Best part of the video is hearing that it won't be a trailer queen....awesome to hear them plan the scratches & wanting to put miles on it. Made me happy to hear.
Honestly how sick would this thing look with the single light HQ front. The front end chosen for this car overcomplicates the beautiful shape of the HQ coupe.
they need to do something about the black grill but at the end the guy said theyre gonna paint it?! I thought the point of all that metal work was to polish it out if its aluminum and clear coat or chrome if its steel
beautiful car reminds me of the car chip foose built years ago called "THE RITTLLER" a lot of custom metal work went into it as well unless you have done and type of work like this you will never truly appreciate what your looking at
smashing performance guys I take my hat off to all of you:-) I've been fabbing customs all my life and never seen a quee that rad!!! :-) :-) :-) fuck yeh
Trouble is with custom dashes and trims is if it's not on par to similar materials that were used in that era or later regarding impact of human body parts in an accident u won't get the thing registered according to Australian design rules and no engineer in his right mind would pass it cause if someone gets hurt guess who they go looking for him or her I know I've asked a couple about such things had a mate that was doin a really nice full custom metal dash in a hq and he didn't know about ADR codes on the plate no hope of registration till a softer dash goes in or he pads it somehow moral of the story if u want trick bits in your registered vehicle talk to your engineer that will b signing it off first and ya better get yourself a real good one
How much for that badass car? So long as it is under 180,000 total im good. Was thinking of building this car or just going ahead and getting a new Acura NSX.
Love everything about the car except that front nose I don't think you can go past the original single light HQ front it just looks tough. That front looks a little to much like a Camaro front
I think they should have gone with a custom interior - at least with the dash and steering wheel/column. That interior just doesn't match the badassery that is the rest of the car. They could have done a mold for the dash and gauge area assembly and then fabricated it out of steel, then line certain portions of it with a soft material, either leather or some kind of rubber/nylon or some such. I think the interior of the "Inferno" was done this way and it looks great.
Kel Vaughan get what you mean, just a bit too big and featureless? A couple of well styled vents for brake cooling and a recessed front number plate would be just fine.
Rick Rabies guess that's why we call it custom, get to have it any way you like it. Good thing really as would be a boring world if we all drove the same.
Awesome project but should have used classic GTS Monaro interior as a base instead of the VY Commodore IMO. Either way, curious to see how it all turns out. May I suggest to not paint the body work and clear coat it instead just like Nelson Racing's 'Maximus' Charger (google it).
There's a replica a9x over America way that has full custom trim...the way the interior sit now sort of takes away from the high quality of workmanship on the outside. ..kinda has a dodge front. .how many man hours so far?
Obviously they're going to fix it up, but it's a good dash to start off with. I cannot for the life of me remember what car it was, but it was a custom 66 Impala-type looking car, real long and low, it had a VZ interior that had been completely redone and it looked mint as hell. Just wait and see man.
Fuel cap position is a mistake! Looks good but you have to lean over nicely painted car with belt buckles, buttons and spilling petie is going to be a bitch.
The classic rule of "Measure three times , cut once" in this case more like sketch three times make once ! Should have kept at least the professionally designed pretty Monaro lights and grille, instead they put in a monged looking US muscle car wannabe front end ... overall the car looks dodgy and "the car was rusty" is not a good enough reason for this monstrosity ... horrible! Respect to the panel guys !
haha..wonder how much this build costs?!?!?!. Great looking though. Unless the guy wipes his ass with 100`s the car will probably only ever get around on a trailer
4:14 Finally... a custom car builder smart enough to include a spare tire in the design. These guys have skills.
Best part of the video is hearing that it won't be a trailer queen....awesome to hear them plan the scratches & wanting to put miles on it. Made me happy to hear.
i hear this is getting interior complete atm .. would love to see a update on here please guys
I’m in love with this car the men who built it are more than talented above and beyond amazing work it’s a piece of art
This car is so sweet. You guys are killing it over there!!!
