My mom is a killing field survivor she lived & worked in the camp for 5 years under the Khmer Rouge regime. She survived when viet con enter Cambodia and she escaped thru the jungle into Thailand. She suffered from ptsd. I would do anything to take the pain away she endures.

I have been to this site. The tree shown at the beginning is not the tree that withstood the most horror. Farther on, as you walk along the raised plank walkways around what is actually a rather small place, you come to a tree, massive, hundreds of yrs old, a tree upon which 1000's of skulls were crushed as their bodies were slung thru the air, especially kids, a tree around which people's arms were stretched and tied so their ribcages could be smashed with clubs, a tree from whom people were suspended, their arms behind their backs and who died screaming as their arms were ripped from their sockets and their lungs collapsed. At the base of this gigantic tree further inside the killing field, people were sledged with shovels and their blood and brains fell onto the ground. Around this tree, and in so many other places in this genocide park, poking out from the ground, you can see as yet uncollected evidence of the horrors: teeth, bits of cloth from shirts, kids' shoes, bits of smashed bone from broken bodies. Here stands this tree. In my experience, trees are harbingers of life. If a tree has any conscience, this tree weeps for the death its life has been forced to bear. I think this, of all trees, yearns for birds in its branches and laughing children scrambling from a tire swing. This tree knows enough misery. When I was there, I saw the bits of bone and shoe and shirt poking out from the earth. And when I came to the killing tree at the back, there was a young man sitting on the walkway. I don't know who he was or where he was from, but he was just sitting on the walkway collecting the grief of human horror into himself and weeping inconsolably. I dont think he even felt my hand on his shoulder for that brief moment; he was feeling all the heartbreak. And the tree, I felt, in its massiveness, did what trees always do. It shaded us from the sun and seemed sad and resigned to witness our lament at our idiot human folly.

Pol Pot was cast in the same mould as Hitler, Stalin and Mae Zedong. They had crazy narcissistic ideals of creating a super race with their own people in their own country. Their twisted ideals were radically out of touch with the rest of mankind. They murdered countless millions of their own people in the quest for the impossible dream. They were total psychopaths of the worst kind.

@@attilamert6973 Speculating on motives is a tough business. But I will posit this. We tend to describe the outcome of what is simple contempt, envy, and jealously as heinous, grotesque atrocities because we don't fully accept the inherent evil in such sins. For example, the difference between the jealousy of a lover and the kind which drove Pol(itical) Pot(ential) to employ genocide is the same. The difference in outcome is a difference in degree only. It is only a difference in the degree to which it is indulged, funded, and carried out to scale. The nature or substance of the evil is of the same kind.
The danger is to allow the horror of what happened in Cambodia in particular to be described in anomalous terms. Men like Hitler or Pot weren't just crazy. Before anything else they were contemptuous, jealous, envious and ambitious in a pedestrian sense. Cain killed Abel for the same reason.
James 14but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
      Thus is progressivism.

I have been to the beautiful country of Cambodia several times and have visited Choeung Ek where thousands of men, women and children were murdered and "S21 Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide" where the most indescribable atrocities were carried out. It leaves one feeling numb and confused as to how anyone in their right mind could prosecute such terrible crimes predominately because of the irrational paranoia of Pol Pots regime. Whilst visiting S21 I met and spoke to a survivor Bou Meng, he was one of only a few who escaped death by having a skill, drawing which the Khmer Rouge made use of. His drawings of Pol Pot were so good, most people think they are photos, in fact the most famous pictures of Pot are not photos, they are drawings by Bou Meng. All of Bou Mengs family, wife and children were murdered by the Khmer Rouge.

Many of the people that ended up in the killing fields had come from Toul Sleng, a school in Phnom Penh that was used for torturing people.
Pol Pot was an individual who was unable to control his own people. Some areas were worse than others. I lived and worked in Cambodia from 1996 to 2017. I married a Cambodian lady who had been through Pol Pot, forced to marry and left with 2 children. I was able to help raise her son and daughter who are now lovely adults with their own kids.

@Google User There is no such thing as "pure communism" because humans are involved. Thousands were murdered in Cambodia for no other reason than wearing spectacles or having false teeth. Towards the end the snake was eating its own tail. Its interesting that following any successful revolution the pioneers, usually students and intellectuals were the first against the wall. Be careful what you wish for.

