So weird to think that Madness are a 1 or 2 hit wonder in the US. But here in the UK they still sell out arenas. And i can vouch for how awesome it is to see them in that setting. Just pure happiness and love from thousands of people who are singing along to every word in every song.

Twilight Zone is one of my absolute favorite songs. I remember waiting daaaays for it to play on the radio and being so happy when it did. It didn't get paid much here because of its length. Same with the totality of The Wall. They usually played it on Halloween

Yeah, they fucking rock. I was really surprised to find out they’re barely remembered at all in the US, but then again so many of their songs are so discretely about Aussie politics
As a UK watcher, I appreciate you sticking up for Madness here, Crash. I get the impression they're viewed as nothing more than a novelty stateside but they were so much more. Without Madness, there might not have been bands like Less Than Jake or Sublime but they get unfairly judged as the jokesters who did Our House and as much as I love that song, they have a lot of other great songs too. Songs like One Step Beyond, My Girl, Embarrassment, Baggy Trousers, Wings of a Dove, Michael Caine, The Sun and the Rain, The Prince, Night Boat to Cairo and especially House of Fun are very fondly remembered in the UK so hopefully you've encouraged a few people to dig into the band beyond their entry level US hits.

Crash, you really make the most interesting hour-long videos about music on UA-cam! Never hard to get through to the end, you have an excellent way of scripting these things. Obviously lot of hard work goes into your output, as a total music nerd i appreciate it so much! 😃 By the way, Fishbone made an amazing cover of Freddie's Dead, i think it's one of those few better than the original.
Veeeeeery much appreciate the inclusion of Blue Öyster Cult - as someone who indeed did pick up a Best Of collection from them around 12-ish years ago after hearing "Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll" on Guitar Hero III, I can safely say that songs like "Godzilla", "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" and "Joan Crawford" are phenomenal. They deserve way more love than just that one SNL skit, especially since I found out not long ago that they have a new album coming out this October. Also, all this talk of Crowded House, particularly showing the album cover for 1991's Woodface, and yet no mention of the catchy singalong titan of "Weather With You"? Awww, that song's brilliant!
Agreed. My dad actually turned me on to them at a very early age. One of the few bands we actually both liked. Also, shit. I don't know how that could have slipped my mind.
On the same topic, I decided to do some research on why rush could be considered a one hit wonder, since Crash mentioned only one song charted on the top 40. I figured it would be a very famous song like Tom sawyer, limelight, fly by night, spirit of radio closer to the heart or even subdivisions or time stands still... it was new world man... Americans are sooooooo weird
Thank you so much for giving love to Turnstall, Madness, PUSA, Vega (although I'm surprised you didn't mention her 'I can't believe she produced this' album 99.9F), and BNL. I will say in regards to the latter that I think the band did start to suffer after MAROON, and has never been the same once Page 'left' the group. There's a bite to BNL prior to the departure that just isn't there anymore, and I mourn the passing of that band that made those first six or seven albums....
@@kylehegedus5498 Understandable the drug scandal played a big part into him leaving but I wished the band could patch things up with him considering he is a part of their start
I've had this weird craving for a cover of "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" as like a power metal kinda deal. I know that sounds weird but like. "NOOOOOOOOOOOO NO" (with furious double bass drum kicks and heavy layered vocals) I think that'd be pretty sweet
As someone who has had to deal with depression pretty much all my life, "Pinch Me" is a very important song to me. I have always read it as a song about fatigue and apathy and just having problems getting up and trying to be productive on a day-by-day basis. It's not just "One Week" 2.0 for me. But we all read different things in any given piece of media.
‘A Choppy, Yet Sincere Apology’ by Riverboat Gamblers is my depression song. I’ve actually never thought of Pinch Me in that way but gave it a listen and I can definitely see it. BNL did a song called When I Fall off their (ridiculously underappreciated) album Born on a Pirate Ship that hits those same notes too.
A one hit wonder that you need to check out is Deep Blue Something. They had three hits, but the only one that people remember is Breakfast at Tiffany’s, which is a shame, because it’s one of their lesser songs. Their first album is meh, but their second third and fourth are amazing! I adore their music and they even have a new EP and single out too! Highly recommended.
@@HolyGoddessMotherAnne Some people I talk to debate on Beck but as my two arguements: 1. Loser in 1994 is his biggest hit reaching the top 10 2. Two of his followups barely got higher than the mid 60's. Heck one of his songs in 2005 called Girl barely scraped in at number 100
@@justinstickler873 It is! I LOVE Vertical Horizon! One of the most underrated bands of the last 20 years. Just saying radio seems to only play those 2 songs.
