    G'day from Australia, I stumbled upon your video. I keep a worm farm, some years ago it was invaded by black soldier fly. I had to get rid of them because they out ate the worms. The worm farm at that time was mostly kitchen scraps & newspaper and the black soldier flies loved it. Recently I have been adding coffee husks to my worm farm together with horse manure and seaweed. The worms seem to enjoy this mix. I realise you breed black soldier flies to convert waste to protein for feed. I'm wondering though, is the black soldier fly frass good garden fertiliser? Thank you

    Thank you very much for your videos, in Colombia we have a lot of coffee waste and this technology can help farmers to convert their waste into value-added products.

    Hi there, appreciate this trial. We are producing BSF here in Uganda for our fish farm and we want to add coffee husks for the caffeine. Caffeine encourages BSF metabolism, so hoping that coffee husks have enough caffeine to boost growth rates. Maybe a trial with kitchen waste vs kitchen waste and coffee husks ?!

    Interesting results! My experience with coffee grounds is not good either. Interesting to note is that caffeine is a natural insecticide, so maybe it is unpalatable or even toxic to the young larvae.

      When you say coffee husk, do you mean coffee grounds from making the drink. Or is it a different part of the coffee plant / harvest process?

    • @ProteinMasterNairobi
      @ProteinMasterNairobi  3 роки тому +1

      The outer part of the coffee... Not the bean
