Pleaae, if you dont mind the questions, how much is the cost of this lenses and can be programe with another language?...do you think a 88 years old person can controlled this lenses?
I'm pretty sure being a blind gamer would be cool. I grew up Visually Impaired and I've always wanted to know how that works. 💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️ ❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜
would any of these smart glasses, eSight, neweyes, orcam or maybe envision work for somebody, such as myself, who's only able to see light? if they would, i'd love to pick up a pair
This is part from Great Britain I really love these it makes my life so much nicer to watch something well try to watch something and have somebody smiling and laughing about it it’s so refreshing can’t believe it thank you very much for doing these
Excellent video, as usual You mentioned the low vision expos that regular folks ( non industry personnel) can try these products… where would I find a schedule of events for 2023? Thank you
I tried the eSight glasses and ended up not buying them because they got real hot, and after wearing them for several minutes they became very uncomfortable. Do these devices generate heat? How heavy are they on your face, bridge of your nose Love what I've seen on your channel so far, I will keep watching.
It’s been a while since I tried them so it’s difficult to remember. If I remember correctly, they did get pretty warm as well. I don’t believe they were heavy though. They actually aren’t making these anymore and have moved onto a different design. You may be able to still find these around but probably not for long.
Hi, Sam, a very helpful video, as usual. Nueyes says this product has been discontinued. They have more recently launched pro3. Have you tried it? How do you think it compares to esight? Thanks!
Thanks for this. I have the esight, and I wish I had this instead. It looks we better, has more functionality, and isn’t nearly as cumbersome as the easier. It’s also less than half the price! Had I know about this 2 years ago, I would have waited.
Thanks for sharing Sam I was curious about these. I'll def. Check them out should I encounter then somewhere. I do wish assistive technology could be more affordable for the general public to purchase. I doubt even DBVI could reconcile the expense. Please keep sharing all of your great finds!
Have you looked into the Patriot Viewpoint VR glasses. It's basically Samsung VR glasses. I get the impression that you will not have to worry about light leaking in and the screen is reasonably large.
Okay, the first thing Sam is being low vision it’s very hard to find the like button. In fact I can’t find it. The second thing is that for comments I find it quite difficult to find the microphone.. I love your blogs and I look forward to them every week, I followed the information on the all-terrain Kane which is transformational, but it did cost me a very significant amount of postage to have it delivered to Australia
April 2021. Many new products out there. What in your opinion is the best thing out there? Asking for one of my students that has eyesight similar to yours. If you chose today, what would you choose Sam?
Well that’s tough to say, all of these devices are so task and goal dependent. So it depends on what you’re wanting to accomplish. If I wanted to see things at a distance or see my family members faces, then I would choose the iris vision. If I wanted a CCTV with decent OCR but also wanted it to be productive, I would go with the patriot pro. If I just needed CCTV, OCR, distance camera, I would go with the clover book.
Hi, Sam, thanks for the very helpful review, as usual. Nueyes says this product has been discontinued, they are now selling pro3. Do you have any information about it? Thanks!
How far can these zoom in? , I play Short Matt Bowls, and at a guess, the mat must be about 50 yards away with these actually help me for this. I live in the UK. Thank you.
The feature that takes the two screens into one sounds good. I have some brain damage that separated my vision, each eye sees independently and they decided not to agree. That makes life blurry. I’ve had a degree of healing, I can see my surroundings, but I have trouble reading. I can’t see my phone screen, iPad, laptop and definitely not paper without help. This sounds like it may work for me. I will have to try it
I really like the look and functionality of these. I would really like to have something like these to help out with reading and finding things at work. The earbuds however, complicate things as I already wear an earpiece for work. Would be perfect if they had a small speaker that could be used optionally.
I would definitely recommend trying them out since they use screens right in front of your eyes, someone with only center vision may find them very useful.
Unfortunately, there’s no way for anyone to know if a certain device will work for a certain type of vision impairment. It depends on someone’s level of vision and how much field of view they have. The best thing you could do is have your grandfather try the glasses to see if they will work or not.
