I don’t understand why BNA gave you the number to start with. You went long on your rollout due to speed. So what. Tower was trying to push tin a little to tight. That’s on the the controller not you. You did your job.
If I were to hazard a guess, there was a junior controller on duty who thought it was my fault. He checked with his boss and called me back, right about the time I was taxiing back to the hanger. That's when it was dropped.
Yep, I think your decision making was sound, as was, as it turned out, ATC to get the SW to go around promptly. No muss, no fuss, no harm, (eventually) no foul.
