    Without Peter Green, Fleetwood Mac wouldn't have gained mainstream success in the U.S. He was their guide and leader.

      Yes, in a way, because he put the band together. But the man who personally guided Fleetwood Mac to America was Bob Welch.

    Peter Green and Danny Kirwin were excellent musicians. This is cool footage. There aren't really any early interviews with Peter Green.

      Nah it's good that they didn't Stevie Nicks ugly ass voice touch his amazing songs. At least Buckingham could play "Oh Well" pretty good though. I have the 1980 live album and that's where I first heard Oh well before hearing the Peter Green version.

    This must've been at the end of 1969 or beginning of 1970, after "and play on" was recorded.
    Peter Green comes across like a really genuine, nice, humble guy. What a tragedy how he had mental health issues and got drug-f_cked.

    Peter got fed up with the music industry back then and dropped out. I can't imagine how he would put up with it today.

      Heavy psychedelic drug use, fame, and the emergence of severe mental health issues were the main factors that influenced Peter Green’s disappearance from the music scene during that time period.

    • @mikemurdock7234
      @mikemurdock7234 Рік тому +2

      @@briantaylor2.023 Read the authorized biography of Peter Green by Martin Clemis. He was very fed up with the music industry. LSD didn't make his mental health go like that overnight, or the infamous Munich incident. Mick Fleetwood and the band's manager begged Peter to finish the band's 1972 tour when Jeremy Spencer ran off to join a cult. They never talk about Peter finishing that tour for them cause it points out holes in their "he went crazy" story. Peter hated the music industry and really had a lot of issues with the greed he was witnessing. He rejected being a rich rock star.

    • @reflection9924
      @reflection9924 4 місяці тому

      @@mikemurdock7234 That makes sense, but I'm sure he still did go through some bad stuff because of drugs. Can't disagree with you on the rest though. BTW, he actually came back to help finish their tour around Feb of 1971, a few months before Bob Welch joined the band.

      @@recordguy4321 yep although they were playing many of the songs off then play on in their live sets back in 69 I don't think the album made it to the states till 70 I could be wrong but I do think that the oh well single was released in 69 in the UK
      Cheers

      @@gregoryirwin263 correct, in the states the first couple albums were on Epic and they switched labels in 1970 to Reprise. Oh Well was released as a single which they discuss in the interview, and i believe green manalishi was the follow up single.
