Baekho mentioned in an interview that they used two basses, both played with muted strings, to create a new sound for this track, and he spent most of the time working on that guitar riff in the beginning. I am glad you guys noticed both :) I hope Baekho got the chance to talk more about the forms of his songs as well. I still remember that Umu had that specific video just to breakdown the form of Deja vu.
That new sound of their's you mentioned is most likely to be because of Baekho composing for the group now! I think he's been composing since Canvas?? Alongside with Bumzu
Also, since The Table comeback, Baekho's name has been placed before Bumzu meaning he's doing more and more of the work. It shows that they're definitely developing well as a group. I love having Bumzu pretty much be the secret member of NU'EST and at the same time learning from him about composing and producing songs since the Q is. and Canvas eras. Pledis kinda has a trifecta of composers now, Bumzu, Baekho and Woozi.
IM CRYING AN AWARD WINNING PROFESSORRR LOVES DEJAVU??? I am so hyped for this😭😭 Thank you for showing him that Umu! hopefully you get well soon❤ and yes I love the tracks as well. as a fan we are doing all this streaming party on many devices and accounts all day all week on loop but I NEVER get tired of Im in Trouble at all because of the variety of the sounds. i keep finding new things to listen to!:) I am also curious about what you think of the other songs in the albums like Moon Dance, Firework and Shooting Star! if not a listening party i think i still wanna know your opinions on it on a tweet maybe? hahaha. thank you so much for reacting to NUEST and noticing their sound❤
I also do think the "I got you on my mind," section was the bridge. It's difficult to tell because they only had a chorus and pre-chorus two times throughout the song rather than three + Bridge. But I do think it's considered a Bridge. The song does feel shorter because of it though... Anyway, Thank you for this reaction. I was waiting for it! :)
I've mostly done rock and pop-rock form for songs and I think the best way to classify this song would probably be to give it a Chorus A and a Chorus B and have a bridge in between the two chorus sections on the second chorus, so you'd get something like this: Introduction (0:00-0:10) Verse 1 (0:10-0:38) Pre-Chorus (0:39-0:47) Chorus A (0:48-1:06) Chorus B (1:07-1:26) Verse 2 (1:26-1:44) Pre-Chorus (1:45-1:54) Chorus A (1:55-2:12) Bridge (2:13-2:33) Chorus B (2:34-2:52) Outro (2:53-3:04) You could also argue that there's a re-intro in between the bridge and the second chorus B, where everything drops out except for the bassline. I'm honestly not sure if I would put it in the form just because it's such a short section, but it's definitely a short version of the introduction so it would make sense to put that label in there! (Also the times I used were from the recorded version of the song not the music video because I was way too lazy to cross-check with the music video lmao.)
Honestly it means so much that y'all are recognizing NU'EST's talent and hardwork and just being fans of them. They are pretty popular in Korea but are not so much recognized internationally. That's all fine or course cause they are kind of our little secret, but it is heartwarming for a group I love to be recieved with such high regard by classical music students and even professionals in the music industry.
First of all, thank you for reacting to the new nu 'est song. Glad you liked it, the rest of your 8th mini album "the nocturne" is equally amazing, I highly recommend it. Greetings from Argentina. 🇦🇷🇰🇷🐢🐯🦊🐰🐶
Thank you for reacting to NU'EST! I loved the bass sounds too -- they do it so well, just like in their song 'Bass' from the Happily Ever After album (which I remember you guys reacted to and loved as well haha). Please give the rest of the songs from their The Nocturne album a listen too! I personally recommend Moon Dance! P.S. Really looking forward to the video with your professor regarding Dejavu!! And yes the form of this song was slightly confusing but to be honest the form of Dejavu was 10x more confusing xD
I've listened to the song so many times and I'm still just as confused over the form of the song as ever. Baekho and Bumzu are a bit too experimental 😂 😂. Thank you for reacting!
