We were there the day after you guys! I was freaking out about the whole process and when it was go time I opened the wrong app at first! I somehow got in and got Boarding Group 40 for my entire party of 13, even with 4 others trying as well. I owe it all to the weeks of practicing and your videos! Thanks guys!
They do when you have young kids and you are trying to push a stroller around the park. Or when those kids are having a meltdown - especially in a line.
Your delusional if you think that. People pay hundreds, sometimes thousands, to have this experience. Unfortunately it is what it is, and yes you are taking a gamble. Just don’t go with set expectations, have a plan yes, but also have backup plans. Don’t let it get you down, and enjoy the time with your family and/or friends. Is it the happiest place on earth? It depends on how you approach it.

Personnally , i go to florida with my family and friend once a year in christmas and i can only go to one park and we chose hollywood studios in winter 2019 but unfortunately we didnt know about the boarding groups so when we wanted to get in rise of the resistance, and we couldnt because of the whole boarding pass situation. So we just did all the other attractions in the park and went back home without riding it. In the end we didnt care that much because we got to ride everything except that but we hope to come back this year and if we do, we will make sure to get the boarding pass. Thank you so much for showing me the whole process and i hope it will help us get on the ride. Love you guys . Keep up the great work !!!
I feel for you guys. To spend all day and not get on is a slight disappointment, the biggest bummer is the pair of red kyber crystals and then to miss out on the one chance to get the black crystal, that felt like a bigger letdown than not getting on RotR (it's almost a tie in the letdown dept). Keep trying and my daughter got surprised by friends who took her to Disneyland this past Friday but they weren't able to get on either. Great video. See you again in the next video.

Holy cow! I take a UA-cam break (just from slight burnout) and come back to find your channel (happily I might add) blown up so big! So congrats on the success! I think we're finally gonna take the plunge this year and plan a Disneyland trip to see all the new Galaxy's Edge stuff and its mostly due to channels like yours and watching all the fun you guys are having at the park! Disney should pay you guys so you can retire from those day jobs! =) Thanks again for the great video... I'm hoping to try and wait out the boarding pass system before we go but who knows how long that will be. I know a certain channel though that I can rely on to let me know when they do switch over =)!
One of the best rides! I got to go on the ride twice last Saturday and I absolutely loved it. I didn't get to join any boarding groups but I heard the cheers in the park at 8 am of the people who got into a boarding group

Went this last Monday just for Rise and Falcon. Boarding groups were filled in less than a minute after opening, we were lucky and got group 68 which boarded at about 3:45 pm. Since we were there for the 9 am opening we were able to ride Falcon with only about a 20 minute wait. Other than Galaxy's Edge being busy the rest of the park was relatively quiet which meant we were able to ride several other attractions.

We were there on the first Sunday. I had Boarding Group 66. Almost got Order 66’d that day. Up at 4 AM. Did not called for our group until 7 PM. My buddy got boarding group 82. They stopped that day at 81. We ended up napping in the car for a couple hours when we realized how slow the progress was going due to downtime. My seven year old was convinced that the entire ride was real. That is how good it was.
This reminds me of when I was in Japan and went to Tokyo Disney Sea really hoping to ride the Journey to the Center of the Earth ride... and it was closed for maintenance the day we went. We still had an awesome time, but that was a big bummer.
This seems really disheartening if you are coming from overseas on holiday and you miss out on this...appreciate you guys doing the leg work for us as well as the tips to help hopefully avoid missing out...I wonder if your food ratings would have been higher if you got on the ride...😉🤷♂️❤️👍
Wanted to thank you guys for the tips on what to do to get on Rise of the Resistance. My wife and I were visiting from out of town and were able to get on every day of our visit. The winning combo seemed to be Downtown Disney Starbucks on their wifi. Thanks again!!

