Meet The Woman Creating Replica Babies Made To Order! | This Morning

They’re ultra-lifelike dolls, which feel, smell, and even breathe like newborn babies. 65-year-old Jayne Seddon turned her talents towards making ‘reborn dolls’ over two decades ago and has been making them bespoke to order ever since. But despite proving popular with children, these dolls aren’t to be played with - they’ve also helped Alzheimer’s patients, and grieving parents. Jayne joins us today to tell us more and share the intricate week-long process of making each doll.

I've been a doll collector for over 40 years and collect all types of different dolls 😀❤️ I've been collecting Reborn Art Dolls for 4 years and the hyper-realism of these dolls are absolutely incredible! Many hours go into the artwork to create these lifelike dolls (sculptors create a sculpt which is then manufactured into a vinyl kit which is then hand-painted by a reborn artist). These dolls are amazing works of art and a wonderful addition to any doll collection ❤

I'm in a Nursing Home and all Staff and Residents really love them.
The even bought smaller ones for Residents Men and Women ❤

They're collectibles, like collecting coins or cards or anything really.
Also, They're therapy dolls for people with dementia or autism or someone who lost a child, etc.

Let’s not forget some very disturbed people have actually had an obsession with these reborns to the point where they have lost touch with reality and ended up having psychological and psychiatric disorders….one was a woman in Darlington in 2014 who spent £20,000 on them and neglected her own 2 real life children…not buying them cloths because they would grow out of them….but bought designer clothes for the reborn…..all this because she had lost a child..…and eventually the marriage broke down…and several similar documented cases have been reported in America…..
