It's so weird that they clearly intended Jinxx to win at that stage but chose a lipsync song that suits Monet better.
Yeah, like. If you want the final lipsync to go to Jinx pick a different song. Do not literally pick a song with a Nicki Minaj verse, which everyone knows is one of Monets specialties.

I read somewhere that they were actually trying to make Monet win, which makes sense with that song choise, but Jinkx was such a fan favorite that they had to acknowledge she was the winner of the season.
@@ismabermudez that would be so weird if true... i would think Shea would have been who they wanted to win since Ru favors her so much, or even Trinity as she would have been a solo winner of AS4 if it weren't for possible backlash of another white queen taking the crown.
monet is fantastic, but she never gave me winner energy, she's pretty mid tier imo.

@@MsVitaD well remember when everyone said "Shangela would have won wrecking ball!" then she performed it in a bar and it was just a chaotic mess? not sure that the unedited Swish Swish would do that much more for Monet. The lip stick thing wasn't even a part of AS7, so it doesn't make much sense to pull one out. Why not just lip sync instead of the gimmicks?

@@alexbolt5 nah drag race would never sue, even if they could the publicity would be so detrimental for them. And at that point a cease and desist wouldn’t do a thing
@@jboww2121 I don’t think they cared for that. Its just that the reunion goes against the editing of the show which it alludes was very rigged. Drag race doesn’t care about the backlash but they cant have their own cast basically confirming the shady things behind the scenes either.
Monét so professional.. she continues to just uplift her part of the lip sync instead of acknowledging that they edited the lip sync in favor for jinkx to win 😂😂
i was definitely rooting for jinkx in as7 but that swish swish lipsync of monét was one of the best things i've ever seen monét do.

Ultimately I do love Jinxx and think based on how she did in the competition she is a worthy winner but they should not have used the words "Lip sync for the crown" or whatever. It was clear from the shady edit that Monet mollywhopped Jinxx and if it was a true lipsync for the win she should have won. I'm sure it is a production thing where for All Stars they are just trying to save some money and get it all shot and over and done with but they should change up the format to be more similar to season 14 where the girls lipsync alone to some music of their choice. In that context sure, I could maybe see Jinxx coming up with something that might beat Monet.
Honestly, it’s [rare] that a lip sync for the crown goes to the winner of that lip sync. 🤷🏽♀️

@@thatsseauxnish_ yeah I think Jinxx is a good lipsyncer but for this type of thing Monet is better. It is just sometimes really obvious with the editing when they are running a narrative and this was very much a case of that. But that is why I think All Stars should change the format of the lipsync for the win into something that each of the queens prepare before hand that suits their strengths rather than some random song.
This reminds me of how much I miss The X Change Rate. That was so fun.

i wouldve been happy with either jinkx or monet winning all stars 7 tbh. like, either way, i would have been fine lmao. we always return to that neverending conversation of monet winning the lipsync but jinkx winning the season, and its always a stalemate. at the end of the day, all the girls are doing well and are successful in their own personal careers and thats all that matters.

You're also making a lot of assumptions about me and what I think... you're implying for example that I discredited Monét's win on All Stars 4 when that isn't true. You're also saying I have a bias, but if anything, I'm biased toward Monét because she's one of my favourite queens, I was rooting for her on every season she's been on, and I'm a Sibling Rivalry patron.
All I'm saying was, I was fine with Jinkx or Monét winning. If you're upset about Monét not winning $200,000, I hope you're putting your money where your mouth is and supporting her career.

@R.j🥶 the lipsync before the top 2 lipsync is a very different situation than the finale, the winner is decided with that top 2. Also sasha did essentially equally as well in the competition as shea and deserved the ball over shea, she also did the most iconic lip sync in drag race history, there’s no edit that could save shea from that. At the end of the day Ru decides, and you can’t make that decision. There’s plenty of instances of give and take, not just this generalized implicit bias you’re speaking of (and insinuating that black queens end up with the short end of the stick). Sasha beat shea, but then yvie beat brooke who had a better track record, and jaida beat gigi, willow beat Camden. The semifinal lipsyncs determine the top 2, and the final lip sync doesn’t matter, but we all enjoy seeing it and it’s a nice way to close out a season even if it’s not what determines the winner, there’s no issue with that
Regardless, Ru did mention the final decision to be a culmination of that final lip sync and their performance all season long. Whether or not that stipulation was added in post, as it's been alleged, I think the fans largely agree with the outcome -- and their work overall should be a key factor. That said, the 'lip sync for the crown' label is almost certainly a bit played out. I think a change to the ending format wouldn't be a bad idea; keep the weekly lip syncs, but ditch it or beef it up for the finale.
I mean, had Monet won, there would have been a lot of fans stating that Jinkxs did better throughout the season. One way or another, there will always be unsatisfied fans and as every other reality show, its purpose is to entertain, not to be fair.

No she was pushed in both lip syncs. Monet should have won, period. You can say fair, deseved wahtever, at the end of the day they all deserve it, it's just frustrating to wathc a person doing literally a better job and being more prepared and being runned over just because the toxic fans of jinx want her to win.
on my channel i have both version of when Ru announces and on version she says based on the song, and on the other its based on the comps. i got one from WOW and other from a source. its a min long clip.

I love Monet and think she won that lipsync, but I hate when queens do things to sabotage the other queen. Putting her hand in Jinkx's face for "kiss the ring" seemed unsportsmanlike. It gave me Alaska licking Katya. It would really throw me off. She also said she threw her lipstick to her but we didn't see that.
The lip stick thing is disrespectful too. It's like just perform the song, why the need for gimmicks? Why try to throw the other person off and disrupt the performance? Everyone acts like the edit doesn't show Monet's performance so that it can be rigged for Jinkxx, but maybe it was to protect Monet? Maybe it came off bad on camera and they just decided not to show it.
@1bwash Not a bad theory, actually. It just seems a little too targeted and focused on the queen you're competing against. The route of "I need to make the other queen look as bad as possible" doesn't seem like a winning one. Just focus on yourself and give a stellar individual performance.

@Defsouul Pulling a lipstick with Jinkx's name, putting her hand in her face, and throwing the lipstick to her is trying to make her look bad in my opinion. If I was Jinkx, I would have been annoyed and thrown off and that's just not the kind of lip sync I enjoy watching. I still love Monet she is in my top 5 of all time, this just wasn't my favorite moment from her.

Meh glad their "kick back" got squashed. All this whining and complaining about how this was rigged, they didn't show that, blah blah is really sucking the magic out of the show. It used to be just fans on social media doing this, but now it's the queens themselves too. Makes it hard to enjoy things when the commentary is jadedness and bitterness.
