DAND vs BHARAT PART 3.. So hanuman ji 's thirst can be quenched by love and hunger by devotion. Then Kaalnemi says there is only this much water in the pot, if you want more then go to the lake. Hanuman ji goes there and bathes and god's grace or kripa is received by him. Lord thinks that this devotee of mine has big thirst and he reached the one with small pot taking him as a saint, now i should shower my grace. As soon as hanuman ji enters the lake, a she-croodile catches his foot. Hanuman ji hits her- "Sar paithatkapi pad gaha makri tab akulaan Maari so dhari dibya tanu chali gagan chadhi jaan".. This has an indicative meaning. She asks hanuman ji," maharaj if someone holds your legs then should he be blessed or beaten?" Hanuman ji said,"people like you should be beaten only." She again said,"then such people reciting katha should also be hit", and she signals- "Muni na hoi yah nisichar ghora Manahu satya bachan kapi mora" She intents to say," like i caught your leg not out of respect,but to eat you,similarly he who is narrating ramkatha is also there to eat you!" Hanuman ji got such a Guru who by singing Lord's praises ,wants to keep him away from the Lord and such a disciple who wants to eat him by holding his leg. Hanuman ji 's meeting with fake guru and fake disciple is very indicative. Kaalnemi had said to him that he should take bath in the lake too, after drinking water because then he would embrace him as disciple and give deekcha/mantra- "Sar majjan kari aatur aavahu Dichcha deu gyan jehi pavahu" Hanuman ji came back after bathing. Kalnemi asked him to take dikcha. Hanuman ji said he will not take mantra without first giving his Gurudakchina and then - "Sir langoor lapeti pachara" Hanuman ji wound his tail around kalnemi's head and threw him on the ground. His confusion was cleared and he moved ahead. He reached the mountain but could not recognise the drug- " dekha sail na aushadh cheenha" He thought as if it was the day for confusion that is why everywhere he is mistaking in recognising. He pulled up the whole mountain- "Sahasa kapi upaari giri linha" He thought that the doctor will recognise the drug himself. Somewhere a feeling of pride surely came in him that he uprooted the whole mountain itself. The time was a bit unfavourable for him. When he was crossing the ocean in search of Sita ji,then in that first journey, mountain was below him and he was above it- "Jehi giri charan dei hanumanta" And today the mountain is above and hanuman ji is below it. When he was returning he suddenly recalled that he must see Bharat ji whose glories the Lord himself sings so much, and he came over Ayodhya. Two great saints came face to face. There is a big difference between hanuman ji and bharat ji. Hanuman ji 's body is like a mountain- "Atulitbaldhamam hemshilabhadeham" Whereas bharat ji is getting thinner day by day- "Deh dinahu din dubari hoi" He was so thin bodied that Hanuman ji could not even see him but bharat ji saw him because hanuman ji's body was so huge. Its spiritual meaning is that service of Hanuman ji is visible(sewa pragat hai) but bharat ji's service is not visible(agochar hai). Hanuman ji's service can be seen at every step. In Lanka battle his service is so much that it seems had he not been there then the battle would have been impossible to win. But if Bharat ji was not there it seems that there would have been no difference. So now when bharat ji saw that some huge bodied creature is going by skyway, lord did an amusing thing, he emerged a thought in bharat's heart that the creature is a demon- "Dekha bharat bisaal ati nisichar mann anumani" When bharat was about to kill, then lord it seems indicated," bharat this is not a demon but a saint; i have sent him to you to cure the demonic quality of self importance which has arisen in him for a while . It is very easy for me to kill a demon but difficult to cure when there is something like a demon in a saint. Where i have to cut the evils or sins there i can slay the sinner and thereby give the cure but safeguarding the sinner and curing the vices is difficult for me. I do not have the medicine for that hence i have sent him to you so that the disease dies and the patient is saved." So bharat ji shoots an arrow without its pointing tip- "Binu far sayak mareu chap shravan lagi taan" Hanuman ji falls down and faints. Through this small incident Lord showed Hanuman ji that the one doing nothing can do so much. Hanuman ji had burnt whole of Lanka and Rama had certified that there is no such warrior in both the armies. Today bharat ji has made that same Lanka victor fall down by a blunt arrow ! As if rama is telling hanuman ji that look how much strength is there in such a weak body! There is great strength in a huge physique is evident but there can be such strength in a weak body is made to feel to hanuman ji by Rama. Bharat ji shoots so skillfully that hanuman ji falls on the ground but the mountain stays hooked in the sky because bharat thinks that if this demon throws this mountain on the ground,whole of ayodhya would be destroyed. Lord delivered another signal that,"hanuman you think that you are holding this mountain? Look the holder or bearer of the mountain has fallen down and the mountain is still static in the sky." The miracle of a saint's arrow is evident. It implies that one is visible bearing the burden but in fact it is borne by someone else. A third fact is also revealed by this incident... DAND vs BHARAT PART 4 Hanuman ji has the drug to cure unconsciousness and he himself has fainted! He is taking medicine to remove other's unconsciousness but is unable to cure his own. If someone who corrects the vices of others, himself lands in some difficult situation then it is really dangerous. Lord showed hanuman ji ,the speciality of bharat ji. Though both are great but there is one uniqueness about bharat ji that is showcased by Rama by this incident. Hanuman ji's greatness lay in his bringing the doctor from Lanka,bringing the mountain that had the drug and that too within the time limit and the doctor was different,drug was different and time limit was different. But in Ayodhya, doctor,medicine and time all are present in bharat's personality itself, because to cure hanuman