Politicians are constantly making changes. That's how they make money and reputation, favouring a donor or industry, and also keeping themselves relevant making constant laws and amendments, so it seems like value for money, and actually necessary, to keep them and other senior politicians around.
I like how women would go 50/50 on a girl's trip with a girlfriend that makes significantly more than her, and she will still see the girl as this amazing friend, but when a guy she is dating suggests 50/50 on a trip, he's some sort of monster.

Honestly, I kind of have to agree with her. I've seen some people say 'I'm not transphobic because I don't have an irrational fear of trans people'. Let's step away for a moment from the stupid idea that words always keep the original meaning of the Latin / Greek root word - that's not how language works, and words literally change meaning. 'transphobic', as it is used, means hating or just disrespecting trans people. If you say 'I refuse to sleep with you because you're trans,' you could make a strong argument that that's transphobic by that second part. However, what she needs to understand is, saying that is not likely to coerce somebody into sex (which is what wokies are trying to do when they say that; suddenly it's okay if it's in the name of trans people) and more likely to get people to accept transphobia.
Calling somethings opposition "phobic" does not make the original things values correct. Someone could say "Not wearing a swastika is Naziphobic." Does that make Nazism right? Of course not. So if someone believes that sleeping with trans people is wrong, if that makes them transphobic, then so be it.

The amount of control and suppression going on in this country really is scary. I live in Alberta which is one of the last bastions of sanity left in this country even though we're still barely hanging on too, but the horror stories coming from the rest of Canada are flooring me. I'm glad Canadians like you are speaking out, it really helps pull back the veil and prove to the rest of the world that we're really not okay over here despite the image and reputation we have on a worldly scale. For the Walmart woman. 20 years ago I could not live on my own unless I was living in a storage unit like the one guy and his woman. Not at what I was paid. Today after losing a good job, I still cannot.
I know my first job in 1986 paid $3.90 an hour, believe it or not that wasn't enough for rent, electricity, heating, water and insurance, forget a car payment lol ($400 piece of crap is all I had for a car) Money was worth a hell of a lot more but it was way harder to come by.
I worked for 45 years, 40 hours a week and now that I'm legally disabled and downright old, I still need to work just to get by. What I need to do is sneak out of the country and then sneak back into it as a dangerous, illegal alien. Then the government will throw money at my feet.
My ss. check isn't enough to end up anywhere but a government nursing home in 10 years. I moved to Thailand. Living a dream for less than half and getting treated better to boot. Think about it. Rent is $200/mo. and could be even cheaper if I needed. $1500/mo. is plenty. (Sold everything)
ALSO the “quality of life” of those two comparative jobs are probably not what she thinks they are. Doctors work crazy hours, take days, or weeks, of on-call hours at a time, and have to deal with really terrible things all the time. Baristas clock in, clock out, and go home. They probably still work hard while they’re there, but it’s apples and oranges.
If you ask a woman out on a date, you pay. I always brought enough to pay my own bill in case, but I also ordered water to drink and wouldn’t go to an expensive restaurant on a first date.

We made $2.25 an hr in the 70s. Every time the minimum wage goes up, Prices go up! We were no better off. We didn't buy 1k phones, no cable, many of us had well water, septic tanks. Wanting more ,you pay more.
When I enlisted in 1975, all you had to do was fog a mirror to get in. Several of the people I went to boot with were there in lieu of going to prison. The judge gave them a choice.

When I left school, I lived in a dormitory - had to go down one flight of stairs to use the toilet.. Used public transport. I see all the students around me live in single units with bathroom and kitchenette. All drive brand new cars. I find it difficult to have pity on the youngsters of today.

The problem with making higher education free is that there needs to be some form of selection process since the State has limited resources and the economy will become saturated with specialized workers. Free education only works if the economy can actually employ people.

