You should actually heat the ore that has 2 parts first, then add the 1. You don’t have to worry about burning because the quality resets once the ores are mixxed
48:17 final pro tip: the hill of the ancestors is the best place to farm skill points. You need to save up 600k coins, to buy 6 warriors, but each fight they win will give you 500 skill points. After the first battle, you can buy more fighters from the hill of the ancestors for 100 skill points instead of 100k coins. There are 13 fights total, 500 skill points each, giving up to 6500 skill points. More than enough to max out all skills. However, once you complete the last battle you can no longer buy warriors with skill points, youll have to spend gold. This is important because if you want to get that title the governor was talking about, you need 10 million coins. Easiest way to make that is winning the gold tournament for 2.5 mil per tournament. If you can still buy warriors for skill points, you'll hit 10 mil a bit faster.
3:50 pro tip: you can stock up on inventory at night, fill the racks before you sleep. Also, don't worry about not having enough money for rent. You can pause the story by simply not completing the current quest, the last one for ch.1 is a bald woman with black lipstick.. as long as you don't finish her quest, you can keep going for as many days as you want. It's possible to unlock all of the skills, have 15 "employees" and every shop upgrade before you pay rent.
@DigiKing223 😂 bro didn't see all my comments.. It's subtle, but the ".." after I describe the assassin, was intended to be a nod to the future. I was pretty certain before I even clicked on the video, exactly what was going to happen. The title and thumbnail tell the story, if you know what's coming in the game.
Drae, for the merchant president, vote for big sister or you'll stuck in the long run. Also gold respawn everytime you reenter the town. There's two path that you will take on the next chapter and you better read carefully before making any choices in the dialogue trees because it is easy to bricked your game if you didn't do so. I finished this game after 40 hours and you are barely 30% of the main story. P/s: slaves are busted, but make sure you have at least 3 slaves running your anvil at all times, they started very bad but by times, they will generate you good money.
@drae forged in fire has a time limit of 4 hours. It takes around 24 hours to anneal a blade. (The process of annealing is to heat it up past quenching temperature, then let it cool really, really slowly by burying it in ash, kinda like a reverse quench.)
@@anthonyzeedyk406 Which makes sense because Iron was formed in the center of a star, and has been glowing hot many times for probably thousands of years at a time before it got to the blacksmith's forge to be heated once again. Not to mention the smelting and refining process.
@@slipsonic809 Definitely nothing in a forge can break up the iron atoms themselves, but every time you heat up a piece of iron in an oxygen rich atmosphere you increase the rate of oxidation. So there is a bit of loss and that limits the number of times you can keep heating and cooling it like that.
yea, making bulk is the way to go. Especially when you start with potions, since the way it works is you pour the potion into the quenching barrel . And the potion in the quenching barrel will last until you go to sleep. So you can really make 1 potion last a very long time. And you can assembly line only pommels and guards in one material, store them in the chest by the ores, and then whenever you want just make blades and assembly. And about the alloy making. You dont HAVE to melt every ore at the same time. You can melt the hard ones with high temp first and then drop in the ores with lower melting temp so you dont loose any quality
Just going to give you a cheese strat, small golden maces. They sell for like 20-25k, selling at 15%. Mine the gold at the bottom of the hill until you can afford a slave for 50k. Get them to mine the gold for you. And you'll make rent in a day
You're about to realise that the game's story gets a whole lot deeper. It's much easier to make it through once you get slaves - I would start with one blacksmith slave and one gold miner. Once you have three blacksmith slaves you won't need to worry about money again. Loving the series Drae!
Hey Drae, for weapons/blades that you want to use a different metal for, you can just use the expensive gold-type metals for the pommel and guard to increase the price. It's not as high as a purely gold weapon, but it's good enough. Books don't give you special perks/skills, but they teach you actually useful stuff like which metal type creates which hidden synergies. With regards to re-quenching in real life, it's not true that more than a single quench will just make the blade brittle. Multiple quenching is doable but it's just that there is a limit since different materials react to different amounts and levels of heating and cooling cycles.