ji's unconsciousness,bharat ji does not bring any doctor or drug. It was not the case that there was no doctor or medicine available in Ayodhya but he did not need them. He brought out the healer and the medicine from his own personality. When he saw that hanuman ji was not coming to his senses he spontaneously said- "Jau more bach aru kaya Preeti ram pad kamal amaya Tau kapi hou bigat shram sula Jau mo par raghupati anukula" - "if by my heart,speech and body i have guileless(nishkapat)/sincere/honest love in the lotus feet of Shri Ram ji,and if he is happy on me then be this monkey without tiredness and pain." As soon as he spoke these words Hanuman ji got up. Lord it seems,indicates that ,"hanuman you too had this medicine with yourself, you too harbour this much love for me but it is you who has gone so far to fetch the medicine and it is bharat who has arranged for the medicine sitting here itself. Why does bharat seem inactive? Because he does not need to bring either the doctor or the medicine. He has everything in his personality itself." Bharat ji listens all the news from hanuman ji. One more difference is there in both the saints.it is said about hanuman ji that- "Raam kaju lagitav avtaara" And hanuman ji himself admits that he is made for serving Rama- "Raam kaaj kari firi mai aanwau" But bharat keeps his service hidden and here is his great victory. Even after carrying out this great service when he heard about lakchman being unconscious he spoke out- " ahah daiv mai kat jag jayaun Prabhu ke ekah kaaj na aayau" -"o god why was i born in the world when i came of no use to the Lord", and saying thus he started to cry. He did not think that he had cured hanuman ji's unconsciousness neither did his prideless nature imagine that he has given a lesson to hanuman ji. He only talks about his incapacity and shortcomings. He maledicts or curses himself that he is born only to cause harm to Lord's devotees; to give pain to Lord and his devotees ,otherwise how could he have hit such a big saint taking him to be a demon? Thinking all this bharat ji becomes so restless(vyakul hona) that he utters a sentence. Lord also desires that bharat be so restless that he utters that sentence and really if bharat ji would have not been so disturbed ,he would have never said those words in his life. Bharat ji says to hanuman - "Chadhu mam sayak sail sameta Pathwau tohi janh kripaniketa" -"much delay has been done,you do one thing, that ,sit on my arrow alongwith the mountain so that i can send you there, where the abode of grace and mercy ,Shri Ram ji is present." Hearing this, hanuman ji is looking at bharat ji over and over again. Bharat ji is just all bones and still offering hanuman ji to sit with the mountain on the arrow . It is exactly like asking a person weighing "10 MUN" 400kilograms approximately)to sit on a blade of grass and this- "Suni kapi mann upja abhimana More bhaar chalihi kimi baana" -caused pride in Hanuman ji's heart that how will the arrow move with his weight? In Geetawali Ramayan it is mentioned that hanuman ji sat on the arrow with the mountain and Shri Bharat pulled up the arrow on the string of the bow. Then hanuman ji jumped off the arrow and fell in Bharatji's feet and said that his confusion and misconception has been cleared and he was feeling blessed. Lord seems to indicate that," hanuman my arrow is to kill whereas bharat's arrow is to remove confusion and misconception." Hanuman had seen many types of arrows in his life. In the battle of Lanka so many miraculous arrows had been shot which have been described in detail in Valmiki Ramayan. Hanuman ji had a boon that no arrow will affect him but he saw such a strange arrow for the first time in his whole life that could make him fall! Moreover, he had seen the kind of arrows which caused fire,rains or those which killed but the arrow which made one reach near God ,hanuman ji had never seen such an arrow in his life! Hanuman ji asked lord Rama that," why do you not keep a saint like Bharat near you, why do you keep him away?" Lord replied,"hanuman ,you are in my service but those who can not reach me, are far away from me,a saint is needed to make them reach me . That is why i have kept bharat away so that he sends even those who are incapable to reach me!" So Shri Bharat is like this...if he is Lord Rama's bow then hanuman ji is the arrow. Bow appears to be static and arrow is moving but it moves with the power of the bow. If the bow does not give propelling force to the arrow by pulling its string ,then how will the arrow move? Rama wants to communicate to hanuman that ,"the battle we are fighting in lanka has in its background, the sadhana/practice of bharat,his love,his character,his penance. DAND vs BHARAT PART 2... Lakchman ji faints after being hit by Meghnad's 'shakti'. Meghnad tried to lift him up but could not. Hanuman ji comes and lifts him and takes him away . What was impossible for Meghnad was made possible by Hanuman ji. Then he wins over 'vaidya'/Healer/doctor/physician , 'kaal'/time and 'aushadh' /medicine. The physician is in lanka but who will bring him? "Aaneu bhawan samet turanta" Goswami ji writes that Hanuman ji brought him along with his house! Physician said drug/medicine is required. Where is it? Seven thousand 'yojans' far away. It should be brought before sunrise. Who will bring? No one comes forward,only hanuman ji comes and brings the drug within the time period. Thus he becomes the victor over physician,drug and time. He does this seemingly impossible task for Lakchman's safety which means the safety or protection of Lord Rama and rama's safety further implies the safety of the ideal of the whole universe. So when hanuman ji has left to bring the medicine , a playful thought arises in Lord Rama's heart that why not arrange for the meeting of the one who is most active at present with the one who seems to be most inactive. Hanuman ji is on a long journey and Bharat ji is sitting in Ayodhya. Rama wondered whether both should meet in the start or when hanuman ji is returning and then he decides that they would meet in the return journey of hanuman. Though during the start of the journey Rama makes hanuman meet a saint who is infact a fake saint . So he makes