Look forward to seeing it finished. I like the idea of modern interior.
What a nice bunch of Aussies. Great build!
It's so good to hear that it will be driven and used like it was meant to 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻awesome work
Looks bloody awesome!
The car is super clean . love thr wide body makes it alot diff and clean. Cheers guys . love the car
The ultimate show of craftsmanship is showing your work in the nude with no paint or bondo hiding the welds and seams. Almost a shame to paint it!
DAYM!! guys this cars looking amazing keep up the awesome work and look forward to seeing a finish up build at the end.
I don't know what year this video was released but I really want to see the end results .... is there a link or is it still in progress?
Honestly how sick would this thing look with the single light HQ front. The front end chosen for this car overcomplicates the beautiful shape of the HQ coupe.
Wow I love my Holdens but this Monaro is off it’s chains I love it it’s perfect in every way to me
Can't wait to see this awesome car finished so so good
These guys are visionaries!
Love it. Incredible work guys.
Can't wait to see it finished in raw state including interior. The front looks alot like a Chevelle. I wonder what colour it will be???
Awesome skills guys. Thats is some beautiful work.
All that custom work outside, just to use the interior from the more modern Monaro. Shame. Desrves a custom blend of the two Monaros inside.
Totally agree with ya mate. seems to be a cop out after all that custom metal work
For shore I Hope they change that front.
I dont think so, its nice to use more modern interior on a older car more comfortable! no rattles and squeaks and noises.
Gerald5000 they said they are going to customise it they are just using it as a platform for a custom interior
they need to do something about the black grill but at the end the guy said theyre gonna paint it?! I thought the point of all that metal work was to polish it out if its aluminum and clear coat or chrome if its steel
Hi guys car looks absolutely amazing looking at the low profile of this beast are you able to turn properly?
When are you puting up a more updated video?
beautiful car reminds me of the car chip foose built years ago called "THE RITTLLER" a lot of custom metal work went into it as well unless you have done and type of work like this you will never truly appreciate what your looking at
Very awesome custom Monaro. :)
work of art!! awesome work guys
Looks awesome, keep up the great work
Thats our Car !
I don't like the front much but maybe it's not Finished!? Otherwise it looks awesome, amazing work!
stunning car, wonder what it looks like now ~!
Is this car finished if so where can I view it
smashing performance guys I take my hat off to all of you:-) I've been fabbing customs all my life and never seen a quee that rad!!! :-) :-) :-) fuck yeh
Car looks amazing but really need a custom dash and centre console and maybe some coulsons
Trouble is with custom dashes and trims is if it's not on par to similar materials that were used in that era or later regarding impact of human body parts in an accident u won't get the thing registered according to Australian design rules and no engineer in his right mind would pass it cause if someone gets hurt guess who they go looking for him or her I know I've asked a couple about such things
had a mate that was doin a really nice full custom metal dash in a hq and he didn't know about ADR codes on the plate no hope of registration till a softer dash goes in or he pads it somehow moral of the story if u want trick bits in your registered vehicle talk to your engineer that will b signing it off first and ya better get yourself a real good one
Take it to SEMA this year if you can!
The Little Red Brick or to that US Show where that XBOSS Falcon debuted at the yanks will be blown away
what a killer build,
Awesome ride.
Why no shout out to Jamie @ kustom garage (who made the quarters)??
Stole the challenger front
A) They were sub-contracted to make the quarters, and B) we did a whole separate video on those guys
Very Amaziiiing 😍
How much for that badass car? So long as it is under 180,000 total im good. Was thinking of building this car or just going ahead and getting a new Acura NSX.
liking it so far
Love to see the finished car!?
Awesome project. still a long way to go for panel alignment and the front looks about as bad as it could have been.
Cara muito show
Vocês estão de parabéns! !!!!
