Maybe some day I’ll make my own pipe, never thought about it before. I bought some little chisels to try to fix a corn cob bowl. Definitely something to be proud of.

I think a lot of pipe makers started modding cobs. It can be a slippery slope.

I enjoyed hearing about your work on the pipes. Interesting how much price difference there is between the blocks and the old stummels. It'll be fun seeing the progression of your work with them. I love Union Square, and I've found C&D's Opening Night to be very similar. it's not available in bulk (tin only), and it seems to have a very, very light sweetness to the casing that's almost undetectable. I really only notice it if I have a bowl of Opening Night and one of Union Square in close proximity. Opening Night is a bit less expensive than Union Square. Both age very nicely.

I think that there is a little honey topping on Opening Night. It is a very good blend.

Yes, that is the problem with a lot of blends, they "suffer from a distinctive lack of perique."

I am American, but a scot if I went by heritage, but never been. So I am just a white guy that lobsters when I sun tan. I hope to put out two videos about my experience of a parade and my first drink of Guinness at age 50

Hi Blake, I absolutely agree with you. My nationality is American of the United States variety. My heritage is German/Irish with a bit of Italian mixed in. That bit of Italian allows me to go out in the sun 😉 I'll look forward to those videos. Thanks for watching!

Hi Mark, Will do if I ever save up enough to make it worth your trouble. You may know about this, but both Vermont Freehand and Rawkrafted sell small blocks and off cuts for very reasonable prices. Worth looking into if you are in a hurry. Thanks for watching!

A bit late, but hope you had a good St. Patrick's Day!
Now, what is the story behind that double-barreled, rusticated pipe in the thumbnail? I've never seen such a thing!! 😅

I just picked that as a joke. I tried to think if what the strangest outcome would be for a new pipemaker. Surprisingly, there were several multi-bowled pipes to choose from 😂👍