hanuman meet a fake saint while going and a real saint while returning because he is very happy on Hanuman ji. And the strangest fact is that the fake saint sings glories of the lord(katha sunata hai) and the real saint shoots him with an arrow! God's game is sometimes strange like this. He wants to tell Hanuman that whatever is visible outside is not always true and sometimes inner truth is the biggest truth. Those who say that Bharat ji did not go to the battle with the army are looking at the outer truth only. These people will take Kaalnemi as saint and not Bharat. If we try to explore the inner truth we will find that how sometimes there is dirty or malintention behind the visible pious action and how another action which is not clear outwardly has the most pious intention behind it. Ponder over Kaalnemi narrating ramkatha..why does he narrate it? So that hanuman ji gets delayed and is unable to bring the medicine on time and lakchman can not be saved ! Now Ram would have died too in separation of lakchman and Sita ji too would have died in Rama's separation. So that Katha which aims at killing of vairagya/detachment,gyaan/knowledge and bhakti/devotion can never be called as ramkatha. Rama is amusingly making hanuman see all this before meeting bharat. Firstly hanuman ji took kaalnemi as saint. Goswami ji writes- "Marutsut dekha subh ashram Munihi bujhi jal piyon jai shram" So what does this deceiving of Hanuman ji indicates? There is a sweet taunt in it as if Lord is alarming hanuman that he should not think that he can not be deceived ever. The effect of illusion(maya) and delusion(moh) is so great that he was also deceived for a moment. But Lord has great kripa/grace on hanuman ji that is why he is protected even after being deceived. He was thirsty and asks kaalnemi for water. He offers the kamandalu(water pot with a spout used by ascetics). Hanuman ji replies that his thirst can not be quenched/satisfied with little water. This has a great indicative meaning. If hanuman ji 's thirst was quenched with kalnemi's kamandalu he would have been deceived by him further. Those with little thirst get caught in the web of miracles. Someone has thirst of money while somebody has thirst for child while someone else has thirst for name or courtcase. But Hanuman ji has a bigger thirst and hunger. He said to Sita ji - "Sunahu matu mohi atisay bhukha" I am very hungry.. Those having a small thirst and hunger are satisfied with worldly materials but those with bigger thirst and hunger is satiated only with devotion and love. Tulsidas ji writes in vinaypatrika- "Dwaar hou bhor hi ko aaju Ratat ririha aari aur na,kaur hi te kaju Janam ko bhukho bhikhari hau garibniwaju" Lord asks," how much will you need to fill your stomach?" Tulsidas ji says," i am very hungry..feed me full stomach- "Pait bhar tulsihi jenwaiy" " What will you eat?"-- "bhagati sudha anaaju!" Tulsidas ji said,"this stomach will not get filled up with worldly things. It can only get filled up by the delightful grains of devotion." To be continued.. -SHRI RAMKINKAR JI UPADHYAYA
DAND vs BHARAT PART 5 When hanuman ji came back and lakchman ji was cured by the medicine then during free time ,Lord asked him about the experience of the journey. Hanuman ji said," O lord you made me experience so much;when i had gone with your message to lanka then the ocean which lay in between ,i crossed it so easily but i drowned in the ocean i met in this journey!". Hanuman ji indicated towards bharat ji. Tulsidas ji writes- "Pem amiya mandaru birahu bharatu payodhi gambheer" Love is 'amrit',separation is mandarachal mountain and bharat ji is the deep ocean. Hanuman ji could not cross this sea because it was endless. In tulsidas ji's words- "Bharat bahu bal seel gunn prabhu pad preeti apaar" Hearing this Lord embraces hanuman ji instantly ,saying,"hanuman no one is as fortunate as you who crossed the ocean of pride and drowned in the sea of love. This is fullness. It is not worth to cross both the oceans,instead it is in crossing the ocean of pride of lanka and drowning in bharat's ocean of love." Therefore ,today,when Lord is not able to lift bharat up,he says," bharat, you had weighed hanuman with the mountain, the very same hanuman who took away both of us brothers on his shoulder. So today if my arms can not lift you up, it is not surprising. It seems the weight of your virtues has increased!" Bharat ji hearing this,said,"No Lord it is not like that. Till today you have carried across so many sinners but the weight of my sins has become so heavy that today even God is not able to lift me up. See how big a cuprit i am,first i sent you to the forests then shot the arrow on a devotee. My sins have no limit." Tulsidas ji writes in Vinaypatrika-- "Swami ki sewak hitta sab,kachu nij sai- drohai Mai mati-tula tauli dekhi bhayi merehi disi garuaayi" "When i weighed on the scale of my intellect,on one hand all the fondness,affect and tenderness Lord had towards his servant and a bit of treachery towards master on the other hand, and on weighing, my side turned to be heavier" It means that even after having in his life so much of dharma,service,action there is so much of egolessness,pridelessness in bharat ji that he views himself as Lord's puppet. Just like in the puppet show, the puppet is never tired,instead the puppetman gets tired and puppet's dancing is not dependent on his own skill but on the skill of the dance master,bharat ji considers himself like that puppet only. All the dances that exist in the world,the dancer is caught up in situations but in puppet dance,the puppetman is caught up in trouble. If the dance of the worldly dancers is an example of doing of duty and responsibilty laden action then puppet dance is free of them. Dand vs Bharat part 1- Sin in the form of Dand has its answer in Bharat ji. Dand became intoxicated and unruly(unmatt aur uddand) after getting power and position. Man becomes so shameless after getting power that he dares to see with bad intention where he should not ever see as such. Dand became indulgent after getting power. On the other hand there is Bharat's character ,to whom the reins of such a huge kingdom of Ayodhya was given and he carried out its affairs for fourteen years but