the way to avoid burning the lowest melting point ore, its melting the ore with higher melting point first, so that when you put the lowest melting point ore, it turns into the alloy, and then you put the temperature based not in the ore anymore, but the alloy.
Drae, optimal quench temp (in this game) is 530*C. If you wait at the quench barrel until it reaches 530 and just full send the dunk, you’ll always get 99% (not 99% red)
Do the upgrade that gives you more ore inventory and spend more rime at the mine, you can find like 3-4 gold a day cosnistently if you break all the bottom rocks.
Keep up the hard work drae! Please also remember you can store the crucible in your inventory when its held with the tool and it wont degrade the ore or loose temp if you have another tool selected
lift yourself up with the top of the furnace theres something on the roof and definitely get all the weapon parts also moraka ore is the best ore that ive found you could have also gone to the guards with the stranger that you made the dagger for
Drae you can make spare parts with extra ore in bucket.Keep them in the chest near the ore table.Use them to make extra weapons.Keep playing this game the quests get better
when mining since night doesn't end until you sleep, its worth mining everything since there's a chance to get 2 ores from each rock. you can fill up the cart with max amounts of every type.
Drae, let me tell you, I'm new to your channel, and my new biggest regret was taking the time to wait for the Medieval Blacksmith videos, when you have blessed me with other videos to watch, my new favorite UA-camr.
Drea it would be a good idea to stay up in the night to make all your blades, and maces being the easiest to make are definitely the smartest idea. Just try it out a bit
irl you can normalize steel aswell, quenching makes it more brittle and harder ofcourse, but then reheating the steel and let it slowly cool down actually normalizes the steel to a point where it is no longer that brittle,
Idk if they fixed this just yet, but if you go buy a potion from the Potion Maker, the potion is kinda infinite, so you don’t have to worry about wasting the potion when quenching your weapons and ending up having to buy the potion making set. Reply if I’m wrong😅.
First video I’ve seen from you and definitely enjoyed it. I like the fact that you don’t swear even when you’re reading it. I look forward to the next episode. Hopefully no reruns of Baldy-McEyeshadow and revenge for speaking about the red coin. Somehow, I have an odd suspicion that because she’s bald you’re going to find her on that mission to quell unrest with your religious status and it was a cult hit of some kind.
btw there is much more ore hidden inside the bolders, usually a bolder has 2/3 ore. Also, for me gold spawns every day, so mine the bolders that dont have visibe ore. there might be gold inside them :)
So drea here’s a tip when combining two metals. Melt the hotter one first and when that is done quick drop the colder one in and it should give you a better result
At 31:26 you didn't fully submerge the dagger, the very tip of the handle was sticking out. You can see the quench progress in top left while quenching
The "rare" ores are mixed with some others. The black/dark ore (forgot name) comes with iron (witch is the upper location) silver comes there as well.. but admittedly the upper area has a LOT of iron ores, usually if you do not see any ore on the outside, there seems to be a higher probability of rare ore inside it. I would advise going out mining at night, gather everything untill those spesific ores are full without spent talents you can gather 5 of every ore, its a good idea to invest in getting more ore storage fast, so you can grab more and make more stuff quickly. If you are full up on iron, ignore the rocks with clear iron and hack only the non visible ones. Usually i end up with full gold. copper, iron and the red kha something and blue T something ores, and then some others as well. Coal is dirt cheap, so you could buy it, but in the start of the game money is better spent on better equipment etc. so mining everything (but the wood) is highly advisable. After mining at night you can smith out full racks of swords spears daggers and war picks etc.. making a few cheap models and some more expensive ones. Just put one of every type of weapon you can make in your storage racks as well and when all your racks are full you sleep and start the day.. Honestly i have not had empty racks since day 2 of the game. the big money makers ofc are expensive weapons, but reputation points are infinitely of more value, and this you can quickly grind out with cheap stuff (both craft and sell)
7:43 whatever ore pours in first is what the game calls it. It can be 1% gold 99% copper and it will say it's gold. The quality will be "junk" though. It also doesn't matter what you mix in, it will always reduce the price because the game sees it as low quality. You can cheese it a little if you do say 80%+ gold and 20% copper but the value will decrease, because the quality of that section will be like 70%ish. I would only recommend this on the guard/pommel not the blade.

