When I was a kid a guy a few houses down apparently did typewriter repairs at home. One day he put his trash out full of all kinds of strange and exotic mechanical parts. As a kid I dug trash at the curb if something was visible. Got some neat stuff but no clue about any of it except the rollers.
I restore old radios as a hobby. They have their share of some mechanical bits, but stuff like typewriters is pretty exotic to me. I would think that you would need alot of experience and mechanical aptitude. IN old radios and stereos, just the record changers can flummox me.
Hi Tom, restoring old radios sounds like a cool and rewarding hobby, I have a few 1930s table top radios that need repairs but small electrical components are not my thing so I’ll take them to a local shop that works on them. Like you I had a guy in the neighborhood that worked on small engines and one that did TVs and VCRs so the pickings were good as a kid on garage day. We had a lot of cool decorations on the walls of our fort even if we didn’t know what half of it was.
Great detailed instructional video! Greatly appreciate it!