never had the smell of pride in him. If Dand is the limit or epitome of intoxication of power then Bharat ji is epitome of pridelessness(nirabhimanta). Rama fought one battle in Lanka and the other was fought by Bharat in Ayodhya. Rama's battle was visibke but bharat's battle was invisible ,that is why many people misunderstood that Bharat did not take part in the war. Leave alone common people, even the greatest of characters felt that way. Even today many people say to me that Bharat ji should have gone to Lanka with the army specially when he had heard all the news from Hanuman ji; did it suit his character? So what is the implication of Bharat ji not going to Lanka? If we contemplate deeply we will see that Bharat ji did the right thing because if a battle is being fought on two fronts then intelligence is not that everyone be present on one front ,instead wherever one is positioned ,he should carry out his duty from there only. Lord Ram had handed over one battle to Bharat and had indicated that bharat's battle would be harder than his own war because Rama would fight with the demons with the help of the army and his battle would be visible to everyone but bharat will have to fight alone and his battle would be invisible to all. Bharat lives in Ayodhya and fights with the weaknesses dwelling in the hearts of kaikeyi,dashrath and the citizens of Ayodhya because in their presence Ramrajya could never be established. Hanuman ji also doubted about Bharat ji. In Lanka after fighting in the day ,when Lord sat in the night , he always used to talk about Bharat and when he sung the glories of Bharat, hanuman ji used to think that Rama is doing so as per his nature and bharat ji does not have his own qualities as such. He used to think that if Bharat ji was so qualified ,should he not have come to lanka with the army to take part in such a big battle? Lord is 'antaryami'/all knower ,he understands the feeling of hanuman ji and thinks that two greatest of devotees should meet and get familiar with each other. So Lord plans their meeting and at the crucial time when Hanuman ji was all set to do the biggest job of his life,was going to make possible ,what was an impossible job! DAND VS BHARAT PART 6 So, if one has to prevent himself from doing sins out of pride then he must keep Shri Bharat's example before him ; to prevent oneself from committing sins because of his mind then one must be continuously absorbed in the memory of the Lord and if he has to avoid sins arising out of misguiding of intellect,then he must have vision like Shankar ji. But, if we can not bring vision like Shankar ji, we may not possess egolessness like Bharat ji and our mind(mann) may not be like that of Sita ji, should we then lose hope???? No it is not like that,these other three characters are great too who put their mind in the lotus feet of the Lord. Ahilya,Dandakwan and Mareech -these three too were blessed. It means that if we are not situated in our higher selves, even then there is nothing to worry. If we take the shelter of Lord's feet,then just like those feet through their dust(renu) made ahilya lively from a static stone,freed dandakvan from curse and gave a new life to it and also ran after Mareech ending his fickleness(chanchalta) and accepted him as his asana or seat,similarly these feet will also destroy our impurities and sinfulness and make us blessed. The scene is like,mareech is running and Lord Ram is running behind him with bow and arrow. Mareech looks back again and again. Lord it seems asked," Mareech you came near me then why are you running back now?" Mareech replied," Lord i came to surrender but lost my courage after coming here." Lord asked," why ? How have you lost your courage?" Mareech-" i have heard that there is a rule of being guileless,honest and innocent for getting your shelter because you say- Nirmal mann jan so mohi pawa Mohi kapat chhal chidra na bhawa -i do not like guile/deceitfulness/dishonesty(kapat) and we are such hypocrites,dishonest beings that we can not leave our nature so we are going back after reasoning that we are not fit to attain you." Ram-" if you are running back then why are you returning and looking back again and again?" Mareech-"Lord we know that we are dishonest and can not achieve you but i was looking by returning back again and again,that ,can you reach us or not?" It means that one who does not have faith in his Sadhna/spiritual practice, and if he believes in the mercy and grace of God and think that no matter that he is unable to reach God by his own efforts(purusharth) but the Lord can have him by his grace and thus he will achieve his welfare. Today, Vibhishan is contemplating on all these as he is going to meet Lord Rama. He is thinking that even if he does not possess purity but just like Ahilya,Dandakvan and Mareech through total surrender ,got the touch of his(rama's) feet,similarly he will also get them and his sins and distress would be washed away and he will be blessed. Vibhishan crossed the vast ocean with this faith and hope in his heart and meets the Lord on arrival. -SHRI RAMKINKAR UPADHYAYA
PREM MURTI BHARAT PART 6 Decoration of the carriages of the wedding procession was given to Shri Bharat ji and this job was very dear to him. Those highly fortunate horses of the Lord who have experienced the pleasant touch of the Lord again and again and who have grown up under the love and care of the Lord,to serve them was the foremost part of the daily schedule of Shri Bharat and these horses too were only satisfied when they saw Bharat ji. For them Shri Bharat who was living in separation from the lord,was their dearer than life,thèir Raghvendra . Same blue- clouds colored body,same enchanting radiance,differentiation just became impossible. The horses were adorned and the procession even reached Janakpur. Shri Bharat and the Lord met. Both are delighted. Shri Bharat ji ardently desired to have a look at the moon face of the Lord but the eyes are bowing down with the weight of love,humility and humbleness that they could not rise up towards the Lord's face. Bharat ji was left standing there with eyes stuck at the lotus feet of the Lord and just gazing at them. -SHRI RAMKINKAR JI UPADHYAYA

DAND vs BHARAT PART 3..