I had the same thing happen yesterday. Nothing loaded at park open. Got boarding group 82. And had a flight in Burbank at 9 to catch back home. Next time I’m force quitting my app ahead of time.
We went this past Thursday, got boarding group 96. Ended up being the last boarding group for the day. We felt extremely lucky to get on the ride. But the anxiety of whether or not we would get to go on started to take over around 6pm. Not annual pass holders, so it was absolutely worth it!
I am guessing it really depends on the status of the app. Someone just login that day, others logged in a few days ago and it expired. Maybe some data needs to be updated in your app while others just download the fresh new app that day. All these things determine whether you need to reopen the app or just simply refresh the page to get things done. To me, I feel like the safest way is to open the app before 8am, make sure everything works fine, check if app can locate you, check if the wifi or data works, then completely close the app. And reboot the app 5 secs before the 8am( maybe 10 secs or more if your smartphone is slow) and follow the steps to get it. Your bounding pass may not be as good as those lucky ones' who just refresh the page to get it. But it increases your chance. In the first time I just refreshed the page to get a 75. The second time I refreshed the page and I pressed the join button and it said "something went wrong" so I screwed up . The third time I did what I said above, and I got 43. Hope it helps.

My secret to getting a good BG was to bring along my Gen Z niece...who texts as fast as she can talk. She has Jedi-like finger speed and got us into Boarding Group 3 (!!!) on Thursday. Yesterday she got us BG 55 after first getting stuck on the Boarding Group page. I sympathize with Kitra; I couldn't even get onto the Join a Boarding page. 😭 Another in our group was told he couldn't join because he wasn't in the park even though we were all past turnstiles. We were running late Friday so just stayed near the Giant Mickey head. I would recommend going deeper into the park to make sure you're inside the Geofence. Luckily, it worked out for us. Amazing ride, btw!!! 👍
I was there that Wednesday and yes it was true the boarding groups were available for at least 20 minutes after opening. The waiting line was no more than 15 minutes to get onto the ride itself
So sorry you didn't get to go on. Cast Members in WDW gave us tips. Definitely have the app before the park opens. Go to My status page and scroll down to refresh. That at times can be quicker. Love that idea of scan in and leave.
Me and my son where at disney hollywood studios in Florida on jan 25th and we got on a boarding group of 139. They ended up sending us a message to return to the ride at 6:25 pm. For that boarding group

My Brooklyn College friends and I went on Jan 21, 2020 in Galaxy Edge, Orlando FL. I'm the only one who started my day at 3:40 am, started driving at 5 am from St Cloud and got to the parking space 6 am. There were already thousands of people at the Gates. They let us in by 6:20 AM. I was able to booked on the Virtual App at 7 am. I was on Group 29. Rise of the Resistance didn't start boarding until noon because it was broken. I got in around 2:30 pm-ish.
Yeah I went last Thursday and it wasn’t as crowded. The line for space mountain was at 15 minutes at one point. Going in the middle of the week is probably the best option.
I was group 99 that day. I barely made it in the cave when I broke down. There was only about 20 people behind me and the rest of the groups were still in the part of the line before they scan you. So I dont think those people got to ride
You should have your Black Kyber Challenge graphic progressively have more and more red spots or crystals just to show how much progress has been made in the hunt!

Disney world has been fun with ROTR. Today was my third time, and I keep seeing more and more stuff each time!! First time I got group 12 which was lucky because I spent a few hours in the park then had to get back to work that afternoon! 2nd time I got 95 and barely got on but it was worth it. (Seriously how could it NOT be worth it) Today I got 3!! 3!!! Single digits kids!!! Good to know I'm successful at at least ONE THING in my life.....
@@siyang2 the 2nd time my app crashed so I got a bad group because I had to shut it down and restart. My strategy currently is to pull the app up at like 2 mins before open and then hit the "find out more" button under ROTR when it rolls to open time. THEN do join group. You can sit in the app hovering waiting for the "join boarding group" to light up, but I think that's what crashed me the 2nd time.
@@siyang2 also make sure all other apps are CLOSED and you're off wifi. Disney wifi is crap and everyone is using it. Other stuff open and/ or keeping the Disney app open can cause it to crash and one crash at the wrong time you're not getting a group!
The way me and my brother have been successful each time we’ve gone: 1. Be in the Disneyland app BEFORE 8 (or 9 depending when pro opens) and make sure you’re in and area where you have good internet 2. Click My Status for the boarding groups and as soon as it hits 8 (or 9) swipe down to refresh the page 3. As soon as it refreshes hit the back button once, then click Join Boarding Group My brother used this method opening day and 1 week after open and it worked both times, and this same method worked for me again on Tuesday! The highest boarding group we’ve gotten doing this was 31.
Yeah. I just got my boarding group. A few tips for us, naive East Coasters with one shot. 1. Definitely get through security by 07:00. Trust me, there will be a nice long line waiting for you after you get your bag checked. 2.Now, here’s the trick: Unless you have “magic hour” then the earliest you can enter Disneyland is 07:30. Time your line so you get to the front. Lines move pretty fast. At 07:30 you’ll see the sign flip from “Magic Hour” to entrance. 3. Turn off wi-fi. The cave entrance at Galaxy’s Edge gives you a pretty good signal. 4. Don’t be frustrated if the “Join the boarding group” doesn’t pop up. I did update my status & join a boarding group option twice at 08:00. Ended up with 74 which the employee said, “Not bad.” So even with technical app issues I got a guaranteed boarding group. Hope that helps someone. 🙂