I can relate to umu when she said loved their sound starting with "Love Paint" and "Overcome", cause that's when i started being a fan of them.. Then they went to that hiatus after releasing their mini album "Canvas".. But I'm really glad they finally get to shine and getting more support now!
i always wait for reviews 'cause i love listening to you guys talk about songs from a musician's perspective - it makes me appreciate the songs more especially when there's something i missed that you guys like catch. will wait for the video of your professor reacting to deja vu!
AAAH I've been waiting for this ever since the comeback!! Thank you so. much for reacting to it. It's always interesting to find out how musically trained people view NU'EST's music and I always look forward to your reactions
Thank you for reacting to NU’EST song ♡ And glad you like it. Ps: i hope i can see the video of your professor analyze nu’est w song someday. Get well soon!
i appreciated the mid-tempo of it, chill groove instead of explosions everywhere and i think that highlighted very pleasantly how they are an experienced group that has done enough of the big stuff that they can tone it down and still carry it flawlessly.
so nice to watch you guys react to nu'est! it gives a new perspective since you guys are able to catch things i wouldn't have been able to myself. would kill for a reaction to the entire album!
The reaction that i really waiting for!!!!.. i love reacttotheK reaction because they discuss more on the music arrangement. Once again baekho shows really mature composition and its show how he really like experimenting with the music
Thanks for reviewing the song, your video convinced me Baekho is truly a genius lol Nuest sounds better and better in each stage and the reason why is Baekho 😊 I’m so looking forward to your new video for Dejavu pls save it from dungeon lol thanks anyways
Fun edit, good reaction and nice song. Yeah a lot of attention and creativity was placed on the "basseses" and percussion/sounds (especially for a pop song) The vast majority of which I appreciated quite a bit.
So glad you checked out their new song. I might be biased, lol, but I reallllly like this song and album. The Mv and concept is my favorite after help me from nuest w. Happy to see your reaction.
Everything about this song is sooooo sexy, the bass, the mellow voices of the members, the groove of most parts of the song. But the catch is it's not a tryhard one. I'm actually mindblown by this song
I dont watch reaction much but your are my most anticipated. Thank you for reacting to our baekho, bumzu masterpiece. You should try listen to whole album too bcs Ren co-composed one of the song, Must. He also wrote the lyrics along with baekho. And JR sang there too. Anyway get well soon umu :)
This was a great reaction, tbh this song seemed a bit repetitive to me but now it's stuck in my head. I can't wait to see your Punch reaction, I think it's a pretty fun song.
thank you for this!! i loved how you analyzed this. though i do suggest you react to moon dance!! that one's pretty interesting to listen to, and it would be nice to hear your perspective about it :))
I've been waiting for this reaction!! also could you check out the kpop band LUCY (루시) and their song flowering? it's such a good song and i thought it was super interesting that one of their members plays the violin in all their pieces :)
I'm so lucky both you and the producer released reaction video for this! **REQUEST** btw I hope you read this.. If you guys dont mind, can I add some performances to your reaction list? I really want you guys to react to Golden Child's 2nd and 3rd performance on Road To Kingdom. The reason for this is because they didn't get higher rank in that show despite the amazing performance they showcased, even they're rumoured to be eliminated from the show :( many of the fans think the show and the voters kinda biased towards visual appearance and stunt included in the performance rather that it is musically, so I really want to know what is your opinion since you guys always emphasizes the musical aspect in your reaction. sorry if it's too long, loving your channel as always

I've mostly done rock and pop-rock form for songs and I think the best way to classify this song would probably be to give it a Chorus A and a Chorus B and have a bridge in between the two chorus sections on the second chorus, so you'd get something like this:
Introduction (0:00-0:10)
Verse 1 (0:10-0:38)
Pre-Chorus (0:39-0:47)
Chorus A (0:48-1:06)
Chorus B (1:07-1:26)
Verse 2 (1:26-1:44)
Pre-Chorus (1:45-1:54)
Chorus A (1:55-2:12)
Bridge (2:13-2:33)
Chorus B (2:34-2:52)
Outro (2:53-3:04)

Just wanna say: Baekho finally sounds like his voice has found the right song (to me). And Min-gi’s hair style rocks! XD
there should be a drinking game.. take a shot every time someone says chorus