Nice video as always Crash! Your "I love this song" on hook is what got me into blues traveler. Also not only did I find out my dad loves blues travelers, he also saw them live multiple times at a bar in New York before they became more popular with the album Four.
I gotta say I was really confused when Crowded House came up, I could probably name more then at least 5 other hits they had. But then I remembered, oh wait i'm an Aussie, and along with INXS and Midnight Oil, Crowded House is one of those bands that are like embedded into us at birth. That goes Doubly for INXS. I picked up a record of Kick for the first time, cause I really liked New Sensation and Kick, but man I swear I knew almost every song off that record. Man classic Aussie music doesn't get enough love nowadays. Check out Hoodoo Gurus if you're into Midnight Oil, they're less political and more rocky.
If you haven’t found it already, search for “Tom’s Diner Top 2000 a gogo” . This is a 6 minute video from a Dutch channel,(so make sure you get the English version with Dutch subtitles btw😅👍), but all the story telling is done by Suzanne herself and is DEFINITELY worth a watch😎👍
My dad was in college in the 80s, so he got pretty into stuff like English Beat, The Specials, Madness, and other 2-tone ska groups, as well as stuff like Television and Talking Heads. I actually first learned about “college rock” from him
You're extremely lucky. My dad was a bluegrass player (was since the age of 14). So my earliest memories of music were the last thing anyone outside of 70 year-olds in Kentucky in 2001-2005 was hip to (he was in his early-30s at the time, surprisingly). Walking into my house was like stepping into a time warp. But then again, if I had a father that was deep into the college scene, I would've resented him for it, too.
fellow indiana living sad man. i’m here to also say, tom’s diner video plz. this is something i read into and it’s a super fun subject, keep up the good work man!
Keeping up with the subject of Madness, I have to mention their song The Liberty of Norton Folgate which honestly at 10 minutes proved to me that they were more than an novelty act. The fact that this song and it's equally great album of the same title came out decades after their prime showed how great they could still be. Much love for KT Tunstall as well, her debut album was the first one I had bought by a female artist, pulling my head out of my ass thankfully on that note.
@@afroheadwes @CrashThompson - Not only was in on the Adult Top 40 rather than the Hot 100, it did not chart in 1996, but in 2000, well after "One Week." Then again, it wasn't released as a U.S. single, so, in the spoken words of the song, "Can you blame 'em?" (They did have hit albums in the U.S. before "One Week," though; arguably their live album was their crossover moment here.)
Gary Wright: Dream Weaver and Love Is Alive Edgar Winter Group: Free Ride and Frankenstein The Romantics: What I Like About You and Talking in Your Sleep The Greg Kihn Band: The Break-Up Song and Jeopardy Squeeze: Tempted and Hourglass Sheila E.: The Glamorous Life and Love Bizzare 10cc: I’m Not In Love and The Things We Do For Love Spin Doctors: Two Princes and Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong
Aussie here, and I can confirm that Crowded House are a lot more celebrated at home, I was born in 2006 and when you played that snippet of Don’t Dream It’s Over, I was struck by the nostalgia truck, heard it ALL the time as a kid despite it being decades old at that point
It got into the HM’s but I instantly thought of Kim Wilde in the most “had two hits and exactly two hits in the U.S.” catagory. She had the perfect synth sound to attract at least that much attention.
Kim Wilde's cover of You Keep Me Hanging On reminds me of another synth cover of the 80's: Listen To The Radio by Pukka Orchestra and that song is originally by Atmospherics
As always Crash, an absolutely fantastic, entertaining and informative video! - MAJOR RESPECT and props for highlighting and singing the praises of Barenaked Ladies, one of my favorite bands of all time, and one of the most underrated and under-appreciated acts out there!! YOU GET IT. Keep up the good work my friend, I always eagerly await your long-form vids, I eat up every second.
Great video, I've been wanting someone to do a 2 hit wonder video for a long time. You were right about Skid Row, they were a great live band. I got to see them with Pantera in 1992 and they more than held their own that night.
Crash, I have to hand it to you my man: I owe it all to you for getting me into Barenaked Ladies. I knew of them before you praised them in this vid, but last year was the fruition of that. Gordon was a great debut, but I ADORE Stunt (Call and Answer has straight up become one of my favorite songs of all time, period). These Canadian bois juggle happy-go-lucky energy and crushing seriousness (Break your Heart, and even Pinch me) so damn well.