One time their time was up and two Khmer Rouge soldiers to come with them and my grandma knew that they’re going to get executed but lucky for them the two Khmer Rouge soldiers were called in on duty and this happens two times, which is why my dad, grandma and my other two auntie were lucky that day. After that my family came to the United States as refugees in the American military plane to Long Beach Cali and things didn’t ended as a good way because other gangs were picking on them and other Khmer people as well. A couple years later my dad joined a gang and things just gotten worst during the 90’s because that was during his teenage years and he had to do lots of bad activities with his boys. He then met my mom who is also one of the killing fields survivor, they had me and my brother in 2003 and now my pops is in prison. I followed his footsteps and I ended up in juvenile prison 2 times which was in the 2 grade and 6th grade, I spent 2.5 years in Juvenile prison during the time when I was in 6th grade cuz I illegally shot someone who tried to shoot me first. I’m tryna change my way around right now and make better choices, I now lived in Lowell Massachusetts because me living in east side Long Beach would just get me into trouble none stop 🤦‍♂️

A revealing question .... Who supported Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge to the bitter end ?
    # First, it's China - Directing, encouraging and supporting them to wipe Cambodia clean of Cambodians, making it ready for Chinese advisors, soldiers, workers, and settlers to flood in and turn it into another XinJiang (a China's conquered province)
    # Next, USA - Supporting and using Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge (plus prodding Deng XiaoPing's China) to exact revenge on the Vietnamese who had dared to shoot down their B52s and kick the American new colonialists who were taking on the mantle of the French old colonialists, out of their country Vietnam
    # Then, Thailand, Singapore, .... - Lackeys following orders from the USA (and from China's in the case of Singapore)
    # Lastly, UK, Australia, .... - USA's vassals.

This begs a very glaring question . Why didn’t our news media talk about this hideous nightmare everyday back in the seventies. Why wasn’t politicians howling in anger as this horror was taking place? We have to ask ourselves as a society is this the same reason nothing was said as China carried out the most massive genocide in world history in the 1960’s? Perhaps a hindered million people murdered by Mao . And what of Walter Winchel . and the other media titans under the thumb of FDR in the 1930’s during the Stalinist /communists purges in which 30 million Russians, Kulaks and Ukranians where starved and butchered . Why has our , radios, televisions, newspapers etc always been silent as these communist regimes murder countless millions of innocent people. Even today as Christians are murdered in Africa nothing but silence. Everyday in the media we hear about the wicked racesist America, countless movies , articles speeches on and on. 750,000 white men died in the civil war to free the slaves and to rid the US of this vile system. This was over 150 years ago and it’s as if it’s still going on. Meanwhile up teen wars latter slavery and untold butchery have taken place under our noses in our neighboring countries and nary a word. It reeks of a globalist/communist agenda that actually supports these regimes ( FDR sent a General Stillwell to China during the Second World War to halt Chang Kai Shek from destroying Mao and his reds. This allowed both Russia and the US to build up and support Mao who would go on to murder untold millions of his own people) and desires to cause division among Americans by continually playing up, racial , economic and gender grievances . The horrible things that these poor innocent people had to endure is incomprehensible and to think those monsters even drowned out their pitiful screams. We better look alive powerful politicians in the US and Europe still hold to these same exact NWO tenants. And you can count on them using these same brutal tactics on anyone as they implement their agenda.

Mom lost her dad and brother. Her three other sisters survived. They weren't murdered just died of famine where they were forced to farm. They all live in America now.
My dad on the other hand said he saw a john wayne cowboy movie and saw him eat a whole chicken which is unheard of in Cambodia. After he saw that, he wanted to live the American dream and got out before it all started. The rest of his family didn't want to leave and his dad, mom, 2 other brothers, and 2 sisters weren't so lucky.
Fast forward a couple years my dad is actually living the American dream wearing hippie clothes, playing music in a band, going to college and eating a lot of chicken. He did not forget about his family though and tried to get in contact with them (not sure how he did it). After many failed attempts he just assumed they were all dead.
Oh did I also forget he got married to an American? Well apparently they tried sending letters back to him but she HID the letters from him for some reason and months go by without him knowing about it. One day he checks the mail and finds a letter from Cambodia saying they are all still alive (except for the dad) and gets so upset that they end up divorcing. He then drops everything in his life and did everything he could to get them in America. Now all of them are all living the American dream and eating whole chickens :)"