Can you safely walk around in these? Do they alter depth perception etc? Do you think they would benefit a partially sighted guide dog user with some useful central but no peripheral vision?
Hi I m from Portugal. I m right eye blind and low vision on left eye ( 1/10), but with iPhone camera I can be independent. I m looking for iris vision glass, esigh and now this Nueyes. Can you tell me about brightness? For me is very important. Tk
Hey, thank u for making this video. I am low vision with RP and tunnel vision (mostly peripheral vison) and wonder which wearable glasses would u recommend now? I've read about Acesight but not sure if it's for my vision condition.
Great review Sam. Maybe you could connect it to an external monitor so we the viewer, can see what you see. I'm from the Philippines... sigh, Goodbye NuEyes. There's almost no chance for me to test these kinds of tech.
Yeah, I thought about that but in order to mirror the image onto a monitor you need to set up a Wi-Fi connection. Since I can’t see the on screen menus, I’m not able to do that. I know they’re branching out into other countries very quickly so maybe the Philippines will be coming soon as well. You could always contact them and ask about that.
Just curious would it be possible to download images or video taken to another device. That would be very helpful for me at work. Especially showing that image on my 48-in monitor at my desk after a meeting or being out on the shop floor
Are they useful for macular degeneration i am researching for me elderly mother. I have seen Ocutechs Falcon and Irisvision smart phone mounted head set but these appear more "normal" than theother products. Great to see the reviews thpugh keep ot up 🇬🇧
I just found out that the new version of Nueyes with the wrap around will be out in February of 2019. i would love to see you do a review of those glasses and would love to see if it would be something that would help you.
Yes, I just learned about this recently. I’m going to a conference at the end of January where I’m sure I’ll get to try it out. If not, I’ll see if I can get my hands on one for a full review.
I wasn’t crazy about their VR style headset. I think they’ve got something new now but haven’t tried it yet. I’ll be going to some convention soon so hopefully will get a chance to try it there.
I am not blind But. I'm 59 years old your younger but that's great what your doing I'm not interested in what your talking about now but I admire you your confidence your awesome I have gloucma in both eye savere in both eyes keep doing what your doing
Hi sam, my father have a disease of heridity he lost his vision in his childhood completely. Now he can't see nothing. Is the device help him to walk in road and in the house 🏠
Hi Sam, What is the best device for you? My husband has Cone Rode dystrophy abca4 gene. He only has 5% eye vision. And we are from South-africa Kind regards Sharon

Yes, the kernel is correct, you’re not allowed to drive with any of these wearable devices because of the limited field of you. Also your depth perception is altered when looking through the cameras so you may think something is further away than it really is. Very dangerous while driving!
Hi. Would you make a video wearing NuEyes device to do shopping for example? Like the one you did for OrCam please? And how do you compare these two products please? Thank you.
As far as comparing the two devices, or cam doesn’t do magnification. If magnification is something you required then I would recommend NuEyes. However, all the different things that or cam does they do very well. Unfortunately NuEyes doesn’t work for me so I wouldn’t be able to do a video about shopping with them. The screens are just too small and my vision is to pour for them to work for me. However, if they work for somebody, if a person could see the screens and use the magnification then I think they would work great for shopping.
Can you wear this over prescription glasses that are thick, like for people who've had cataracts removed but don't have lens implants? Also, will this work for someone who only has vision in one eye?
You’ll have to check with them on whether or not your glasses will fit underneath. However, I do know that you would be able to use these with only one eye.
Thank you so much for this demonstration video. I collect data on Accessible Products so i can provide a beneficial listing for those who call in to inquire what products are available out there for them to use in order to assist with in-dependency. Your videos have been an amazing reference to send them to watch for additional insight on certain products.
I know it's not a funny vid or anything but to say "vids to watch" on a review for a gadget to help visually impaired people is kinda.. ironic..I think that's the word I'm looking for. Again not making fun of anyone but it kinda made me chuckle a little. I myself have vision problems, like if I take off my glasses I'm pretty much blind.. like everything get fuzzy looking and blurry and all that jazzy stuff. But Its cool what you do to help people and point them in the right direction for help with whatever ailment they may have. Keep up the great work.