I almost had a heart attack when Crowded House came up as I truly love that band but yeah, I really recommend people also check out Crowded House's 2007 album "Time On Earth" and their 2010 album "Intriguer" along with the four earlier albums..check out all six studio albums..lol... I rate "Woodface" as Crowded House's best album (The band brought Neil Finn's brother Tim on board for that one) just ahead of the debut album. Deepcuts from Crowded House albums I recommend, one from each album: "Love You Til the Day I Die" (from "Crowded House") "Whispers and Moans" (from "Woodface") "In My Command" (From "Together Alone") "Never Be The Same" (From "Temple of Low Men") "Silent House" (The song Neil co wrote for the Dixie Chicks but it also ended up on "Time On Earth") "Archer's Arrows" (from "Intriguer") Fun Fact "Better Be Home Soon" was Crowded House's biggest hit in Australia, it peaked at number two on the Australian singles chart in 1988. Beaten to number one by John Farnham's "Age of Reason". "Don't Dream It's Over" would only peak at number eight in 1987. I think there was some talk of new music from the band a few months ago, they were hinting at it when they announced their now sadly postponed European tour dates due to the pandemic so yeah Crowded House are still around. Also worth pointing out another Aussie act called Icehouse had a hit in the late 80s with "Electric Blue"
Here's a few more: Lucious Jackson(minor hit - "Here" from the Clueless Soundtrack, Major Hit-"Naked Eye") Glass Tiger(Major Hit- Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone(featuring Bryan Adams) minor Hit- "Someday")
Technically Fuel are a two hit wonder because both Shimmer and Hemorrhage (In My Hands) were highly successful songs. But they also had Bad Day and Falls On Me which were moderately known, and also Won't Back Down, Quarter and Sunburn which were featured in the soundtracks to Daredevil, Need For Speed Underground, NASCAR Thunder and Scream 3. But those two songs still ended up being their most popular.
Okay, now I really want to see you make a Top 10 Canadian bands list, if only because I want to hear you talk about a certain band on the bottom half of my profile pic 😉
Great video, Crash. It's nice to see another interesting Top 10 list ✌️ My pick is way more obscure. It's a band called The Chills which two "hits" Pink Frost and Heavenly Pop Hit are at constant rotation atm.
"Most anyone can stumble into one hit..." *Me sitting here staring at a Jackson that wont write me an automatic classic* "Why won't you do work?!" Great video by the way man. Its easy to tell you put a decent amount of research into ur vids
Crash, you should make this into a series covering the each of the more interesting artists in their own episodes. also one band you may not realize is a two hit wonder (by your rules) is Golden Earring. older I know but Twilight Zone and Radar Love both still hold up very well
A two-hit wonder that just came to mind: SR-71. Their first hit Right Now was a pop punk song, kinda sounds like a Sum 41 song. I remember it was in pretty much every early 2000s teen movie lol. Then a couple years later they did a nu metal song called Tomorrow when Linkin Park first got big. It's interesting how different the 2 songs are.
I ended up listening to "Tomorrow" after watching Todd In The Shadows' one hit wonderland video on them. Ended up enjoying that song a lot. Guess I have a soft spot for that era of Nu Metal in places. It is weird to me though since there was no real transition between the two sounds.
@@bracket-neutron I think Tomorrow's alright, but I'll admit it sounds so much like LP it hurts lol. And yeah, I grew up in that time so I have a soft spot for nu metal too (and pop punk), even though I realize some of that stuff hasn't aged well... at all haha.
I always consider SR-71 as a three hit wonder given they originally recorded & wrote “1985”, it’s just that version didn’t get released to NA until they had changed a few lyrics & given it to Bowling For Soup. Mitch Allen is even in the music video for BFS’s version! And while BFS’s version has the better tempo, SR’s has the better lyrics, actually focusing on Debbie.
Another two-hitter that I like quite a lot is Joshua Kadison (‘Jessie’ and ‘Beautiful In My Eyes’). He’s a lot more AC than rock, but he has a great knack for storytelling through character vignette-type songs and putting together these delightful piano passages. The album with his two hits, ‘Painted Desert Serenade’ demonstrates these abilities incredibly well.
