So many times in my life, I've had to hear people who just don't *get it* tell me that it's "just a game/movie/show" and I'm too emotionally invested in these things that, by their definition, aren't real or important. This multifandom tribute literally danced across all the high notes of exactly *why* I'm so emotionally invested, along with countless others across the whole freaking planet. The funny thing is those same people are the ones that go thousands of dollars in debt just to go to a ball game and root for people that have no idea who they are and then get stumbling drunk when their team wins or loses and get in a fight with someone that has a different favorite team but thats ok I still remember losing my mind during endgame when that first portal opened my dad just went I dont get it but when his favorite college team wins a game or when he spends all his money on season tickets for said college team or drives to another state to see them play and has the exact same reaction I had but he doesnt get it can someone explain to me how that makes sense