I have the new eyes they were great for me thanks for sharing this video with us I really appreciate it I didn't know that the new eyes had so many features I never really looked into it. Again thanks for sharing!
I can only say what works best for me, which in this case is Iris vision. I recommend you give them both a try though to find out which would be best for you.
Thanks for your effort sir. My mother has Retinitis Pigmentosa. She lost her vision at the age of 25. She is 73 now. Do you think if this device can be useful for her. i wish if she can see me atleast.
Great review. Didn't know any of these devices existed. Regarding your comment about your blind spots being too big for device to help: I've got Best disease affecting both eyes and I went to Bejing for stem cell therapy. $18K and no cure but it did shrink my blind spots by about 40% (so far, 21 months now). They're still blocking my view but it did increase my peripheral field. Like you reminded, everybody's situation is unique and it may be an expensive gamble but I wanted to share anyway.
it would be dope if they made something that could help you detect obstacles you would otherwise miss that makes use of a face mounted camera or proximity sensor in conjunction with a rumble motor.
I tried these at home but felt a little rushed . A lot of great technology but the field of View was just too small, you can’t watch tv with them and just too small an area to read much with, it’s great it can take pictures and all that stuff but I want see better , that’s all, never mind alll the gadgets. $6000.00..?? I don’t think so.
I have macular did generation as well and these didn’t work very well for me. If your mom‘s vision is as poor as mine, these types of glasses might not work. I would recommend the iris vision. It’s really the only thing that worked well for me.
Do thse work for Retinopathy of RPrematurity, for someone who has vision in the left eye only, or do you need to be able to see in both eyes for them to be effective?
I was wondering whether the glasses help blind people or people who don`t see well while they are walking out on the streets. Do they direct the person where to go, do they say if there are any obstacles, stairs, etc. Would appreciate an answer.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure about that. These, like many other wearables, simply enhance the vision you have by magnification. They’re basically electronica binoculars.
Is this still the latest version? I have watched a lot of various options, but this seems the best, especially as I am very conscious of having to walk with cyclops glasses in public. Hope to here your response Sam (or anybody else). Thanks! :)
The company is not making this device any longer but some distributors still have units that they are selling. The company has moved on to a VR style headset because the VR style seems to work the best for the most people. I should also mention that you’re not really supposed to walk with any of these wearable devices. They are only for using while you’re stationary performing a task or using them for distance viewing.
Hey Sam. Nice video. A quick reminder; the next time you do a video on glasses like these, PLEASE turn them around so we can see the view finder. I got a question for you. Are the screens positioned very far away from the eyes, or were they nice and close enough to your eyes to see the view? Thank you much. *-----Q-----*
They are positioned pretty close to the eyes, maybe about an inch or so, however I still wasn’t able to see much with them. Of course that’s just my vision impairment. Great tip, I’ll definitely try to remember that next time!
Hey Sam that is a great review I'll have to see if anyone in my local area offers demonstrations. Glad I could probably check with new eyes see you they won't send out a trial pair. I think these probably would work for me I don't have too much central vision issues I do have low vision but the blind areas in my visual field are mostly peripheral. I like these because of their slim design that's the one bad thing about Eastside it just looks so bulky. Another device size seem to really be interested in his the orcam myeye.
Sam my dad has OPA-3, a genetic disorder which causes atrophy of the optic nerve. He is blind in one eye from this and has very limited vision in the other. This is progressive~He's also 86, but loves to read (biggest iPad, largest font). Thoughts? I guess once the optic nerve is shot, there's really nothing much that can help? Thanks for your review~
Hey my fiance went completely blind about a year and a half ago and he has been listening to your videos I don't know how to help him or what would be the best thing to help him be more independent. Can you help us?