Barenaked Ladies did the soundtrack for a Stratford Festival performance of As You Like It. Yeah, they took Shakespeare's lyrics and set them to folksy indie rock. It's...good. Better than it has any right to be.
25:52 VFL/AFL player Mark Jackson (aka Jacko). He did an interview recently which can be seen on video ''Mark ‘Jacko’ Jackson’s Open Mike interview.'' He's still intense, but not in the jovial way that he was in the 80's. He was not a happy-chappy in that interview.
Glad to see Crowded house on here, they're legit one of my favourite bands of all time and their self titled album is one of my favourite as well, I also appreciate seeing Kim Wilde on here even though she was a big deal where I'm from, my favs from her aside from her two big Billboard hits include "Cambodia," "View from a bridge," "Chequered love," "You came" and even her cover of "If I can't have you" from Yvonne Elliman
I hope you have the band "Live" on the list. Lightning Crashes and I Alone are great but I must say, I'm a bit sick of those two songs, seeing that those are my mom’s favorite songs. Time to check out the rest of that album. EDIT: oh my thank you for reminding me about The President of the United States of America! Peaches is my mom’s guilty pleasure song. And I’m very excited to check out KT Tunstall and Madness
Throwing Copper is absolutely brilliant start to finish Recommend checking out their first album Mental Jewelry and their follow up Secret Samadhi too They are also a three hit wonder, All Over You charted at 33 and Selling the Drama came three short of cracking the Top 40,
I haven't thought about a two hit wonder before now. However, I have thought about one album wonders where a band has a phenomenal debut but their output almost disappeared afterwards. Ex: Hootie and the Blowfish
100% agree with you on Finger Eleven. Tip and The Greyest of Blue Skies are amazing hidden gem albums but were overlooked, which is so damn depressing. Self-titled was good too but I think Stay In Shadow and Good Times should have been the big hits off of the album. One Thing was just a soft ballad and Paralyzer is forever associated with early UA-cam videos and Quagmire Toilet memes.
I am EXTREMELY glad you gave Skid Row respect, they absolutely rule with Sebastian Bach. Anyway, here's some two hit wonders: Ratt - Round And Round, Lay It Down Great White - Once Bitten Twice Shy, Angel Song Tesla - Love Song, Signs Switchfoot - Meant To Live, Dare You To Move White Lion - When The Children Cry, Wait Eve 6 - Inside Out, Here's To The Night Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Right Round, Brand New Lover Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane, Wind Of Change Extreme - More Than Words, Hole Hearted Audioslave - Be Yourself, Like A Stone MCR - Helena, Welcome To The Black Parade what else?
My Top 12 Two-hit Wonders Ever: 12. Cum on feel the noise & Mental health (Quiet Riot) 11. 2 princes & Little miss can't be wrong (Spin Doctors) 10. Radar Love & Twilight Zone (Golden earing) 9. What I like About You & Talking in Ur Sleep (The Romantics) 8. Runaway Train & Misery (Soul Asylum) 7. Carry on Wayword son & Dust in the wind (Kansas) 6. (Don't Fear) the reaper & burning 4 U (Blue Oyster Cult) 5. 18 & life & I remember U 4. Lump & Peach (Presidents of the U.S.A.) 3. Don't Dream it's over & So strong (Crowded House) 2. Run Around & Hook (Blues travelers) 1. Semi-charmed life & Jumper (3rd Eye blind)
My husband’s last name is Sebastian and he’s really into thrash metal. He also has long hair and a very angular jaw like Sebastian Bach so for the longest time his work nickname was Sebastian Bach.
25:08 I see your John Popper and raise you a Howard Levy. Levy played harp and keys in the original iteration of the Flecktones and wrote a goddam CONCERTO for Harmonica and Orchestra.
Wow. Honestly floored (and I don't even really know why) to see Suzanne Vega here. She is one of those rare cases where I say with no hesitation - if you want to get into her stuff, go get her Retrospective album. It's how I got into her, and any artist who can fill an album with 21 tracks and have (to my mind) only one that even approaches "sub-par" (sorry, never been a fan of "Calypso") is an artist to watch. My personal favourite song of hers is actually way newer than any of her hits - it's "Penitent" off her 2001 album Songs in Red and Gray.

We had a copy of Eye to the Telescope, we wore that CD out. It was so good!
Edit: my mistake, was actually Drastic Fantastic. But we did love both.
Thomas Deja Nailed it!!!! BNL hasn’t been the same since he “left.”
