- Protestors in France have continued for a ninth consecutive day with demonstrators opposing the government’s decision to lift the retirement age.
President Emmanuel Macron pushed the pension reform through parliament last week, raising the country's retirement age from 62 to 64.
Thousands of people have marched in Paris as shops, banks and businesses were boarded up early in the morning and vans of police stationed along the streets.

How is raising the retirement age "Tyranny"??? Theoretically you can retire as young as you want, its just that the government (ie. other working people) isn't going to pay you to do it. The level of narcissism found in the western world is astounding.

Macron's last speech (yesterday) was that the voice of the people/streets does not overcome the voice of those supposedly elected by the very same people! Guy is able to state such non-sense while knowing that his government has decided to use an exceptional legislation process (for the 11th time in 3 years) which basically bypasses the Parliament so the law can be enforced without any vote. The réform is 64 if you worked a full 42/43 years non stop (not being ill for long, unemployed,maternity, not having long student time ect..) So how is this supposed to be fair and work?