Yeah, went there for our first, once-of-a-lifetime trip on the Sunday after it opened. Made it in the park with time to spare. When it came to boarding group time right at 8, all of a sudden it didn’t recognize that my husband and I had tickets. Told a CM within the first minute of this to try and fix the issue and was told better luck next time... So we didn’t get a thing. 🤷🏻♀️ it was still amazing to be in DISNEYLAND!

Did you guys go on Saturday the 25th? We were there too and got boarding group 103. We got called at 8:08 PM after the breakdown at 7 PM, then it broke down again at 8:15 PM. They cut off the groups at 106, and then after 2 hours, it was back up and we finally got on at around 10:30 PM. We got to the park at 6:15 AM and the Toy Story lot opened at 6:30 AM. We were in the park shortly after 7 AM. We ended up getting a last minute hotel room and slept from 11 AM to 5 PM and then went back to the park. We had problems with the app because we did not know all the tricks to get the 'join boarding group' to light up. We left early Sunday morning without trying again.
Sad that Families planning for months out, and spending thousands of dollars. Might not get to experience this Fantastic Experience. I got to get on 3 times on three different days in Florida.
Great info on how the whole process works. I can only imagine the amount of coffee drank that day to keep you going...oh and the black crystal will be yours!...someday 😊
It's just speculation on my part, but given how intricate Rise of Resistance is, and because of that, how often the ride can go down, they will probably keep the boarding group system for a while. It will probably stay that way until the ride becomes more reliable with software patches and fine tuning. It's just easier to manage clearing the passengers when the ride goes down if they don't have to contend with standby and fastpass lines as well. Btw, I haven't met you guys yet but, of course we want to help you with the red kyber challenge. I would if I were there.
Do you think you could make a video with a detailed game plan to where it makes sure to get to do all the activities in Galaxies Edge, specifically in one or two days? I’m heading to Galaxies Edge this May and only have a few days to visit the parks, so a cool video showing the do’s don’ts and bits of advice would be really cool to us non-annual pass owners! Brown Studios we were there last week for the first time - it felt very crowded. Also if you’re used to Disney world it will feel crowded as the walking paths and queue lines are much narrower. Mid-week is the best time to go as you’ll have a better experience with less people.
We just got on yesterday at Disneyworld. If I hadn't watched your videos I wouldnt have know to do the boarding groups. They opened at 7 got boarding group 79 and finally rode at 2. It was definitely epic!
So. I was there that day. In fact I was standing to your left when you confirmed 106 was the last group. My buddy and I got there about 30 minutes before you and got group 105! Frustration set in when the said that we may not even get on, depending on how fast they fixed the ride. It got pretty intense for a few as people above 106 we're getting pretty upset. Then you had the few jokers with no boarding pass trying to find the stand by line. Lol. We got in line at 8:12 and after about 90 minutes or more, I can't remember what time they actually let us through. Probably closer to 10pm. When they finally let us go through, one of the cast members walked over to me (I had worked my way to the front of the line) and very quietly told me we could board. Begged us not to run, or walk fast. Asked us not to yell out in excitement as well. Just please slowly show my pass and slowly walk around the corner to the actual line. They were truly worried that a stampede was gonna happen. After being there from 7am and being truly tired. My buddies Iwatch told him we walked almost 13 miles that day. We got on the ride and it was worth the wait. Sorry you didn't get on,but you'll love it when you do. Most tense I have ever been at Disney Lol

So I know it was crazy for us being there so early on opening day but there is something to say about the level of stress that comes with coming at a normal time. We did it the day after y’all tried and I HATED it. Hated that the gates didn’t open till 740. Not nearly enough time to clear the esplanade. Tough times. We got lucky walking in 2 minutes before 8 and got a good group but still. Stress!!!

