    Hello Chauvet DJ Rep. Thanks for the review. I just purchased a Chauvet Hurricane Haze 2D. I filled the tank with Black Label H20 Haze Fluid. I connected it and it has heated up (light turned from Red to Blue). I connected the remote. It spat a couple of haze bursts but, then stopped. Is the menu at the back supposed to be set a certain way?

    I love Chauvet more than ADJ when it comes to LIghts. But i ended up buying two ADJ Fog Fury Jets. I picked this feature cause it can go vertical, horizontal and upside down. I got it also because it has LED's and is DMX linkable. Only your 3 biggest Foggers here have DMX .

    I want to get a 1600 but I'm worried about the fluid consumption, if I turn down the output will I still have a reasonable amount of fog with low consumption?

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  7 років тому

      This is a tough one to answer. The answer is really, it depends on your application when you're looking for a "reasonable amount". For some people our tiniest of Fog machines are the perfect size for what they need and for others they need our 1800 Flex at full output. The 1600 still gives a good amount of output even when not at full blast. If you'd like a demo, please contact your local sales rep or dealer in your area.

    When ever I turn the output down on the Hurricane 1302 using the remote it makes a ticking sound but when I turn it up all the way it sounds normal. Is this supposed to happen?

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  5 років тому

      Yes, you are actually hearing the pump slowing down whereas at max output you would be hearing a much quicker "ticking" type of sound. Thanks for the question! If you have any concerns with your machines, please contact our customer service experts who can assist!

    When the FC-T Variable output is used. Does the fog output mimic a lower wattage/cfm fogger? ie. Will dialing down a 1200 (1,180W & 18k cfm) produce a similar output effect to a Chauvet 1000 (740W & 10k cfm) or Chauvet 901(670W & 4k cfm)? If so at what output dial settings?
    That would be based all things being equal as if the machines were in a controlled Chauvet test setting. Independent of what my use would be.
    Why I ask: I have a 901 for a small effect. I'm trying to decide between a 1000 or 1200 without actually having to buy both to compare. I do know how the 901 and refurbished 1200 output compare at normal operation full blast. I uploaded a comparison vid last year because the FC-T three dial didn't work on a refurbished unit. It would continuously output fog unless I unplugged the remote. (Someone said theirs did that too. I've watched two recent vids in which the variable output did work) My refurb 1200 did work with the FC-T two dial. I returned the 1200. Bottom line I couldn't compare the 901 to a 1200 with output dialed down.
    I have to assume a brand new 1200 with the FC-T three dial would allow variable output.
    The full blast 1200 was super cool but was too much fog too far too fast for my application is what I'm concerned about. But what should I expect if dialing down the output compared to the other foggers I mentioned?
    Thanx!
    P.S. There are no dealers in the area for a demo.

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  6 років тому

      If you take a 1200 and dial it down with the FC-T you will be able to mimic the output of a 901. But at what dial, we're not sure because we haven't tested for that information. If you have any additional questions on this feel free to contact our customer service department at chauvetcs@chauvetlighting.com or (954) 577-4455 option 4

    • @yardhaunt2000
      @yardhaunt2000 6 років тому

      Thank you very much!
      I would buy the 1200 then instead of the 1000 because it comes with the variable dial remote even though the 1000 can use one it comes with the FC-M manual and wireless FC-W.
      I have the 901 so could test it to see what 1200 FC-T setting would produce the same output.
      I recently saw the Froggy's Freezin' Fog vid "How can I make a homemade chiller? | Froggy's DIY" where they dialed down a 1600 with a small trash can fog chiller (just 8ft of duct and 16lbs ice which really should be 16ft and 20lbs or more to chill it longer to lay lower) and it worked because as most people find out you need a lower wattage slower fogger output to give the ice a chance to chill the fog (no more than 700W is what the Vortex Cold Fusion instructions say for approx 20-24lbs ice) or unless you pack a huge ice chest or trash can with 50 lbs of ice then you can use a 1000W fogger.
      It was hard to tell in Froggy's vid but it looked like the variable output dial was at about 6 or 7 fwiw
      And I can see how the 1600 sounded like it started then slowed down the output then repeated that so that was actually helpful to see. I hadn't caught that the other couple times I saw the vid last year.

    I have the chauvet 1300 fogger. Is this fog machine capable of running on 230 volts. on the back the fuse says 120 volts. but the manual say it can do both 120 and 230 volts. want to be sure before I do anything. any input would be great. thanks.

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  7 років тому +1

      No, you cannot use your 120V machine on 230V. The unit has a fixed power supply. The manual states you can use the machine on 120V or 230V depending on the specific model. Any additional questions about this, please contact our customer service department at chauvetcs@chauvetlighting.com or (954) 577-4455 option 4

    How long the machine normally last? 5 years? Can I use haze with the 1600?

    • @CHAUVETDJ
      @CHAUVETDJ  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for reaching out. This question is very dependent on how you use and maintain your fogger. Follow the user manual for the fogger that you own and it should last for years with proper maintenance. You can use any CHAUVET DJ atmospheric fluid in the Hurricane 1600, but please follow the user manual instructions after each use.

      I bought a Chauvet Hurricane 1300 and its been almost 10 years and its still running strong. I run distilled water and white vinegar from time to time to clean it out as well as opened the unit to clean up any waste fog to prevent premature rust. Nothing too necessary just my way of taking care of mechanical items. You take care of anything and it will last almost double the manufactured life. But I have always used HDF High Density Triple filtered Fluid in my fogger, nothing less.

      I've gotten away with using a competitors fog fluid in emergencies where I needed fluid to fulfill a gig and didn't have time to order one to ship to me (Mainly purchased 3rd party fluid from Guitar Center ONLY) and my Hurricane 1300 still works to this day after nearly 10 years no problems. My suggestion is go with Chauvet's fluid and ALWAYS pick their HDF Highest density or highest quality fluid that is TRIPLE FILTERED no matter what fluid you choose, don't go cheap on the fluid!!! Remember there is a piston pump in the machine, and just like fuel pumps in a car rely on the lubricity of the gas to lubricate the pump, the same goes for a fog machine. You want good quality fuel in your car and you want good quality fog fluid in your fog machine and NEVER EVER Run the pump dry, pumps can seize up or simply melt if they reach overheat and they wont work again. That pump is your main life of the machine and it going out is the main reason why foggers get trashed. You want good quality no residue leaving fog fluid.

    I think Chauvet needs to go to all removable plugs, more-so the 1301 and 1800 Flex. That leads me to a question though, why were those two designed with their plugs attached while the others were designed as removable?

    • @reissallan
      @reissallan 8 років тому +1

      Hi Steve, There are many reasons why we do what we do. The H1301 and H1800 are older models and back then we did use removable IECs for our fogger line. The newer models use fixed power cords because it saves everyone a little money and it's faster to produce on a production line. Hope this helps!
