Man it was hilarious, starting at 1:12 I was sitting in my room with my headphones on yelling come in at my door for thirty seconds ! That would be a good trick, every few reactions or so purposely put in a door knock, doorbell, car horn outside, Or glass breaking, phone ringing etc...

WTF .... Humour is subjective and I'm sure some people find this funny ... I have no idea why but they do I guess. On the plus side they can play so that's something..

Totally valid reaction. I love this track because it combines supreme musical skill with total goofiness. And then there is the layer of references within Zappa's work. The Zappa community immensely appreciates the in-jokes, nerdily dubbed "conceptual continuity".
Zappa has a bunch of stand-alone pieces that approximate a radio-compatible format, but they are rare. I would say Zappa is well worth a deep dive, but I am extremely biased.

@@TommiBrem - He kind of annoys me because he was a supremely talented Jazz Fusion guitarist with abilities well above normal but spent his career making a lot of novelty songs that someone without his talent could have done as well (I know it's not all novelty songs but it is a high percentage). To me it's a case of someone not making the most of his undoubted talent. I know his fans would disagree but I'm sure you can also probably understand what I mean. Someone like Weird Al Yankovic is a moderately talented musician and vocalist so he maximised his potential doing novelty songs where Zappa chose to make niche sort of self indulgent music and didn't write the great songs that I have no doubt he was capable of. I really do wonder if with a little more restraint he could have written the sort of timeless classics people like Dylan, McCartney, Barry Gibb and others wrote. Obviously he chose not to go that route but thats the big reason he frustrates me.

@@alphaomega7191 I would disagree with the "high percentage" of novelty songs in relation to his complete body of work, though. There are those who wish he had some more "straight" jazz/fusion, others wish he'd done more classical music, others.... In the end, he did whatever the hell he wanted to 😂

@@alphaomega7191 - Frank stated on many occasions that his music was a direct reflection of his personality. Most artists just make product and can't say that. Frank made the music he did and made the lyrics the way he did because that was his personality. He made music to please himself and if anybody else liked it that was a bonus. Zappa made a huge amount of instrumental music as well as orchestral music if you don't like the lyrics. BTW, the song lyrics are mostly based on real life events and things that happened to Frank or his band members.

@@Frunobulax74 Look I know he made music to please himself but to me that leant too far into self indulgence. I understand that some people enjoy it but to me it's just largely juvenile and given his talent level enormously disappointingly so.