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO NO"
(with furious double bass drum kicks and heavy layered vocals)
I think that'd be pretty sweet
I can see that
She stole that "woohoo" from The Pointer Sisters' "Neutron Dance".
Is your username a fucking Beck ref?
@@HolyGoddessMotherAnne Yes! Yes it is!
@@cloudskat3r Cool,I also like Beck, need to get into more of his stuff.
@@HolyGoddessMotherAnne Some people I talk to debate on Beck but as my two arguements:
1. Loser in 1994 is his biggest hit reaching the top 10
2. Two of his followups barely got higher than the mid 60's. Heck one of his songs in 2005 called Girl barely scraped in at number 100
"Let me know if that's something you'd want to watch"
Crash....dude....yes. Everytime you ask that, the answer is yes.
2 words: Vertical Horizon
He is everything you want
He is everything you need
He is everything inside of you that you wish you could be
You're a God > Everything You Want. Just sayin' lol.
Gotta think that we are counting "Grey Sky Morning" as a "feels like a third hit," because otherwise this was a major oversight leaving them out.
I'm Still Here is a GREAT song
@@justinstickler873 It is! I LOVE Vertical Horizon! One of the most underrated bands of the last 20 years. Just saying radio seems to only play those 2 songs.
I seriously expected Oingo Boingo to be on this list.
I'm surprised you didn't mention The Rembrandts or Spin Doctors.
Spin Doctors get way too much hate. Man Pocket Full of Kryptonite is one of the best albums of the 90's
@@theboulderboulded5776 And their later stuff is actually pretty decent.
But do they have one hit or two?
Speaking of which...
What about The Knack?
@@MBF78 not sure about remembrandts, but Spin Doctors only have Two Princes and Little Miss Can't be Wrong
Check out Hoodoo Gurus if you're into Midnight Oil, they're less political and more rocky.
... And now I wanna learn the full story of Tom’s Diner...
edit: I appreciate the Game Grumps reference in the Madness section!
The House meme? I forgot about that; when you mentioned them, all I thought of was Arin's rendition of Run Around...
Search "Arin too perfect Hanson".
@@gothicadam6476 Noted, I might need to check it out. Thanks!
So...as regards Madness videos are you in fact saying “hey you! don’t watch that, watch this”? 😁
I, in fact, saw what you did there. 😎
You are so underrated and deserve tons of subscribers!
This is kind of the big brother of One Hit Wonderland
fellow indiana living sad man. i’m here to also say, tom’s diner video plz. this is something i read into and it’s a super fun subject, keep up the good work man!
“Kiss Me Where It Smells Funny” is one hilarious lyrical line.
Also I will say 19:00 John Mayer’s first 2 albums Room For Squares and Heavier Things were pretty good at least I think.
Listen to Try and tell me that dude can't play the fucking guitar
You're telling me "If I Had $1000000" wasn't a hit in the States?
It wasn't. Believe it or not. I don't think they had a proper hit over here I'm any capacity until Old Apartment hit the alternative charts
@@CrashThompson It was all over the radio when that song came out. A simple wikipedia search can show it charted at #37 on the top 40 in 96.
@@afroheadwes On the Adult Top 40
That's not the Billboard Hot 100.
I have Wikipedia too mate.
If it means anything, If I Had $1000000 was the theme song for the New York State Lottery for a while.
TPOTUSOA are just an amazing band, thank you so much for bringing them up! 🤘
I really love the original Tom's Diner
Also Pinch Me is one my favorite BNL tracks
Same
Dude, same. Both versions of Tom's Diner really slap and so does Pinch Me. The Barenaked Ladies have a lot of good tracks.
Gary Wright: Dream Weaver and Love Is Alive
Edgar Winter Group: Free Ride and Frankenstein
The Romantics: What I Like About You and Talking in Your Sleep
The Greg Kihn Band: The Break-Up Song and Jeopardy
Squeeze: Tempted and Hourglass
Sheila E.: The Glamorous Life and Love Bizzare
10cc: I’m Not In Love and The Things We Do For Love
Spin Doctors: Two Princes and Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong
Dammit Crash. Crowded House sounded cool so I listened to Don’t Dream it’s Over and now someone put tears in my eyes.
Great concept for a video Crash, hope this spawns more Two-Hit Wonder videos within the community. Always great to hear others tastes on niche topics.
Gordon is legitimately one of my favourite albums of all time. Thank you.
