will release plenty more post-campaign levels in the future. We ended up with 36 levels in total for Vengeance, and I'm sure we'll end up with something like that for Alliance.
the intro killed me 💀
😂 Thanks!
22:31 agree, just like i said on Charity live stream, and i quote -
("favorite customer" randomness is really bad, sometimes random is ok but implement it in money is a bad design decision, in KR gold - is a resourse wich you should use wisely cause on each level its limited, discounts are great because they stable, please take away random from gold economy and make 'favorite customer' a flat discount.) I really surprised this made it to realease.
Agree 100%!
What does the ''debuf' ability of the necromancer tower do exactly ? More damage? lowering def?
From what I understand, it just allows enemies to be turned into skeletons when they die. I don't know why they added this, since it wasn't a requirement for the tower in Frontiers - enemies would turn into skeletons even if the tower never actually hit them itself as long as they died inside the tower's radius. Maybe they just felt the tower needed to be dialed back slightly by requiring it to hit enemies first.
@@4030Gaming I see, thanks. I thought enemies turning into skeletons was a passive effect after you killed them with the tower. So that totem just "widens" the scope of enemies being eligible to turn.
No elite levels makes this game feel not as worth as much as the other games tbh😢
I mean, we'll get them soon enough, the first ones probably being a halloween campaign in october
Oh yes, there will be plenty of extra levels to come. If Vengeance is anything to go by, we'll be getting levels for years to come.
bro the game just released, why do you expect everything to be out already? no other kingdom rush game has released dlc’s until a little after the release
@@dr.max9yt459 its because it costs more bro
The 6 key toggles between units, just like with Durax copies
Why didn't I think to try that??? Thanks!
The campaign did feel a bit short. The original Kingdom Rush campaign levels had 12-15 waves of foes, and Alliance doesn't have long campaign levels.
I know, I'm already eager for the bonus levels to come out.
i hoped the imppssible mode was the same as KRO Steam(not only hp but they have other new abilities)
@@4030Gaming oh, no worries! Thank you for the content! Keep up the great work. :)
Thank you!
Do you think you'll do something like tier lists for heroes and towers?
I'm currently publishing my Impossible Hero Challenge series where I'm doing every map in every mode with every hero on Impossible. On my blog I give each hero a grade for each map, then when the series is over I average all the grades to rank the heroes. I've done it already for Frontiers, Origins, and Vengeance. You can check out the entries here on my blog:
4030gaming.blogspot.com/
Right now I'm still in the early maps that are trivial with any hero, so there are no grades as yet. I publish the campaign, heroic, and iron modes for a given map each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday respectively.
@@4030Gaming awesome, I will check out the blog!
I like the vid thank you. Although I do like the RnG random discount. Makes it more interesting to strategize
They should mix the tower selection systems, have you choose 4 towers to use in each level but still have the towers with split paths
Vengeance, as he said is the "worst" not because its bad, but because the other games are better
Yes, I hope nobody took my comment the wrong way.
I’ve experienced issues with bugs on mobile where sometimes towers will lock up and not work, or when then “call wave” button for wave 4, level 12 doesn’t pop up
Submit it on the Kingdom Rush subreddit. Ironhide definitely reads posts there.
Great Review👍🏼
Thanks! 👍
Sorry, didn't realize your were talking about the hero spell, not just the hero having a ranged attack.
I didn’t know about the hotkey for reinforcements lol
Glad it was helpful :)
Great video
Thank you!
I feel the ballistas are really strong, they even have AoE damage, but their damage is more of a burst, so ive had troubles with flying enemies leaking, but besides that, its great on the front of the map or chokepoint
That's been my experience too - the firing cadence means they're not reliable in the back vs flying enemies.
you just got a new sub 👍
Thanks and welcome to the channel!
I’ve played all the games on my iPad. I rarely use my iPad anymore. But the pc version is $20. But $6 for Apple version. Not sure which one to get.
What is it about the old system that you like better?
But yes, Teleport + Spider Bite is a powerful combo to be sure.
why did they get rid of the endless wave gamemode? was hoping to see it return
I have a bad feeling that’s a relic of the past now, since they never got around to doing it for Vengeance. Vengeance is getting a new update this year though, so who knows, maybe we still will. I think it’s something the fan base almost universally wants.
Thank you i didnt know it coud be soo good
You're welcome!
Should I buy this?
If you're a fan of the series, absolutely. If you've never played a Kingdom Rush game before and aren't sure if you would like it, maybe get one of the older games like Frontiers that will be a little cheaper and try it out.
I really miss the "side mission" levels in the endgame
Don't worry, they'll be coming later. Remember we ended up getting 20 of them for Vengeance (and apparently more are still coming later this year!)
As an rts micro goblin, i prefer the micro!

THE LIFELESS HUSKS ARE THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE PLEASE SEND H E L P!

@@4030Gaming well yeah the fat toads ruin my day XD
I feel like they're the unholy child of the Dark Spitters from Origins and the Saurian Deathcoils from Frontiers. Have to block them quickly so they can't use their ranged attack.

Not yet
Please Ironhide 🥺
Great game. It has some mid vengeance-esque stuff but generally best since frontiers
Just curious, but what’s your opinion on Origins? I think Origins is better than Frontiers, but I know I’m in the minority.
However, I chose not to do it like that for the following reasons:
1. I'd have to replay them on Impossible anyway for which you need to finish the main campaign (and they removed the "clear progress" button from the menu which lets you replay the game on Impossible from the getgo, WHYYY)
I feel like this game is too similar to vengeance. Really no major changes in my opinion. Dont know if i should buy it or not
It's true the only substantial, quantitative change from Vengeance is using two heroes at once, but I feel like they did address the difficulty and pacing issues Vengeance had. If money's not an issue then I would recommend trying it.
Is overwhelming for me, so many choices of towers and heroes.
It's why I like the Vengeance-style tower selection mechanic, as well as the new two-hero system, as it gives you so many different options to try out.
Please talk in more videos. You have a great voice

@@4030Gaming Lovely!
I literally just want an endless mode 😢
Same here.
Should i buy the steam ver. Or the mobile vier., pls help
I just want to say that you can remap your keys exiting a certain file called settings.lua. It's sad that they didn't make a UI for that, but anyway
Nice, I'll take a look at it!