If you want to min max, you can get the weight of blade without adding the handle, divide it by the density of ore and you'll get exact amount of volume of ore you need. Every ore is 0.10 liters. Especially useful giving slaves weapon designs because they use extra ore even if it's 0.01 liters more than multiples of 0.10. So you can get a design with 0.19 liters of ore so they use 2 ores. Doesn't matter much for cheaper ores but for useful for gold etc.
With the title and first 6 minutes something tells me you must’ve got to the point where you pay rent and see the event in town I bought the game because of you and omg the story is crazy in a cool way cuz I never play games like this
Kara Boga means God's Punishment in Polish. I dont have a clue if it was planned in any way or just a funny coincidence, but it fits perfectly with what he tells lol xD I think you should trust him with the truth, despite looking shady, he sounds like a paladin on a righteous quest with this name
by the way, not lathing long grips is not dumb, it makes perfect sense if you know how melee weapons work - it is not an ornamental design, grooves on a hilt of let's say sword or a mace give you more friction and place for your fingers to 'lock' it, especially with single handed weapons you want a firm grip to control it. with any long, two handed weapon from polearm family like a spear, halberd, warhammer, glaive, naginata or a horse chopper etc you often hold it firmly in one hand and loosely in second hand, you use second hand to direct thrust/blow in a more or less region and first hand to give motion of thrust or cleave and control area of attack with precision. textured grip would interfere with it. smooth handle makes perfect sense now, right @Drae ?
just wondering, for those who’ve played this game are the pointy end of the swords always looking like it’s been chipped off?? is it just how the game looks or it can be fixed ??
You should try to stage your ore. Melt the highest melting point one first, then put the next hottest one in and so on... bet you can keep quality up better.
Drae loves his sword jagged and by doing so its durability is extremely low xD If the game was a little bit more accurate I'd love to see NPC's comeback with a snaped blade
Ok can we get more 50 min episodes please
yes please
YES YES YES
Yea this one is pretty cool. Wasn’t sure about this blacksmith game at first but it seems like it’s pretty cool now with the wacky story it has.
Agreed man this is the best series he has rn
I told him this years ago he said they won’t be as popular
17:32 when making an alloy with a high melting point and a low melting point, melt the hot one first then try adding the low point one after
finally!!!
The in-game book melt the higher temp, cool it.. add second ore and heat to second ore melt point then increase to first ore's melting point
You should actually heat the ore that has 2 parts first, then add the 1. You don’t have to worry about burning because the quality resets once the ores are mixxed
Don't forget to add that the quench of that metal is going to need higher temps as well: the game goes with the higher ore than the lower.
Make sure to cool the bucket after melting the highest ore before putting the lower one in
4:45 "Why this episode is going so well"
*Reads the title* oh boy
50 minutes!! I'm so thrilled to kick back and watch you play this beautiful game.

For literally 7 minutes I was screaming at my phone - that's a short sword Drae not a dagger!!

Me at my laptop😅😅😅😅

Why did u put no spaces in-between the sentences?
They should add a guard you can go to so they can arrest the ones that threaten to harm you.
Fun tip for mining. You can exit the valley and reenter to have all the rocks respawn with new ore
This probably my favorite serious on youtube right now keep up the good work
Aiming your reticle down at the mold actuall makes pouring way easier, you basically can't miss.
I think the blade dynamics will help you understand cut and pierce rate

Watched this twice now. Keep an coming drae
The books are useful for tips such as melting different metals together it explains how to do it without burning ores
Rocks around this height like the purple at 2:12 you should be able to walk into them to see any obscured ore before you mine it. I think that height is the correct one but I could always be wrong.
If you get a one of the books from the library it actually tell you the best way to make alloy
50 minutes? Let's goo!!! 👍🏻
Loving the longer video's drae
Oh my gosh my OCD goes crazy when drae makes those maces with such small handles
Lol was waiting for you to hit this part of the story
