Who Do We Draw For And Why - Concept Art For Animation No. 17

Who do we draw for and why? The ideal answer would be, you draw for yourself and because it brings you joy. If you can give this answer day after day, year after year, and decade after decade then you have it made in the creative field.
You should draw because you want to and not because someone is forcing you to. It goes without saying that the moment some forces anything on us we start disliking it. Make sure drawing comes from a place of joy and the drawings will reflect that. They will have a wonderful sense of engagement at any stage in your creative journey. An artist’s life weather a commercial artist or a fine artist is though. Make sure you do it because you love what you do. It will make your journey easier. Remember the joy the creation process brings you while you are experiencing hardships with the process. That joy will work as your North star and guide you through the tough times.
Primarily you will draw for clients, to express yourself, to practice, and to entertain others. At some point in your career, you will have created for all of them. If you can find joy sharing your creative process and results with all four you got it made.
