The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project is expected to be completed by 2024. The project has made significant progress, with trunk infrastructure development activities nearing completion at four locations in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh

Maharashtra govt(including Fadnavis) wanted the route from Pune as they are gaining nothing from this train. Also BKC land parcel in Mumbai was the most crucial, Fadnavis didn't gave it when 50% land acquisition happened in Gujarat. Why? Yes Uddhav played politics, but so did Modi. If you want to credit Modi for parliament, why are you so ashamed of criticising him for Delay in ALL major project in Maharashtra. WDFC, Bullet Train, Delhi Mumbai expressway, all have been halted in Maharashtra. If Mumbai is important, give it that importance. Also Modiji delayed Kanjurmarg Depot for metro line 6. He is not a step behind playing politics.

Maharashtra has a BJP coalition govt. but Everything east of Maharashtra is Non-BJP govt which are either neutral or anti BJP. These states are Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and WB. Notable fact is that none of these states will cooperate with each other to create even an expressway let alone an Industrial corridor despite being The Most Mineral Rich Region in India and having large labor pool. In such a climate how will Mumbai Kolkata corridor get created?

The problems, delays in this corridor is that neither Ahmedabad, nor Noida, nor Mumbai have industrial manufacturing towns. So the issue is not just linking these cities but also build dholera and auric manufacturing hubs that can cater to the corridor needs for all sectors, employees can travel and logistics can be exported efficiently.
- It will decades decades to achieve this as even if we were to get all infra done, India lacks a skilled manufacturing workforce to cater to this DMIC corridor.
