I'd like to see how the turf turned out afterwards. Kudos on your wife not being one of those wives that says this isn't girl's work and watches you work all day alone. I'd like to have seen more of how you cleared the yard to start with too. Overall though, great job.
Awesomely, I have one of these wives too! I rented a sod cutter and I'm removing the top 2 inches of soil before redoing my lawn and redoing the grade. This morning before I got out of bed she had gone out on her own and shoveled a few rows of old sod into the trailer. Man, I have an amazing wife too!
You dont even have to do all that just rake the soil up loose if it a hot day wet it then throw the seeds down give it a little walk over then water it everyday just dont overwinter it