So hanuman ji 's thirst can be quenched by love and hunger by devotion. Then Kaalnemi says there is only this much water in the pot, if you want more then go to the lake. Hanuman ji goes there and bathes and god's grace or kripa is received by him. Lord thinks that this devotee of mine has big thirst and he reached the one with small pot taking him as a saint, now i should shower my grace. As soon as hanuman ji enters the lake, a she-croodile catches his foot. Hanuman ji hits her-
"Sar paithatkapi pad gaha makri tab akulaan
Maari so dhari dibya tanu chali gagan chadhi jaan"..
This has an indicative meaning. She asks hanuman ji," maharaj if someone holds your legs then should he be blessed or beaten?" Hanuman ji said,"people like you should be beaten only." She again said,"then such people reciting katha should also be hit", and she signals-
"Muni na hoi yah nisichar ghora
Manahu satya bachan kapi mora"
She intents to say," like i caught your leg not out of respect,but to eat you,similarly he who is narrating ramkatha is also there to eat you!"
Hanuman ji got such a Guru who by singing Lord's praises ,wants to keep him away from the Lord and such a disciple who wants to eat him by holding his leg. Hanuman ji 's meeting with fake guru and fake disciple is very indicative. Kaalnemi had said to him that he should take bath in the lake too, after drinking water because then he would embrace him as disciple and give deekcha/mantra-
"Sar majjan kari aatur aavahu
Dichcha deu gyan jehi pavahu"
Hanuman ji came back after bathing. Kalnemi asked him to take dikcha. Hanuman ji said he will not take mantra without first giving his Gurudakchina and then -
"Sir langoor lapeti pachara"
Hanuman ji wound his tail around kalnemi's head and threw him on the ground. His confusion was cleared and he moved ahead. He reached the mountain but could not recognise the drug-
" dekha sail na aushadh cheenha"
He thought as if it was the day for confusion that is why
everywhere he is mistaking in recognising. He pulled up the whole mountain-
"Sahasa kapi upaari giri linha"
He thought that the doctor will recognise the drug himself. Somewhere a feeling of pride surely came in him that he uprooted the whole mountain itself. The time was a bit unfavourable for him. When he was crossing the ocean in search of Sita ji,then in that first journey, mountain was below him and he was above it-
"Jehi giri charan dei hanumanta"
And today the mountain is above and hanuman ji is below it. When he was returning he suddenly recalled that he must see Bharat ji whose glories the Lord himself sings so much, and he came over Ayodhya. Two great saints came face to face. There is a big difference between hanuman ji and bharat ji. Hanuman ji 's body is like a mountain-
"Atulitbaldhamam hemshilabhadeham"
Whereas bharat ji is getting thinner day by day-
"Deh dinahu din dubari hoi"
He was so thin bodied that Hanuman ji could not even see him but bharat ji saw him because hanuman ji's body was so huge. Its spiritual meaning is that service of Hanuman ji is visible(sewa pragat hai) but bharat ji's service is not visible(agochar hai). Hanuman ji's service can be seen at every step. In Lanka battle his service is so much that it seems had he not been there then the battle would have been impossible to win. But if Bharat ji was not there it seems that there would have been no difference.
So now when bharat ji saw that some huge bodied creature is going by skyway, lord did an amusing thing, he emerged a thought in bharat's heart that the creature is a demon-
"Dekha bharat bisaal ati nisichar mann anumani"
When bharat was about to kill, then lord it seems indicated," bharat this is not a demon but a saint; i have sent him to you to cure the demonic quality of self importance which has arisen in him for a while . It is very easy for me to kill a demon but difficult to cure when there is something like a demon in a saint. Where i have to cut the evils or sins there i can slay the sinner and thereby give the cure but safeguarding the sinner and curing the vices is difficult for me. I do not have the medicine for that hence i have sent him to you so that the disease dies and the patient is saved."
So bharat ji shoots an arrow without its pointing tip-
"Binu far sayak mareu chap shravan lagi taan"
Hanuman ji falls down and faints. Through this small incident Lord showed Hanuman ji that the one doing nothing can do so much. Hanuman ji had burnt whole of Lanka and Rama had certified that there is no such warrior in both the armies. Today bharat ji has made that same Lanka victor fall down by a blunt arrow ! As if rama is telling hanuman ji that look how much strength is there in such a weak body! There is great strength in a huge physique is evident but there can be such strength in a weak body is made to feel to hanuman ji by Rama. Bharat ji shoots so skillfully that hanuman ji falls on the ground but the mountain stays hooked in the sky because bharat thinks that if this demon throws this mountain on the ground,whole of ayodhya would be destroyed. Lord delivered another signal that,"hanuman you think that you are holding this mountain? Look the holder or bearer of the mountain has fallen down and the mountain is still static in the sky." The miracle of a saint's arrow is evident. It implies that one is visible bearing the burden but in fact it is borne by someone else.
A third fact is also revealed by this incident...

DAND vs BHARAT PART 4
Hanuman ji has the drug to cure unconsciousness and he himself has fainted! He is taking medicine to remove other's unconsciousness but is unable to cure his own. If someone who corrects the vices of others, himself lands in some difficult situation then it is really dangerous. Lord showed hanuman ji ,the speciality of bharat ji. Though both are great but there is one uniqueness about bharat ji that is showcased by Rama by this incident. Hanuman ji's greatness lay in his bringing the doctor from Lanka,bringing the mountain that had the drug and that too within the time limit and the doctor was different,drug was different and time limit was different. But in Ayodhya, doctor,medicine and time all are present in bharat's personality itself, because to cure hanuman ji's unconsciousness,bharat ji does not bring any doctor or drug. It was not the case that there was no doctor or medicine available in Ayodhya but he did not need them. He brought out the healer and the medicine from his own personality. When he saw that hanuman ji was not coming to his senses he spontaneously said-
"Jau more bach aru kaya
Preeti ram pad kamal amaya
Tau kapi hou bigat shram sula
Jau mo par raghupati anukula"
- "if by my heart,speech and body i have guileless(nishkapat)/sincere/honest love in the lotus feet of Shri Ram ji,and if he is happy on me then be this monkey without tiredness and pain."
