Indra Jatra is the biggest religious street festival in Kathmandu. It is celebrated for eight days starting from Bhadra Dwadashi to Ashwin Krishna Chatudashi. It is celebrated to please and thank God Indra for rain and fog.
This video is based on stories passed from our ancestors. We have tried to gather as much information as possible from different sources. This video is just an attempt to share the belief behind this festival to keep them alive and not intended to hurt anyone or their beliefs.

Hi promod sir I am here
Its not that Indra couldn't escape the tie but it was his Leela
कसरी यस्तो edit garne
I read in my English1 book
Indra jatra ma Krishna Lai kasle jodyo? Indra jatra Krishna sanga sambandhit xa? Baru indra jatra ma pujine euta devta Ganesh ho. Harek Ganesh mandir bhabya singarinxa indra jatra Tani ki yenya ko bela. Yesari jathabhavi katha rachera Chali ayeko kimbadanti Lai bigarnu ramro Haina.

नमस्कार नं389मा म पनि जोडिएको छु है मेरोमा पनि जोडीनु होला निम्तो छ।
Misleading story..starting is truth bt about airawaot and indra's mother daagi is not so true..it is still believed that indra is in capture of ktm newars and airawot was captured by kilagal youths while it was searching his masters.. daagi the indra's mother offer to take death people with her to heaven in returns of favor that they free her son indra..
Thank you for the comment, really appreciate your feedback and additional informations you provided.
This video is based on story that I heard and some research. Episode 2 is coming soon which will incorporate additional informations regarding this festival.
Also, it is really difficult to find one particular authentic source or story since there are so many interpretations and no written proofs. I really appreciate the fact you brought up the version you heard.
Thanks again and Happy Indra Jatra!
little correction.
yenya means kathmanduko
punhi means celeberation
yenya punhi means kathmanuko jatra.
yen is kathmandu in newari
but ya is not celeberation,
punhi is celeberation
Story is very nicely presented..Welldone.👌👌👌👏👏👏
Thank you for correction. Glad you enjoyed 😊
Kole vaneko