Ive worked at Walmart. Ive worked every position in the store at 2 separate locations. It is EXTREMELY easy working there. That girl talking about she works her butt off? Yeah right. Ive worked construction, pipe fitting, welder helper, in the oil field. 12-14 hr days is the norm. Ive often worked 18 hr days and up to 21 days straight. You know speaking of jobs, I'm a professional driver. I do over the road work, temperature control units so I haul a lot of food, medicine and stuff like it. If anybody wants to talk about an industry that's completely screwed, it's the industry that I work in. People constantly degrade drivers telling us that sitting behind a steering wheel while driving hundreds of miles a day is light work. Driving is the easiest part but the extra stuff that we do is what makes the job difficult. First off, it takes a lot of skill to handle 70 ft, 80,000 lb vehicles while individuals around you in 4,000 lb metal death traps constantly try to kill themselves, next the government with the over regulations that they have no idea the impact of which they create, then you have the weeks from family, dispatch, working 24/7 and I can go on. To top of it all they hand out work visas to people from foreign countries like Somalia and Iran. They flood the entire trucking industry with these people by practically handing them a 200,000 dollar truck and who pay zero in taxes. These people who have zero English-speaking capabilities with very little training are then released on to the motoring public. The reason they're doing so is to drive down rates and save their billion dollar corporation buddies money in the form of shipping cost. These drivers will literally work for peanuts which drastically affects the industry as a whole. Not only financially, but it also affects us in the eyes of the public. These drivers get into accidents but because they don't understand road signs which end up killing people; yet they never get held responsible. They get a slap on the wrist and deported back to wherever the hell they came from. This makes truck drivers look extremely bad because there are people out there killing other people but nobody is being held responsible, its just another truck driver doing it. This isn't trying to be discriminatory against these people but I'm tired of getting a bad rep. If you've ever been to a truck stop you'll hear them talk and none of them speak English plus they just throw their trash anywhere they want. According to the law, in order to lawfully obtain a CDL license, you're supposed to be able to read and speak English. As of last year, census truck drivers have the most dangerous job in the United States, however, most of us only average 50 to 70,000 a year. If we want to talk about equality and equal pay, I think that the 1% that moves 100% of America deserves better pay than what they have been receiving. It sucks because the foreigners will not shut down so we American drivers have no chance to start any kind of strike in order to amend the pay discrimination or the laws that they have put into place that screw us over. The foreigner simply will not shut down. They have such an overwhelming number in the industry now that the government has essentially done what they have sought to do which is destroy the industry by flooding it with cheap foreign labor. The same thing that they are trying to push at the southern borders.

Imagine some random woman running up to a Marine and saying that being a mother is the hardest job ever and being in the Army/Navy/Chairforce/Space Force can't compare to the suffering a mother has to go through. The point the girl was making is simple. 20 years ago or even 30 years ago you could support a family of 4 with just 40k a year. Now jump to present day and rent increases have outpaced inflation, healthcare costs have outpaced inflation while providing less coverage, so we now have an issue of Inflation coupled with stagnant wages and the general ambivalence of the population. Now I'm not saying that we need to increase the minimum wage or anything like that. Doing that only causes inflation to get worse. But you shouldn't have to work 2 different jobs and run some side hustle to make a living. This whole issue has given rise to OnlyFans and all sorts of idiots trying to become famous online to try and make money. So to say it is just the new generation being lazy, is idiotic. There is a problem and it needs to be addressed soon. Otherwise there wont be a recovery.

I worked full time at a convenience store on graveyard and full time school, while living in a dump of a travel trailer with no ac in Houston. I got my first job as a service tech in training at $5 an hour. I worked over 20 years in the HVAC trade as a service tech and averaged about 55 hours a week. So I feel like I am more than qualified to speak about today's youth being lazy. When did it become expected to start at the top? I work graveyard now. I get paid 6 figures, have excellent benefits and was working constantly during the lockdowns. I don't have all of this because of white privilege, I have it because I have the experience and proven history of results. So she needs to buckle down a little, maybe get a room mate, maybe trim expenses, maybe do a little budgeting. ITs all part of being an adult and that's the part us old people are complaining about. I think Candace Owens said it best, "Life is hard, wear a helmet".
I'm currently doing that. I run my own business as a General Contractor, drive Uber at Night, and have an entire Full Course Load at ASU Online for a Computer Science degree that Uber is paying for. I'm only doing the degree because I have a VERY good in for Tech Jobs considering one of my older very close friends is VERY high up with Accenture. I'll stay the Face of my business and do Customer relations...but that's a part time thing. I'll work full time at a higher paying Tech Job and just manage my business. It makes sense to do if you have an actual reason...and honestly, it's kinda fun talking shit about Woke and DEI to the University every time it pops up while making Uber pay out 20k a semester for me.

Went to a modern art gallery with my kids. They were so bored and it was going to turn into a bad and expensive day out. So I came up with a game called “Is it art or is it crap” which kept us all amused and saved the day’s outing. Conclusion: two thirds was crap, and it makes it more bearable to endure by being able to say so out loud.

Doesn't help that when you're buying a house you're competing with people/companies who want to rent it out and people who don't actually want to live in the home year round, thus enabling people to sell the house at an even higher price. In 1955 people usually lived with family until they married and moved into a house they lived in until death who lived with their kids until they got married. That's putting aside the way houses are now considered a single family home for almost double the square footage it used to be considered vs then. The entire way of living has changed, not just the dollar amount.