As soon as he spoke these words Hanuman ji got up. Lord it seems,indicates that ,"hanuman you too had this medicine with yourself, you too harbour this much love for me but it is you who has gone so far to fetch the medicine and it is bharat who has arranged for the medicine sitting here itself. Why does bharat seem inactive? Because he does not need to bring either the doctor or the medicine. He has everything in his personality itself."
Bharat ji listens all the news from hanuman ji. One more difference is there in both the saints.it is said about hanuman ji that-
"Raam kaju lagitav avtaara"
And hanuman ji himself admits that he is made for serving Rama-
"Raam kaaj kari firi mai aanwau"
But bharat keeps his service hidden and here is his great victory. Even after carrying out this great service when he heard about lakchman being unconscious he spoke out-
" ahah daiv mai kat jag jayaun
Prabhu ke ekah kaaj na aayau"
-"o god why was i born in the world when i came of no use to the Lord", and saying thus he started to cry. He did not think that he had cured hanuman ji's unconsciousness neither did his prideless nature imagine that he has given a lesson to hanuman ji. He only talks about his incapacity and shortcomings. He maledicts or curses himself that he is born only to cause harm to Lord's devotees; to give pain to Lord and his devotees ,otherwise how could he have hit such a big saint taking him to be a demon? Thinking all this bharat ji becomes so restless(vyakul hona) that he utters a sentence. Lord also desires that bharat be so restless that he utters that sentence and really if bharat ji would have not been so disturbed ,he would have never said those words in his life. Bharat ji says to hanuman -
"Chadhu mam sayak sail sameta
Pathwau tohi janh kripaniketa"
-"much delay has been done,you do one thing, that ,sit on my arrow alongwith the mountain so that i can send you there, where the abode of grace and mercy ,Shri Ram ji is present."
Hearing this, hanuman ji is looking at bharat ji over and over again. Bharat ji is just all bones and still offering hanuman ji to sit with the mountain on the arrow . It is exactly like asking a person weighing "10 MUN" 400kilograms approximately)to sit on a blade of grass and this-
"Suni kapi mann upja abhimana
More bhaar chalihi kimi baana"
-caused pride in Hanuman ji's heart that how will the arrow move with his weight? In Geetawali Ramayan it is mentioned that hanuman ji sat on the arrow with the mountain and Shri Bharat pulled up the arrow on the string of the bow. Then hanuman ji jumped off the arrow and fell in Bharatji's feet and said that his confusion and misconception has been cleared and he was feeling blessed. Lord seems to indicate that," hanuman my arrow is to kill whereas bharat's arrow is to remove confusion and misconception."
Hanuman had seen many types of arrows in his life. In the battle of Lanka so many miraculous arrows had been shot which have been described in detail in Valmiki Ramayan. Hanuman ji had a boon that no arrow will affect him but he saw such a strange arrow for the first time in his whole life that could make him fall! Moreover, he had seen the kind of arrows which caused fire,rains or those which killed but the arrow which made one reach near God ,hanuman ji had never seen such an arrow in his life!
Hanuman ji asked lord Rama that," why do you not keep a saint like Bharat near you, why do you keep him away?" Lord replied,"hanuman ,you are in my service but those who can not reach me, are far away from me,a saint is needed to make them reach me . That is why i have kept bharat away so that he sends even those who are incapable to reach me!"
So Shri Bharat is like this...if he is Lord Rama's bow then hanuman ji is the arrow. Bow appears to be static and arrow is moving but it moves with the power of the bow. If the bow does not give propelling force to the arrow by pulling its string ,then how will the arrow move? Rama wants to communicate to hanuman that ,"the battle we are fighting in lanka has in its background, the sadhana/practice of bharat,his love,his character,his penance. The victory that we will achieve would be the victory of bharat's "tapa"(penance) and "prem"(love)."

DAND vs BHARAT PART 2...
Lakchman ji faints after being hit by Meghnad's 'shakti'. Meghnad tried to lift him up but could not. Hanuman ji comes and lifts him and takes him away . What was impossible for Meghnad was made possible by Hanuman ji. Then he wins over 'vaidya'/Healer/doctor/physician , 'kaal'/time and 'aushadh' /medicine. The physician is in lanka but who will bring him? "Aaneu bhawan samet turanta"
Goswami ji writes that Hanuman ji brought him along with his house!
Physician said drug/medicine is required. Where is it? Seven thousand 'yojans' far away. It should be brought before sunrise. Who will bring? No one comes forward,only hanuman ji comes and brings the drug within the time period. Thus he becomes the victor over physician,drug and time. He does this seemingly impossible task for Lakchman's safety which means the safety or protection of Lord Rama and rama's safety further implies the safety of the ideal of the whole universe. So when hanuman ji has left to bring the medicine , a playful thought arises in Lord Rama's heart that why not arrange for the meeting of the one who is most active at present with the one who seems to be most inactive. Hanuman ji is on a long journey and Bharat ji is sitting in Ayodhya. Rama wondered whether both should meet in the start or when hanuman ji is returning and then he decides that they would meet in the return journey of hanuman. Though during the start of the journey Rama makes hanuman meet a saint who is infact a fake saint . So he makes hanuman meet a fake saint while going and a real saint while returning because he is very happy on Hanuman ji. And the strangest fact is that the fake saint sings glories of the lord(katha sunata hai) and the real saint shoots him with an arrow!
