Its worth it if you have a plan before going there. We are blessed na boom ang oil and gas noong nagmigrate kami kaya nakakuha agad ng magandang work ang husband ko without doing extra schooling for qualification as an engineer. Our mindset talaga kung bakit nagmigrate sa canada is just to change our passport para mabilis magtravel kasi pag filipino marami kang di mapuntahan. Afterwards opportunity sa middle east came in. Ngayon after 4 yrs sa middle east. Malapit na kami magretiro sa pilipinas which is our plan talaga. Anyway we have our dual citizenship na..so if ever man magbago isip namin sa future ay pede kami bumalik sa canada anytime.

Pero still Pinas is still pinas..

20 years in Canada as immigrant and became naturalized Canadian was no regret for me. My dream paid off, got a job in my profession, sent my kid to college where she graduated and now a professional, my wife landed a good job, got a house and sold it after 7 years have a car. What else... now I am preparing for my retirement in 5 years from now. Where do I go from here. It’s God’s will for me whether I stay or go back home.
You young guys , prepare yourseves in coming here, physically and mentally. It is not all pasarap, life is also hard here. Prepare for an extreme cold winter. Prepare to be laid off once in a while. Take care of your debts. Pay your taxes. Enjoy the benefits of Canada, and most of all do what can you do in order to contribute in this country you will call home for many years. It will be blood, sweat and tears. But persevere in many situations. Joy and sadness will be your challenge. Go for your dream.
While I prepare for my homecoming.

Yes bro!

If u could migrate in canada u r one of the most Blessed person on earth....I LOVE CANADA ,MY HOME AND NATIVE LAND....

Hi John you have a very good information to our fellow kababayan about the life of an immigrant in Canada. We both have the same life experiences but in different country. Met my wife who is an immigrant in Winnepeg Canada but we both decided to settled down in San Diego, Ca because of the job opportunities and better climate. You are correct that leaving abroad is not easy but the rewards (salary, education, health) etc is much much better compare to the Philippines unless you are a multi millionaire. we were both retired now and receiving a very descent pension and health benefits for life. I am currently enjoying playing golf throughout the US and sometimes oversea. We sometimes visit the Philippines once a year but we both decided not to retire though we can leave there very comfortably with our monthly pension. Just stay focus with your job and look ahead and you will be better off than others

You came to Canada at the right age - young. It's the right age to start in a new country. The advantages of Canada despite the high taxes, is the universal health care, old age pension (not really that much CAD 2,000/mo at this time.) And if you have kids, there's the baby bonus, free public schooling and low tuition in community colleges.

  • @Whenthekidsaresleeping
    @Whenthekidsaresleeping 5 років тому +1

I just want to mention that kids here received monthly allowance from the government depending on your household income. And para sakin priceless talaga yung quality of life especially sa work. Managers do not expect you to work beyond your shift. Pag uwian na, uwian na talaga. Bihira pa ang traffic. Example for me, I work 7am to 3pm. Before 4pm nasa bahay ba ako which allows me to have more time for my family. You’ve already mentioned the Universal healthcare but I just want to reiterate how helpful that is. Imagine, manganak ka ng walang babayaran. Parking lang kailangan mo bayaran. 😀 That’s all. I love living in Canada. Yes, best decision ever.

Super accurate video! Same rin ang thoughts ko super worth it talaga sa Canada pero like what you said depende sa situation mo. I think at first it's a big adjustment pero once you realize nga yung mga benefits tsaka mo lang talaga marerelaize yung benefits. Katulad ng healthcare at first hindi mo siya masyado nappansin unless nagkasakit ka doon mo lang marerelaize na we are lucky to be in Canada :)

"Is it worth it" is subjective and should be taken on a case to case basis. Those who ask can best see it, experience it and live it for themselves to answer the question by themselves as well. I know it because i've been living in Toronto for the past 14 years. Subjective because there is no correct or wrong answer nor there is a straight answer as merits can be everything in between. To put this in perspective, i would tell you it is worth it with all my heart but it doesn't mean i'm happy. Yon lang masabi ko mga koya

The best benefit in Canada is the Universal health care and old age benefit. The disadvantage is the relatively high taxes. It is best to immigrate when you are younger and can take challenges and struggles.

2 weeks ago I was discouraged to continue the process when an agency told us that Canada Immigration is declining visas to aspiring international students who have more than 5 years of educational gap. Thank you for reminding me why I started in the first place. Kung sa akin, sa akin. I'll do my best and try my luck. Kung papasa, good and kung hindi, it's ok. At least I tried. I'm taking chances. Karla, Never go to canada. Good decision, God knows best for you. Canada is Not worth as a country. Hire and fire system. No job security. All you hear is BS. For people who doesn’t know or understand the system, you will hear it to be nice, in reality its not true. Yes you can buy house, cars and you will in debt. Let it not happen to you. Good luck on your decision and hope it helps you.

worth it ang canada kasi malaki siyang bansa like us, philippines will just fit in one state. kaya lang sobrang lamig. makakabili ka ng bahay, lupa, no traffic, free healthcare and education, no job discrimination. kaya lang malungkot.

It’s really true...if you are still young there’s a bright future in Canada...coming from a hot humid countries winter time is a problem...but overall there are a lot of good things here in Canada....a lot of jobs as long as you are not choosy...govt healthcare are provided, govt financial support to those under 18 is good as well as education...you have a peace of mind going out alone 24 hours without being rob and overall a peaceful society...almost all of us afraid to the police so you have to abide the peace and order and also traffic violations... if not it will cost a lot of money...pedestrians here are the priority you have to stop and give way...hard work, patience, perseverance and always pray for sure success in life is just around the corner!...

I left Vancouver in 1989. My thinking was the same. Four to six months of my earnings were going to taxes. So I moved to another country with low taxes and I haven’t looked back. Even RRSPs are taxed when seniors collect them upon retirement which I found to be ridiculous.