Yeah it would really suck if you were traveling from afar. That said, if you’re here for multiple days I’m sure you’d get in if you know what to do.

We were running late Friday so just stayed near the Giant Mickey head. I would recommend going deeper into the park to make sure you're inside the Geofence. Luckily, it worked out for us. Amazing ride, btw!!! 👍
I was there that Wednesday and yes it was true the boarding groups were available for at least 20 minutes after opening. The waiting line was no more than 15 minutes to get onto the ride itself

Not really some days are good. One day think it hit in the 50 passes around 5 or 6. It has a quick recovery depending on the issue.
So sorry you didn't get to go on. Cast Members in WDW gave us tips. Definitely have the app before the park opens. Go to My status page and scroll down to refresh. That at times can be quicker. Love that idea of scan in and leave.
Yeah I was in boarding group 172 and got in, by the end of the day I think they got to the 190s.
Me and my son where at disney hollywood studios in Florida on jan 25th and we got on a boarding group of 139. They ended up sending us a message to return to the ride at 6:25 pm. For that boarding group
One staff told me to have the app fully closed until the announcement. It was incredibly useful. I got #4!

My Brooklyn College friends and I went on Jan 21, 2020 in Galaxy Edge, Orlando FL. I'm the only one who started my day at 3:40 am, started driving at 5 am from St Cloud and got to the parking space 6 am. There were already thousands of people at the Gates. They let us in by 6:20 AM. I was able to booked on the Virtual App at 7 am. I was on Group 29. Rise of the Resistance didn't start boarding until noon because it was broken. I got in around 2:30 pm-ish.

Yeah I went last Thursday and it wasn’t as crowded. The line for space mountain was at 15 minutes at one point. Going in the middle of the week is probably the best option.

I was group 99 that day. I barely made it in the cave when I broke down. There was only about 20 people behind me and the rest of the groups were still in the part of the line before they scan you. So I dont think those people got to ride

Disney world has been fun with ROTR. Today was my third time, and I keep seeing more and more stuff each time!! First time I got group 12 which was lucky because I spent a few hours in the park then had to get back to work that afternoon! 2nd time I got 95 and barely got on but it was worth it. (Seriously how could it NOT be worth it) Today I got 3!! 3!!! Single digits kids!!! Good to know I'm successful at at least ONE THING in my life.....

@@siyang2 the 2nd time my app crashed so I got a bad group because I had to shut it down and restart. My strategy currently is to pull the app up at like 2 mins before open and then hit the "find out more" button under ROTR when it rolls to open time. THEN do join group. You can sit in the app hovering waiting for the "join boarding group" to light up, but I think that's what crashed me the 2nd time.
@@siyang2 also make sure all other apps are CLOSED and you're off wifi. Disney wifi is crap and everyone is using it. Other stuff open and/ or keeping the Disney app open can cause it to crash and one crash at the wrong time you're not getting a group!

I think it’s kidda crazy that you have to be there at the same minute the park is opened 🤯
The way me and my brother have been successful each time we’ve gone:
1. Be in the Disneyland app BEFORE 8 (or 9 depending when pro opens) and make sure you’re in and area where you have good internet
2. Click My Status for the boarding groups and as soon as it hits 8 (or 9) swipe down to refresh the page
3. As soon as it refreshes hit the back button once, then click Join Boarding Group
My brother used this method opening day and 1 week after open and it worked both times, and this same method worked for me again on Tuesday! The highest boarding group we’ve gotten doing this was 31.
After you click on My Status and swipe down to refresh, you can stay on that page because it also has a Join Boarding Group on that page.
Yeah. I just got my boarding group. A few tips for us, naive East Coasters with one shot.
1. Definitely get through security by 07:00. Trust me, there will be a nice long line waiting for you after you get your bag checked.
2.Now, here’s the trick: Unless you have “magic hour” then the earliest you can enter Disneyland is 07:30. Time your line so you get to the front. Lines move pretty fast. At 07:30 you’ll see the sign flip from “Magic Hour” to entrance.
3. Turn off wi-fi. The cave entrance at Galaxy’s Edge gives you a pretty good signal.
4. Don’t be frustrated if the “Join the boarding group” doesn’t pop up. I did update my status & join a boarding group option twice at 08:00. Ended up with 74 which the employee said, “Not bad.” So even with technical app issues I got a guaranteed boarding group.

