      if you view the Maurice Andre Encore . The Telamon Sonata Finale in D has quite the mistakes. Its the last performance he has had.

      Joseph Yu There wouldn't be too much difference since this piece is written for E flat trumpet. For B flat, it's written in F major, which sounds like E flat on the piano, or basically the key that this piece is in. So there wouldn't be too much difference either way.

    OOps, make that "subtlety" not "subtleness".

    Massgeblich ist der Gesamteindruck. Fehler, wenn sie nicht gehäuft auftreten, beeinträchtigen nicht. Es bleibt die kongeniale Umsetzung des Soloparts. Anders mag es dem gehen, der sich in der Rolle des Sixtus Beckmecker sieht. Aber auch dies wäre sein gutes Recht. Es wirkt dann allerdings ein wenig ärmlich und pedantisch.

    The recording by Armando Ghitalla posted on UA-cam is considerably more elegant

    • @echuliatrumpet
      @echuliatrumpet 8 років тому

      MrKlemps today everything is debatable but still respecting and admiring the work and interpretation of Mr. Guitalla, comparisons are terrible music. My judgment is quite different: Version of Guitalla is too lyrical. That said (that's my opinion and I think one could argue), I think it should take care of your writing to say flatly that is considerably more elegant. I imagine that is your opinion, which deserves more respect for any argument.

      Ernesto Chulia
      That would be "Ghitalla". That is the way Mr. Ghitalla spelled his last name, and at the very least you show sufficient respect to get THAT much correct.

    • @masterelite1254
      @masterelite1254 6 років тому +1

      To be honest, I am going to disagree with you. Ghitalla in his own right is an amazing player, but his interpretation doesn't even come close to Andre's. Ghitalla shortens notes that end phrases way too often and that leaves the audience with a feeling of dissatisfaction, in other words, the way he ends his phrases has the audience wondering what is going to happen, which isn't necessarily good because you want the audience to know if the movement/piece is going somewhere or if it's ending. And on top of that, Ghitalla's playing seems very tense and shaky, as if he was afraid to be playing in front of people, which isn't everyone's forte. I'm sorry, but many people would agree that Maurice Andre's interpretation is superior, not in every way, but most ways for this concerto.

    Technically precise, to be sure, but Wynton Marsallis gives this wonderful music far more subtleness and grace. Robert Anderson