Hi Sam, I am new to your channel. I am wondering what your actual vision is. I have only about 2% usable vision due to multiple strokes. If you would be so kind to let me know about how much you actually see. Thanx, Al Ceven
Sure, first though, I’ll mention that I have several videos on this topic available, including a video where I talk about my complete vision story. Everything from diagnosis, going to school, working, etc. I have Stargardt‘s disease, which is a juvenile form of macular degeneration. That means I have no central vision, utilizing only peripheral. This also causes a reduction in colors and night blindness. In my good eye I’m 20/400, and in my bed I 20/850.
hi Sam great video I like that product hope to get it one day or at least try it out for myself. I just thought to share. can you try to do a review on the OrCam? I just found out about that and thought to let you know. hope you can do a review on it. thanks!
Actually if you search for or cam on UA-cam you’ll find my review videos. I have a video reviewing one of the older versions as well as the newest version. I also have a video where I go grocery shopping with the Orcam.
Chelsey here: I have retinopathy of prematurity and I only have vision in my left eye, with the glasses work with one eye? Also how much are the glasses?
I think there around $6000. How much vision do you have in your one eye? To be honest, there may be other devices which only use one screen that would work better for someone with vision in one eye.
It would depend on how large the glasses are but, from my memory, I don’t believe there was enough room underneath the goggles for glasses. I could be wrong about this though, I would recommend contacting the developers and checking with them.
ok so this is awesome, for a first step, its really really cool, still a little short in battery life, but something tells me itll bet better within the decade. price though might be high.
Hello, thanks for the video. I think it is too fiddly with too many buttons and not practical for my 20 year old son with Retinitis Pigmentosa. I was wondering what your opinion is of Ultracane from England?
@@theblindlife Hello from Lisbon, and thank you for the amazing videos and reviews. From my customers' opinions, the UltraCane drawback is to be bulky and heavy, which is tiring after a while.
if a person is mono ocular, is this OLED display going to interfere with my light sensitive in my blind eye? Maybe it is a waste to have two OLED displays when you only have one functional eye
The Blind Life Wow that's alot for a product you aren't sure will work for you. I could get lens implants for $10,0000. But I can really see that being useful on trips for like "sight seeing". Always something I cant fo unless I use binoculars but who can walk around and hold binoculars to their face for hours? Are you able to walk around ok while wearing the glasses?
Hi Shauna, we have had success with some insurance covering up to 85%. We recommend you check with your insurance company. I would love to connect you with one of our reps.
Gary Bartha it’s basically a digital magnifier so it would probably work very well for that. That is of course if it worked for your particular vision impairment. Testing it out would be the only way to know for sure. However, one thing to mention is that I don’t believe they are making this device any longer. So not sure of its availability.
My Central vision Blindspot is so large that the devices with the two small screens don’t work. That’s why iris vision works better for me because it has a much larger screen. That being said, everyone is different, so just because it works for me doesn’t mean it will work for you.
Thank you very much for reviewing this device for low vision users, even as a blind person this product interests me because of the OCR feature. I had a few questions not sure if you could address them but it would also help if you could lead me to their support website so that I can engage with them directly. Here are my questions: Can the speech rate be controlled; this is when the OCR is reading back information to you? Where all in the world do they have their dealership? Do they offer any demo in person or over the counter?Once again thank you so much for your efforts in reviewing technology like the way you do. I am from India and really appreciate your work
thanks for this -I'm looking for something for my mom. she only has limited sight in the one eye, the other eye is completely blind. Will these work with one eye only?
Yes they will. The glasses have a camera that displays the image on two screens, one in front of each eye. So only having one working I will still be fine as the image is the same on each screen.
The Blind Life thank you. Can you please give me your opinion between this unit and the esight 3, which one could work best for a non tech savvy old lady of 86?
Hi Steve Thank you very much for your efforts with this video I am recently visually impaired and am in New Zealand Do you know of any suppliers or possible outlets in New Zealand where I could test these glasses?
My dad has a lot of vision loss after two strokes. Thank you for the review!
I have a pair and they work absolutely amazing
Hi! Can they be used for navigation or for moving around at night time for a VIP with the help of built-in flashlight?
Pleaae, if you dont mind the questions, how much is the cost of this lenses and can be programe with another language?...do you think a 88 years old person can controlled this lenses?

Excellent, as always. I am researching vision assist devices now and need all the help I can get. Keep up the good work, Sam.