God's game is sometimes strange like this. He wants to tell Hanuman that whatever is visible outside is not always true and sometimes inner truth is the biggest truth. Those who say that Bharat ji did not go to the battle with the army are looking at the outer truth only. These people will take Kaalnemi as saint and not Bharat. If we try to explore the inner truth we will find that how sometimes there is dirty or malintention behind the visible pious action and how another action which is not clear outwardly has the most pious intention behind it.
Ponder over Kaalnemi narrating ramkatha..why does he narrate it? So that hanuman ji gets delayed and is unable to bring the medicine on time and lakchman can not be saved ! Now Ram would have died too in separation of lakchman and Sita ji too would have died in Rama's separation. So that Katha which aims at killing of vairagya/detachment,gyaan/knowledge and bhakti/devotion can never be called as ramkatha. Rama is amusingly making hanuman see all this before meeting bharat. Firstly hanuman ji took kaalnemi as saint. Goswami ji writes-
"Marutsut dekha subh ashram
Munihi bujhi jal piyon jai shram"
So what does this deceiving of Hanuman ji indicates? There is a sweet taunt in it as if Lord is alarming hanuman that he should not think that he can not be deceived ever. The effect of illusion(maya) and delusion(moh) is so great that he was also deceived for a moment. But Lord has great kripa/grace on hanuman ji that is why he is protected even after being deceived. He was thirsty and asks kaalnemi for water. He offers the kamandalu(water pot with a spout used by ascetics). Hanuman ji replies that his thirst can not be quenched/satisfied with little water. This has a great indicative meaning. If hanuman ji 's thirst was quenched with kalnemi's kamandalu he would have been deceived by him further. Those with little thirst get caught in the web of miracles. Someone has thirst of money while somebody has thirst for child while someone else has thirst for name or courtcase.
But Hanuman ji has a bigger thirst and hunger. He said to Sita ji -
"Sunahu matu mohi atisay bhukha"
I am very hungry..
Those having a small thirst and hunger are satisfied with worldly materials but those with bigger thirst and hunger is satiated only with devotion and love.
Tulsidas ji writes in vinaypatrika-
"Dwaar hou bhor hi ko aaju
Ratat ririha aari aur na,kaur hi te kaju
Janam ko bhukho bhikhari hau garibniwaju"
Lord asks," how much will you need to fill your stomach?" Tulsidas ji says," i am very hungry..feed me full stomach-
"Pait bhar tulsihi jenwaiy"
" What will you eat?"-- "bhagati sudha anaaju!"
Tulsidas ji said,"this stomach will not get filled up with worldly things. It can only get filled up by the delightful grains of devotion."

DAND vs BHARAT PART 5
When hanuman ji came back and lakchman ji was cured by the medicine then during free time ,Lord asked him about the experience of the journey. Hanuman ji said," O lord you made me experience so much;when i had gone with your message to lanka then the ocean which lay in between ,i crossed it so easily but i drowned in the ocean i met in this journey!". Hanuman ji indicated towards bharat ji. Tulsidas ji writes-
"Pem amiya mandaru birahu bharatu payodhi gambheer"
Love is 'amrit',separation is mandarachal mountain and bharat ji is the deep ocean. Hanuman ji could not cross this sea because it was endless. In tulsidas ji's words-
"Bharat bahu bal seel gunn prabhu pad preeti apaar"
Hearing this Lord embraces hanuman ji instantly ,saying,"hanuman no one is as fortunate as you who crossed the ocean of pride and drowned in the sea of love. This is fullness. It is not worth to cross both the oceans,instead it is in crossing the ocean of pride of lanka and drowning in bharat's ocean of love."
Therefore ,today,when Lord is not able to lift bharat up,he says," bharat, you had weighed hanuman with the mountain, the very same hanuman who took away both of us brothers on his shoulder. So today if my arms can not lift you up, it is not surprising. It seems the weight of your virtues has increased!"
Bharat ji hearing this,said,"No Lord it is not like that. Till today you have carried across so many sinners but the weight of my sins has become so heavy that today even God is not able to lift me up. See how big a cuprit i am,first i sent you to the forests then shot the arrow on a devotee. My sins have no limit."
Tulsidas ji writes in Vinaypatrika--
"Swami ki sewak hitta sab,kachu nij sai- drohai
Mai mati-tula tauli dekhi bhayi merehi disi garuaayi"
"When i weighed on the scale of my intellect,on one hand all the fondness,affect and tenderness Lord had towards his servant and a bit of treachery towards master on the other hand, and on weighing, my side turned to be heavier"
It means that even after having in his life so much of dharma,service,action there is so much of egolessness,pridelessness in bharat ji that he views himself as Lord's puppet. Just like in the puppet show, the puppet is never tired,instead the puppetman gets tired and puppet's dancing is not dependent on his own skill but on the skill of the dance master,bharat ji considers himself like that puppet only. All the dances that exist in the world,the dancer is caught up in situations but in puppet dance,the puppetman is caught up in trouble. If the dance of the worldly dancers is an example of doing of duty and responsibilty laden action then puppet dance is free of them. Such doing free action laden emotion represented by bharat ji is answer to sin in the form of DAND.

