PoE media converter can not only convert optical signal to electrical signal, but also supply power to the PoE devices over a single Ethernet cable. This video introduces a PoE gigabit RJ45 to SFP converter (www.fs.com/c/m...) that is used for fiber-to-copper conversion during PoE connections. Recently i applied for bsnl FTTH (they provide only connection and we have to buy the router).As in amazon/market prices, the GPON/EPON ONT routers are too bit costly to purchase though they have less specs.
I still didn't buy the SYROTECH GPON ONT ROUTER
so, my queston is... can i connect the optic cable directly to the media converter and convert this optic signal to LAN RJ45.From that converted LAN cable, can we able to connect other routers like TPLINK which supports LAN RJ 45.

The media converter can connect two dissimilar media types such as twisted pair with fiber optic cables, which can realize the conversion between electrical and optical ports. Normally, there is an SFP port on the media converter. You can insert an optical transceiver with corresponding patch cables. Some of the media converters have built-in modules that can be directly inserted with patch cables. All based on specific products and your needs.

You need ONT from your ISP provider most likely (it has to be approved and put in the system from them). Ask for it, they may be reluctant, but figure some convincing bullshit and they should give it to you.
@Rauw yea I was able to figure it out on bell aliant using the homehub 3000. A guy on kiji helped me with some router settings that made it work

Hi sir, thank you for asking and sorry for the delayed reply. Do you mean if you can use the SFP port as an uplink port on your PoE switch? In my experience, it would be okay. The Uplink Port is just a name to differentiate it from other working ports but in essence, they are both used to transfer data. As this article concludes, "actually no substantial differences exist". Uplink Port Vs. Dear, fiber media converter can connect two dissimilar media types such as twisted pair with fiber optic cabling to ensure the data transmission. It won’t generate any of the media. And it is not necessary if you mean to connect two copper cables with this converter.

Hi, Gokulakrishnan J. If you bought the cameras from FS, you can contact your account manager, whose contact info is in your FS account page. But, if you got the cameras from another vendor you might need to ask the provider for help.
