  • Quiet woodworking with none of the constant talking from my other channels. These are a handful of my favorite projects including a timber framed staircase, epoxy tables, solid wood tables, sculpted cabinets, even a table made entirely from denim and much more.

    Guys great skill used in the video. I'm an old retired carpenter and joiner from N. Ireland. Two tips I'll share if that's OK. 1. When using white melamine on your resin fills or marcarta tables, wax it well first with a wax that won't mark your project. It will lift of the finished project with ease. 2. The reason you drill kept catching when boring the brass plates is the cutting angle of the drill bit. Goggle it & you will get the correct angle. Anyway thanks for sharing. Regards
    Hugo Dale

    I have never been so ashamed of how you two represent the craft of carpentry. It's not just about having the skills or the machinery. Its about the joy, the privilege, and the reverence of working with a material that was essentially alive before it was felled. You display no reverence for the work, nor the material, or the craft. It seems to me that to you it is just about collecting a paycheck as fast as possible. Fine. I will never bother with your channel again. Let others be your acolytes. To me doing the work by hand it comes down to just not build something, but have be a pure joy to do so, that takes time and dedication, and appreciation for the wood, and I find none of that here. Yes you measure well, and cut accurately, but you show no love in your motions, faces, or actions. I will go and appreciate great craftsmen like the Japanese, Koreans, or true old style craftsmen that become charged with love for what they do beyond just get the work done. I know that you do not care what I say, or maybe even have UA-cam take my posting out for calling you out on your lack of heart for what you have now shown for this craft, but I felt that I had to say this. You show no love, but just an exasperated need to just force yourself through the tasks, and not enjoy the journey of having the opportunity to work with such beautiful pieces of wood.

    • @elizabethruiz6545
      @elizabethruiz6545 Місяць тому

      One must have a love for the craft to start it and become skilled... Maybe this particular woodworker isn’t for you, and that’s okay. But this comment feels a bit unnecessary.

    • @Wateringman
      @Wateringman Місяць тому +2

      @@elizabethruiz6545 It is not without merit. It is something that I felt needed to be said, for if no one complaints, or objects, the silence merely shows a false acceptance of what I have seen. But then again, that you feel it was unnecessary is your opinion. You have that right. Just as I have mine to object to what I feel is a lack of soul in this presentation. That is also my right. I won't take away your rights. Do not attempt to deprive me of mine.

    0:32 take a piece of lumber with you, when you know you'll have an overhanging load, because while the tailgate's designed to allow you climb on it, even put load on it, it's at the very limit of what's possible when it comes to dynamic loads (aka you going over a pothole with a load). Best not to chance it in the first place, place a piece of lumber just before the tailgate and secure the log down into using the sides of the bay using a piece of wood and some junk stacked between the load and it. That way you can load something heavy without using the full length of your pickup truck. No point in messing up your truck if you can do it without it (the action). Jm2c.

    Erwin Thoma says: we have a ethical contract with the trees, they let us use there wood with the only condition that we do not transmute the wood in toxic waste...we are allowed to use the wood but we should not interrupt there continuous line of life. The life is always living and simultaneously preaparing the conditions for the next generation... This is the special idea of grown material. The "craftmanship" in this video is in contrary to this maxim. This kind of masterpieces are the solution for very few very rich people but not for the future of the Earth.