Yeah, went there for our first, once-of-a-lifetime trip on the Sunday after it opened. Made it in the park with time to spare. When it came to boarding group time right at 8, all of a sudden it didn’t recognize that my husband and I had tickets. Told a CM within the first minute of this to try and fix the issue and was told better luck next time... So we didn’t get a thing. 🤷🏻♀️ it was still amazing to be in DISNEYLAND!

So...every time you get a red Kyber or you miss the Rise ride you instead visit a Disney Classic? Excellent addition to the Challenge!
Did you guys go on Saturday the 25th? We were there too and got boarding group 103. We got called at 8:08 PM after the breakdown at 7 PM, then it broke down again at 8:15 PM. They cut off the groups at 106, and then after 2 hours, it was back up and we finally got on at around 10:30 PM. We got to the park at 6:15 AM and the Toy Story lot opened at 6:30 AM. We were in the park shortly after 7 AM. We ended up getting a last minute hotel room and slept from 11 AM to 5 PM and then went back to the park. We had problems with the app because we did not know all the tricks to get the 'join boarding group' to light up. We left early Sunday morning without trying again.
Yeah we were there on the 25th.
Sad that Families planning for months out, and spending thousands of dollars. Might not get to experience this Fantastic Experience. I got to get on 3 times on three different days in Florida.

It's just speculation on my part, but given how intricate Rise of Resistance is, and because of that, how often the ride can go down, they will probably keep the boarding group system for a while. It will probably stay that way until the ride becomes more reliable with software patches and fine tuning. It's just easier to manage clearing the passengers when the ride goes down if they don't have to contend with standby and fastpass lines as well. Btw, I haven't met you guys yet but, of course we want to help you with the red kyber challenge. I would if I were there.

I might go there in March and I’m wondering if you (or anyone in comments) would go for smallest crowds.
Brown Studios we were there last week for the first time - it felt very crowded. Also if you’re used to Disney world it will feel crowded as the walking paths and queue lines are much narrower. Mid-week is the best time to go as you’ll have a better experience with less people.

We just got on yesterday at Disneyworld. If I hadn't watched your videos I wouldnt have know to do the boarding groups. They opened at 7 got boarding group 79 and finally rode at 2. It was definitely epic!

So. I was there that day. In fact I was standing to your left when you confirmed 106 was the last group. My buddy and I got there about 30 minutes before you and got group 105! Frustration set in when the said that we may not even get on, depending on how fast they fixed the ride. It got pretty intense for a few as people above 106 we're getting pretty upset. Then you had the few jokers with no boarding pass trying to find the stand by line. Lol. We got in line at 8:12 and after about 90 minutes or more, I can't remember what time they actually let us through. Probably closer to 10pm. When they finally let us go through, one of the cast members walked over to me (I had worked my way to the front of the line) and very quietly told me we could board. Begged us not to run, or walk fast. Asked us not to yell out in excitement as well. Just please slowly show my pass and slowly walk around the corner to the actual line. They were truly worried that a stampede was gonna happen. After being there from 7am and being truly tired. My buddies Iwatch told him we walked almost 13 miles that day. We got on the ride and it was worth the wait. Sorry you didn't get on,but you'll love it when you do. Most tense I have ever been at Disney

So I know it was crazy for us being there so early on opening day but there is something to say about the level of stress that comes with coming at a normal time. We did it the day after y’all tried and I HATED it. Hated that the gates didn’t open till 740. Not nearly enough time to clear the esplanade. Tough times. We got lucky walking in 2 minutes before 8 and got a good group but still. Stress!!!
I’m going in early May and I’m definitely afraid I won’t be able to experience it.