Wish you did a video on the Waves of Ska (and how Ska came before Reggae lol)
We need Crash to cover more Ska!!
@@Karmy. Hell yeah. He doesn't talk too much about Ska bands.
Agreed. I have also always wanted to hear his opinion on 311
Great video, I've been wanting someone to do a 2 hit wonder video for a long time.
These Canadian bois juggle happy-go-lucky energy and crushing seriousness (Break your Heart, and even Pinch me) so damn well.
fun. a two hit wonder? Does no body remember Carry on? It peaked at #20.
Maybe a three-hit wonder then? lol
No
I almost had a heart attack when Crowded House came up as I truly love that band but yeah, I really recommend people also check out Crowded House's 2007 album "Time On Earth" and their 2010 album "Intriguer" along with the four earlier albums..check out all six studio albums..lol... I rate "Woodface" as Crowded House's best album (The band brought Neil Finn's brother Tim on board for that one) just ahead of the debut album.
Deepcuts from Crowded House albums I recommend, one from each album:
"Love You Til the Day I Die" (from "Crowded House")
"Whispers and Moans" (from "Woodface")
"In My Command" (From "Together Alone")
"Never Be The Same" (From "Temple of Low Men")
"Silent House" (The song Neil co wrote for the Dixie Chicks but it also ended up on "Time On Earth")
"Archer's Arrows" (from "Intriguer")
Fun Fact "Better Be Home Soon" was Crowded House's biggest hit in Australia, it peaked at number two on the Australian singles chart in 1988.
It's my life and livin' on a prayer are my favourite two hit wonders
Oh,Bon Jovi? Yeah their stuff is p alright,Wanted Dead or Alive is a good song and I love the fact it showed up in the first Rock Band.
Here's a few more:
Lucious Jackson(minor hit - "Here" from the Clueless Soundtrack, Major Hit-"Naked Eye")
Glass Tiger(Major Hit- Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone(featuring Bryan Adams) minor Hit- "Someday")
Four was my favorite album growing up.
This channel is criminally underrated!
These top ten lists you do get me through every time a new one comes out. Awesome video crash!
Okay, now I really want to see you make a Top 10 Canadian bands list, if only because I want to hear you talk about a certain band on the bottom half of my profile pic 😉
He should listen to one of my favorite mid 90s Canadian band, hHead
Great video, Crash. It's nice to see another interesting Top 10 list ✌️
My pick is way more obscure. It's a band called The Chills which two "hits" Pink Frost and Heavenly Pop Hit are at constant rotation atm.
Dude you’re looking great, so happy for you!!
"Most anyone can stumble into one hit..."
*Me sitting here staring at a Jackson that wont write me an automatic classic*
"Why won't you do work?!"
Great video by the way man.
Germany love Kim Wild ^^
And she has a own Radio Show in Germany
And a great Song with Nena
I love fall at your feet. I discovered it when axis of awesome used it in their 4 chord song
I am an American from Flint, Michigan and I love everything Madness ever produced. An excellent band! Another favorite band of mine is Ween, so ...
haven't even watched much of the video yet but the phase "pedantic panties" deserves a like alone, well done sir
"I love this song: Tom's Diner" I would watch it.
Hey Barenaked Ladies is a fun band, and their concerts are great.
Barenaked Ladies did the soundtrack for a Stratford Festival performance of As You Like It. Yeah, they took Shakespeare's lyrics and set them to folksy indie rock. It's...good. Better than it has any right to be.
To me, BNL are the band that wrote a song about a window cleaner, of all things... and it's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Hey Now, Hey Now!
Throwing Copper is absolutely brilliant start to finish
Recommend checking out their first album Mental Jewelry and their follow up Secret Samadhi too
They are also a three hit wonder, All Over You charted at 33 and Selling the Drama came three short of cracking the Top 40,
Y4123 thanks for the recommendation!
The 2 hit wonder is something i have never thought about. Great topic.
I haven't thought about a two hit wonder before now. However, I have thought about one album wonders where a band has a phenomenal debut but their output almost disappeared afterwards. Ex: Hootie and the Blowfish
Other two hit wonders I've always thought about - Rick Astley, Soul II Soul, Corrine Bailey Rae. All of them more popular overseas of course.
That Bloodhound Gang bit 😂😂😂
Ok so serious ting big up yuhself! Love this channel, just added SO much music to my Spotify playlist, thank you for the great content!

12:41 I did not need to be reminded of that song's existence.