Thanks for the review,. How clear is the image on the screen? I have an appointment to demo theses . Thanks Sam
Since I can’t see the image very well, I can’t really say. However, people who can see better than I say that looks pretty good.
The Blind Life what is the range1-14???
My husband has the NuEyes pro and they are life changing for him. He has independence again.

Hello there! The device that’s work the best for me would have to be the iris vision.
are there any glasses for driving for low vision
I tried a lot of such wearables and for me the big plus is the site and weight.
it looks great where I can get it, I am with albinism, does this require training?
Can anyone say if these kind of glasses are fitted for driving a car?
That's a great question.

my son had microphthalmia in both eye can he use this or any other glasses plz help and reply or make video on this

These things look amazing!! They would benefit me loads.Pity I will never be able to afford them.
I have the new eyes they were great for me thanks for sharing this video with us I really appreciate it I didn't know that the new eyes had so many features I never really looked into it. Again thanks for sharing!
Were they real expensive ?
Jordie Le'Forge visor 😀👍👍👍 As someone who has lost 30% of my vision, I could sure use it everyday 😎👍👍👍
Thank you for the review on this!!
Hi. Which would u recommend? Iris vision or NuEyes ? Or other
I can only say what works best for me, which in this case is Iris vision. I recommend you give them both a try though to find out which would be best for you.
Thanks for your effort sir. My mother has Retinitis Pigmentosa. She lost her vision at the age of 25. She is 73 now. Do you think if this device can be useful for her. i wish if she can see me atleast.
SAM, could you please review the NUEYES pro 3 that is shipping the beginning of February 2021. Seems to have some big improvements thanks.
I’ll see what I can do
Does anybody know if there are any firm in Florida or nearby that sells this device?
Great review. Didn't know any of these devices existed. Regarding your comment about your blind spots being too big for device to help: I've got Best disease affecting both eyes and I went to Bejing for stem cell therapy. $18K and no cure but it did shrink my blind spots by about 40% (so far, 21 months now). They're still blocking my view but it did increase my peripheral field. Like you reminded, everybody's situation is unique and it may be an expensive gamble but I wanted to share anyway.
That’s awesome James, thanks! And congratulations on getting some of your central vision back!
Please send info for New Eyes. I am on uTube, & info doesn’t appear. I would like to try these. I live in Fort Myers. Thanks for all you do!
it would be dope if they made something that could help you detect obstacles you would otherwise miss that makes use of a face mounted camera or proximity sensor in conjunction with a rumble motor.
I don’t think so.
did you try it while driving?
Sam, looking to get something for my mom who has macular degeneration, any suggestions on a first pair to try?
I have macular did generation as well and these didn’t work very well for me. If your mom‘s vision is as poor as mine, these types of glasses might not work. I would recommend the iris vision. It’s really the only thing that worked well for me.

Do thse work for Retinopathy of RPrematurity, for someone who has vision in the left eye only, or do you need to be able to see in both eyes for them to be effective?
They simply magnify what the camera sees and display it on the screens. So even if you were only using one eye, it would still work.
Would the Nu eyes read a sound projected onn a screen in church if sitting mid way or back of church
I was wondering whether the glasses help blind people or people who don`t see well while they are walking out on the streets. Do they direct the person where to go, do they say if there are any obstacles, stairs, etc. Would appreciate an answer.
No, they simply magnify. Think of electronica binoculars. Also you’re not supposed to walk around while using them.
Hi Sam. Does this device work for Optic Nerve Atrophy with blurred vision?
Unfortunately, I’m not sure about that. These, like many other wearables, simply enhance the vision you have by magnification. They’re basically electronica binoculars.
Would these help someone with lhon?
Is this still the latest version? I have watched a lot of various options, but this seems the best, especially as I am very conscious of having to walk with cyclops glasses in public. Hope to here your response Sam (or anybody else). Thanks! :)
The company is not making this device any longer but some distributors still have units that they are selling. The company has moved on to a VR style headset because the VR style seems to work the best for the most people. I should also mention that you’re not really supposed to walk with any of these wearable devices. They are only for using while you’re stationary performing a task or using them for distance viewing.
