Villa won the replay at Highbury. Paul Birch scored a great goal. RIP Birchy... Died way too young.

Super-rare Rhys Wilmot footage. Classic reserve keeper who stuck around for a decade, because he loved the Arsenal

I'd swap EVERYTHING we have now to go back to these days. I don't want glamour, just passion.

    26,000 in attendance what?
12,000 Gooners at this one I've been told, if only we could go back to the 1980s!!

1985 I think you're reffering to mate we did the Yids 2-0 at their place and ripped up 800 or so seats in the South Stand.
The worst damage ever done at WHL and even better the Yids had to pay for it themselves!!
It's fair to say they've never seen the likes of us down their place....1983 I think it was one of ours threw the petrol bomb into the Shelf..
We'll never see the likes again, nowadays all it takes is for someone to throw a banana at Gareth Bale and the media will go mad..
I don't know if that 1985 game is on video here mate, maybe try searching for a Tottenham or Arsenal 1984/85 season review.
I did come across a short video of our game at Coventry in 1984, when a few hundred or maybe thousand of our lot stormed onto the pitch after we'd scored.. Better days..

It was great beating that lot away in '85 as it really confirmed Everton's title as well..
The Yids were top going into the new year and had beaten us at highbury to extend their lead in January giving them hope of a first title since 1961 (they're still waiting).
They finished third behind both Liverpool clubs, the mudering red shite denying their main city rivals a shot at the European Cup..
Tottenham never wanted to know when Arsenal had an even number mate, for example their no show down Blackstock Road in 2005, and countless other times..
Knife happy cowards, weren't they famous for carving the letter ''S'' (for Spurs) into opposition supporters backs!!
The fact that a number of innocent scarfers were spat on outside the bowl during our 2-0 cup win last year says it all..
You're right..it's stupid & pointless now..it's all verbals at best..
You look at 1985 and a tragedy like Heysel was on the cards..it was only a matter of time..earlier that year you had our lot at Tottenham
      Leeds at Birmingham
Millwall at Luton and another tragedy at that Bradford City vs Lincoln City match..amongst others..
Heysel was a major factor in a massive clamp down and football violence has slowly but surely eased off since..
Some of the best pitch invasions were at highbury mate, too many to mention right now, but notably when thousands ran on after the Villa game in 1981..or celebrating qualifying for wembley after beating defending league champions Everton in 1988....coming a few weeks after the massive pitch invasion there against Millwall..