Astounding
Bought my HQ in Woy Woy. Kick'n myself for selling now. This thing makes me want to cry
Love everything about the car except that front nose I don't think you can go past the original single light HQ front it just looks tough. That front looks a little to much like a Camaro front
Just awesome, glad I’m not paying the bills.
i have zero interest in mainstream cars like holden and fords, but great work guys. top fab work and build ideas.
david husband HQ Monaro is mainstream? Bwahaha! You're one of "those" people I see.
Amazing craftsmanship, but a shame the owner wanted a late model Challenger look up front WTF?
Martin McMartin it's all about the customer. it's annoying sometimes the weird shit they want on their cars
Had the same thought. And those tail lights??
Thats 10/10!
.. looks very nice except for that front piece
Kel Vaughan get what you mean, just a bit too big and featureless? A couple of well styled vents for brake cooling and a recessed front number plate would be just fine.
Andrew Wilson yep I think you're right, I can't wait for it to be finished
I like the featurelessness. I like it alot
Rick Rabies guess that's why we call it custom, get to have it any way you like it. Good thing really as would be a boring world if we all drove the same.
Kel Vaughan yea the need to do the whole grill and eyes smh its throwing off the whole cars look
Love it except for the front, dos'nt look like a HQ.
More please!!!
front looks like a centura other then that looks cool
para bens lindo trabalho
Awesome project but should have used classic GTS Monaro interior as a base instead of the VY Commodore IMO.

very classy
I would like to see the front wheels turned lock to lock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what's up with the the double chin.?
such a nice build but that front bumper.... WTF?
looks fat!!! The interior will turn out nice. nice custom panel work cant see any welds or bog. hq has the hardest body lines ;)
This is the badest car Iv seen in a while.. Nice work
Fucking awesome
Nice ! Nice!! Car
Should have stretched and modified the nose cone design. ..
1st. sharp as a tack
LOL good user name
my pants are tight!!
spends 100k+ on body work than puts $100 scrap yard boomadore dash and wheel in this joker is off hes head
Obviously they're going to fix it up, but it's a good dash to start off with. Just wait and see man.
The front does not look good at all..
I've always loved the HQ grille. i was disappointed that it wasn't a variation of that
Fuel cap position is a mistake! Looks good but you have to lean over nicely painted car with belt buckles, buttons and spilling petie is going to be a bitch.
but it looks way better there
35 people who have seen this are ford owners
Excellent job guys, but it's an old American technique and art which they have been using for many years.
fugly lights
Agree
epic work...only thing i dont like is interior, original would have been 100000000x times better
EITHER KEEP IT TO BUDGET OR LET 'ER RIP !
Well Done Beautiful...
The classic rule of "Measure three times , cut once" in this case more like sketch three times make once ! Should have kept at least the professionally designed pretty Monaro lights and grille, instead they put in a monged looking US muscle car wannabe front end ... overall the car looks dodgy and "the car was rusty" is not a good enough reason for this monstrosity ... horrible! Brazil 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Eu faço melhor aqui em Curitiba Pr.
Fantastic talent and skills involved to do something like this but I personally don't like it and can't see the point to it.
I would've just cleared it and kept steel. No paint
Not much change from a millions bucks i reckon
Vauxhall viva front grill looks horrible!
haha..wonder how much this build costs?!?!?!. Great looking though. Unless the guy wipes his ass with 100`s the car will probably only ever get around on a trailer
Datsun a series twin cam conversion
Interior ruins it for sure
shassy....
Love the look of the car but that interior is shit and the dash
Keep it old school looking
Nice work front end looks shit
I'm sorry, heaps of hard work but the look, you have a Munro,I don't like it at all.
I don't like it mate as I said heaps of great work but I don't like it, at all.
Sorry
I'm a mechanic mate and can really appreciate the work involved, but it looks fucked. Good luck with it but and happy caining
I think once painted it'll look pretty poo
Yuk.
Make it look even lower, Chop the top more.
Dude some people .... There are a lot of ugly Car's , this is not one of them .....
Sorry i can appreciate the work gone into it but the whole build is pretty damn ugly..