@@theblindlife Thanks a lot Sam. Appreciate your time to respond. Have a great day!
Hey Sam.
Thank you much. *----Q----*
Another device size seem to really be interested in his the orcam myeye.
bluetech7753 Hi @bluetech7753 where do you reside? We may have a rep in your area that offers a free demonstration.
Yes, the optic nerve is probably the most important part. If that’s not working, it doesn’t matter what you put in front of the eyes.
Hey my fiance went completely blind about a year and a half ago and he has been listening to your videos I don't know how to help him or what would be the best thing to help him be more independent. Can you help us?
so does it work on people who cant see at all or just on people who are legally blind who are not really blind but have reduced visibility.
What would you say the difference between Esigt and these glasses are?
These were a little bit easier for me to see and they also have more features like OCR and barcode scanning.
Does it work for a person who totally lost his or her sight
Where can i find out what kinda conventions. Are coming.or going to happen I live in. LA and id like to get my hands on some of those gadgets
hi Sam great video I like that product hope to get it one day or at least try it out for myself.
I just thought to share. can you try to do a review on the OrCam? I just found out about that and thought to let you know. hope you can do a review on it. thanks!
Actually if you search for or cam on UA-cam you’ll find my review videos. I have a video reviewing one of the older versions as well as the newest version. I also have a video where I go grocery shopping with the Orcam.
thanks Sam! will check it out.
It’s difficult to chat in the comments and stuff, so if you send me an email we can talk more about it. The blind life sam@gmail.com
The Blind Life OK I will.
This is actually the ODG R7
Hi Sam, can you explain how these work with prescription glasses
It would depend on how large the glasses are but, from my memory, I don’t believe there was enough room underneath the goggles for glasses. I could be wrong about this though, I would recommend contacting the developers and checking with them.
ok so this is awesome, for a first step, its really really cool, still a little short in battery life, but something tells me itll bet better within the decade. price though might be high.
This is actually an older video, from what I understand, they don’t make those anymore. They have switched over to the VR style headsets.
Hello, thanks for the video. I think it is too fiddly with too many buttons and not practical for my 20 year old son with Retinitis Pigmentosa. I was wondering what your opinion is of Ultracane from England?
Unfortunately I’ve never seen it in person, I’ve only seen videos but it does look interesting. Not sure how practical it would be though.
It’s hard to say. It might not matter though, I’m not sure this device is available anymore.
Is new eyes glasses could be good for people have RP eye condition because I have RP
Thanks
What do they cost.
Carole Bergen, Fort Myers, FL
I saw where he commented below that he thinks they cost around $6,000.
What's the cash price? And do they offer any kind of trial situation?
I believe it’s around $6000 and I don’t think they offer any kind of trial. I could be wrong about that though.
So can my mom use these for everyday to day life challenges can she walk by herself now can she drive now what can she do ??
Sam how does this work for stamp
Collecting???
Gary Bartha it’s basically a digital magnifier so it would probably work very well for that. That is of course if it worked for your particular vision impairment. Testing it out would be the only way to know for sure. However, one thing to mention is that I don’t believe they are making this device any longer. So not sure of its availability.
Please, what to choose for macular degeneration? nu eyes, esight or irisvision? why iris vision are best for you?
My Central vision Blindspot is so large that the devices with the two small screens don’t work. That’s why iris vision works better for me because it has a much larger screen. That being said, everyone is different, so just because it works for me doesn’t mean it will work for you.
Thank you very much for reviewing this device for low vision users, even as a blind person this product interests me because of the OCR feature. I had a few questions not sure if you could address them but it would also help if you could lead me to their support website so that I can engage with them directly. Here are my questions:
Can the speech rate be controlled; this is when the OCR is reading back information to you?
Awesome I wish I had those that would be so helpful
Hi Steve
Thank you very much for your efforts with this video
I am recently visually impaired and am in New Zealand
Do you know of any suppliers or possible outlets in New Zealand where I could test these glasses?
I’m afraid I don’t know what they have available there. I would just try to contact the company via email to see.
price please
