My grandpa a 1000r and the suspention was super stiff so he did some stuff to it and now its a beast and just goes through everything It can do 50 through 3 foot holes
Having owned a number of Porsche with DCT, if done right they are the most fun, incredible tranny made. Sounds great shifting. Can’t hear the downshifts which are usually perfectly timed and aggressive. Are they on the Talon? Excellent driving. Ty.
You need to drive a Yamaha YXZ with the manual transmission for comparisons sake. I've driven the Yamaha but not the talon. Everything you are saying sounds very similar to the Yamaha.
You are correct SuzukaBuleAP2. I have a driven both and own a talon. The stick shift YXZ is the closest thing to a rally car you can get in a sxs. I love my talon but if the YXZ had a low range I would have went with it. I would take the stick shift one over the paddle shift one. Don't care for paddle shifting, but that's just me.
@@greenrancher350 I am in the market for a 4 seater so I can enjoy it with my kids... How would you rate the 4 seater Talon vs the 4 seater Can Am? I know the talon is down on power but I really don't like the CVT... I've driven the Can Am but not the talon...
@@suzukablueap2283 Man I wish I could tell you but I know nothing about Can Am. I ride with a crazy guy sometimes that has a 20 talon 4 seater live valve and he likes it, but have never driven it. I live on the east coast so I bought the talon x, it has plenty of power for the woods. But if you ride desert or sand dunes I can see where you would want more.
@@suzukablueap2283 love my x4..been in big turbo cars and as I get older..just don't need all that. Had the x4 for 8 months and she impresses me ever time were and..ride red!
@@suzukablueap2283 I have the talon 1000x4 with the turbo kit. It all depends what you are planning to do with it. If you primarily ride in the dunes then take the can am, more power, much better suspension. If you just like the trails then take the talon. The talon definitely lacks in power but the turbo kit helped a lot. Going through the whoops on the talon will def eat you up. If I had to do it all over again I would probably buy the can am turbo RR. I have about 35k into my talon. For that money I would rather get a can am
Hay Honda fix your air filter location. It sucks. I just put100 miles on mine and the air filter looks like it has 10,000 miles on in. That is ridicules !!!
stgraves260.......The Air filter location is okay, it;s the area where the air enters the system that needs to be changed! If you want a better aid filtration system, go for the S & B "particle separator"!
My CVT has "INFINITE" speeds, and I have NEVER blown a belt on my machines, because I don't smash the go pedal from the getgo, and I warm up the belt before I really get on it! Of course I don;t ride in the Dunes either, just rail riding. CVT's do work, and they have done for years!
The 2022 still looks like a 10 year old design with 32's and horrible thumping engine sound. By the way, I'm a huge Honda fan, but on the SxS, I only like their DCT....did I mentioned about the horrible lawn-mower like engine sound? Come on Honda, we don't care for cute painted wheels!!!! We want a less toy-look but a more aggressive sporty looking off-road machine, with better designed suspension and put a darn real 4 cylinder turbo engine on it! Hire some foreign engineers if your team can't do it!

Do a uni pre filter under main filter on 3" inlet tube..works incredible
If you like the Talon....You need to drive the YXZ!!!
@Jace Bates27 better at what lol
The transmission has issues searching for gears. Especially in mud and sand.
Haven’t ran into that problem mines all stock , maybe you have taller tires ?
only trans issue I have heard of was when someone hits gas before transaxle is in low or has the cable out of adjustment.
Mine has no transmission problems owed it for a year now no issues at all runs very good!!
For this cases there are manual mode

Mine just imploded after 4300 miles on my can am :(
Sounds like you should let the machine do the shifting, Mr. Rev Limiter...

The 270 fired v-twin just hooks up so well. It is optimal for the purpose.