Dand vs Bharat part 1-
Sin in the form of Dand has its answer in Bharat ji. Dand became intoxicated and unruly(unmatt aur uddand) after getting power and position. Man becomes so shameless after getting power that he dares to see with bad intention where he should not ever see as such. Dand became indulgent after getting power. On the other hand there is Bharat's character ,to whom the reins of such a huge kingdom of Ayodhya was given and he carried out its affairs for fourteen years but never had the smell of pride in him. If Dand is the limit or epitome of intoxication of power then Bharat ji is epitome of pridelessness(nirabhimanta).
Rama fought one battle in Lanka and the other was fought by Bharat in Ayodhya. Rama's battle was visibke but bharat's battle was invisible ,that is why many people misunderstood that Bharat did not take part in the war. Leave alone common people, even the greatest of characters felt that way. Even today many people say to me that Bharat ji should have gone to Lanka with the army specially when he had heard all the news from Hanuman ji; did it suit his character? So what is the implication of Bharat ji not going to Lanka?
If we contemplate deeply we will see that Bharat ji did the right thing because if a battle is being fought on two fronts then intelligence is not that everyone be present on one front ,instead wherever one is positioned ,he should carry out his duty from there only. Lord Ram had handed over one battle to Bharat and had indicated that bharat's battle would be harder than his own war because Rama would fight with the demons with the help of the army and his battle would be visible to everyone but bharat will have to fight alone and his battle would be invisible to all. Bharat lives in Ayodhya and fights with the weaknesses dwelling in the hearts of kaikeyi,dashrath and the citizens of Ayodhya because in their presence Ramrajya could never be established.
Hanuman ji also doubted about Bharat ji. In Lanka after fighting in the day ,when Lord sat in the night , he always used to talk about Bharat and when he sung the glories of Bharat, hanuman ji used to think that Rama is doing so as per his nature and bharat ji does not have his own qualities as such. He used to think that if Bharat ji was so qualified ,should he not have come to lanka with the army to take part in such a big battle? Lord is 'antaryami'/all knower ,he understands the feeling of hanuman ji and thinks that two greatest of devotees should meet and get familiar with each other. So Lord plans their meeting and at the crucial time when Hanuman ji was all set to do the biggest job of his life,was going to make possible ,what was an impossible job!

So, if one has to prevent himself from doing sins out of pride then he must keep Shri Bharat's example before him ; to prevent oneself from committing sins
because of his mind then one must be continuously absorbed in the memory of the Lord and if he has to avoid sins arising out of misguiding of intellect,then he must have vision like Shankar ji.
But, if we can not bring vision like Shankar ji, we may not possess egolessness like Bharat ji and our mind(mann) may not be like that of Sita ji, should we then lose hope????
No it is not like that,these other three characters are great too who put their mind in the lotus feet of the Lord. Ahilya,Dandakwan and Mareech -these three too were blessed. It means that if we are not situated in our higher selves, even then there is nothing to worry. If we take the shelter of Lord's feet,then just like those feet through their dust(renu) made ahilya lively from a static stone,freed dandakvan from curse and gave a new life to it and also ran after Mareech ending his fickleness(chanchalta) and accepted him as his asana or seat,similarly these feet will also destroy our impurities and sinfulness and make us blessed.
The scene is like,mareech is running and Lord Ram is running behind him with bow and arrow. Mareech looks back again and again. Lord it seems asked," Mareech you came near me then why are you running back now?"
Mareech replied," Lord i came to surrender but lost my courage after coming here."
Lord asked," why ? How have you lost your courage?"
Mareech-" i have heard that there is a rule of being guileless,honest and innocent for getting your shelter because you say-
Nirmal mann jan so mohi pawa
Mohi kapat chhal chidra na bhawa
-i do not like guile/deceitfulness/dishonesty(kapat) and we are such hypocrites,dishonest beings that we can not leave our nature so we are going back after reasoning that we are not fit to attain you."
Ram-" if you are running back then why are you returning and looking back again and again?"
Mareech-"Lord we know that we are dishonest and can not achieve you but i was looking by returning back again and again,that ,can you reach us or not?"
It means that one who does not have faith in his Sadhna/spiritual practice, and if he believes in the mercy and grace of God and think that no matter that he is unable to reach God by his own efforts(purusharth) but the Lord can have him by his grace and thus he will achieve his welfare.
Today, Vibhishan is contemplating on all these as he is going to meet Lord Rama. He is thinking that even if he does not possess purity but just like Ahilya,Dandakvan and Mareech through total surrender ,got the touch of his(rama's) feet,similarly he will also get them and his sins and distress would be washed away and he will be blessed. Vibhishan crossed the vast ocean with this faith and hope in his heart and meets the Lord on arrival.

PART 6
Decoration of the carriages of the wedding procession was given to Shri Bharat ji and this job was very dear to him. Those highly fortunate horses of the Lord who have experienced the pleasant touch of the Lord again and again and who have grown up under the love and care of the Lord,to serve them was the foremost part of the daily schedule of Shri Bharat and these horses too were only satisfied when they saw Bharat ji. For them Shri Bharat who was living in separation from the lord,was their dearer than life,thèir Raghvendra . Same blue- clouds colored body,same enchanting radiance,differentiation just became impossible.
The horses were adorned and the procession even reached Janakpur. Shri Bharat and the Lord met. Both are delighted. Shri Bharat ji ardently desired to have a look at the moon face of the Lord but the eyes are bowing down with the weight of love,humility and humbleness that they could not rise up towards the Lord's face. Bharat ji was left standing there with eyes stuck at the lotus feet of the Lord and just gazing at them.