When I graduated high school in 1984, most graduates moved into a 3-4 bedroom rental house with one per room and shared rent and utilities. They did this so they could afford to move out of their parent's house. Most college graduates did the same thing, for the same reasons. You know speaking of jobs, I'm a professional driver. I do over the road work, temperature control units so I haul a lot of food, medicine and stuff like it. If anybody wants to talk about an industry that's completely screwed, it's the industry that I work in. People constantly degrade drivers telling us that sitting behind a steering wheel while driving hundreds of miles a day is light work. Driving is the easiest part but the extra stuff that we do is what makes the job difficult. First off, it takes a lot of skill to handle 70 ft, 80,000 lb vehicles while individuals around you in 4,000 lb metal death traps constantly try to kill themselves, next the government with the over regulations that they have no idea the impact of which they create, then you have the weeks from family, dispatch, working 24/7 and I can go on. To top of it all they hand out work visas to people from foreign countries like Somalia and Iran. They flood the entire trucking industry with these people by practically handing them a 200,000 dollar truck and who pay zero in taxes. These people who have zero English-speaking capabilities with very little training are then released on to the motoring public. The reason they're doing so is to drive down rates and save their billion dollar corporation buddies money in the form of shipping cost. These drivers will literally work for peanuts which drastically affects the industry as a whole. Not only financially, but it also affects us in the eyes of the public. These drivers get into accidents but because they don't understand road signs which end up killing people; yet they never get held responsible. They get a slap on the wrist and deported back to wherever the hell they came from. This makes truck drivers look extremely bad because there are people out there killing other people but nobody is being held responsible, its just another truck driver doing it. This isn't trying to be discriminatory against these people but I'm tired of getting a bad rep. If you've ever been to a truck stop you'll hear them talk and none of them speak English plus they just throw their trash anywhere they want. According to the law, in order to lawfully obtain a CDL license, you're supposed to be able to read and speak English. As of last year, census truck drivers have the most dangerous job in the United States, however, most of us only average 50 to 70,000 a year. If we want to talk about equality and equal pay, I think that the 1% that moves 100% of America deserves better pay than what they have been receiving. It sucks because the foreigners will not shut down so we American drivers have no chance to start any kind of strike in order to amend the pay discrimination or the laws that they have put into place that screw us over. The foreigner simply will not shut down. They have such an overwhelming number in the industry now that the government has essentially done what they have sought to do which is destroy the industry by flooding it with cheap foreign labor. The same thing that they are trying to push at the southern borders.

The point the girl was making is simple. 20 years ago or even 30 years ago you could support a family of 4 with just 40k a year. Now jump to present day and rent increases have outpaced inflation, healthcare costs have outpaced inflation while providing less coverage, so we now have an issue of Inflation coupled with stagnant wages and the general ambivalence of the population. Now I'm not saying that we need to increase the minimum wage or anything like that. Doing that only causes inflation to get worse. But you shouldn't have to work 2 different jobs and run some side hustle to make a living. This whole issue has given rise to OnlyFans and all sorts of idiots trying to become famous online to try and make money.
So to say it is just the new generation being lazy, is idiotic. There is a problem and it needs to be addressed soon. Otherwise there wont be a recovery.

I worked full time at a convenience store on graveyard and full time school, while living in a dump of a travel trailer with no ac in Houston. I got my first job as a service tech in training at $5 an hour. I worked over 20 years in the HVAC trade as a service tech and averaged about 55 hours a week. So I feel like I am more than qualified to speak about today's youth being lazy. When did it become expected to start at the top? I work graveyard now. I get paid 6 figures, have excellent benefits and was working constantly during the lockdowns. I don't have all of this because of white privilege, I have it because I have the experience and proven history of results. So she needs to buckle down a little, maybe get a room mate, maybe trim expenses, maybe do a little budgeting. ITs all part of being an adult and that's the part us old people are complaining about. I'm currently doing that. I run my own business as a General Contractor, drive Uber at Night, and have an entire Full Course Load at ASU Online for a Computer Science degree that Uber is paying for.
I'm only doing the degree because I have a VERY good in for Tech Jobs considering one of my older very close friends is VERY high up with Accenture. I'll stay the Face of my business and do Customer relations...but that's a part time thing. I'll work full time at a higher paying Tech Job and just manage my business.

So I came up with a game called “Is it art or is it crap” which kept us all amused and saved the day’s outing. That's putting aside the way houses are now considered a single family home for almost double the square footage it used to be considered vs then. When I graduated high school in 1984, most graduates moved into a 3-4 bedroom rental house with one per room and shared rent and utilities.
They did this so they could afford to move out of their parent's house.
