      @@clindholm9396 it was confirmed it was him a couple of weeks after the campsite and remains were found. He had traversed quite a few kilometers through some steep drainage systems before being unable to continue. Whiteout conditions are a scary thing when they hit. Can't imagine being on a mountain trying to work down when they hit.

    I wanted to tell you that the city disappearances are also very puzzling. A lady from my church was walking downtown Toronto one day. She was seen on a busy street on cctv and was never seen again. She vanished. Sending love to all of the families affected by these disappearances. ❤

    The last story about the couple is strange. Their last time together before she moves far away and he leaves his cellphone in the car not even wanting to take pictures of them or their trip for social media. Is it possible he couldnt live without her and her moving , he couldnt handle it and did something to her or both of them? Even the name of the lake is eerie. I hope answers come about all of these missing loved ones. 🇨🇦

    In British Columbia, Canada we have a public education television network which has shown a series on the Vancouver S&R organization, the busiest S&R outfit in Canada. I watched some of it and was surprised to hear the suggestion that "self-deletion" probably is a factor in some missing cases. Plus there are many holes people can fall in.

    As tragic and horrifying as it is to die in the wilderness via exposure and occasionally bear (like 90% of these stories- creepy about the fire watch lady though), there’s something to be said about dying doing what you love, surrounded in the place you most love being. It doesn’t make it easier I’m sure, but it’s some small consolation.

    Regarding Christina Calayca: I have been to Rainbow falls many times. The road splits between going to the campground vs going to the actual falls. She was last seen on the roadway to the falls. That roadway has heavy bush on both sides and it would be obvious if any animal went through there to attack Christina. Also, the falls are a short way down this roadway and signage is good as to which trail goes where. I don't know what happened but can't imagine anyone getting lost there.

    Bart is an interesting one. Since he was studying grizzly bears so directedly, I can see arguing both extremes -- either he MUST have been killed by a grizzly, since he may have taken an interest in them and seemingly went out with a bow, but no gun or spray or anything with which to protect from bears, or he obviously COULDN'T have been killed by a bear, because he just knew too much about grizzly's ever to put himself in that position and anyway it doesn't LOOK like a bear attack. That said, it doesn't look particularly like another person attacked him either, or like he had a medical disaster or a mental heath break and either killed himself or was the victim of the collapse of his own body. In this case it's strange to find so much, and yet still not be sure. Maybe he was attacked by an animal or had a medical issue or was attacked by a person and THEN a person, the same one or another one, intervened to fix up the scene . . .But without leaving a trace of themselves? Does anyone know anything that makes them look at this and say, "Really this makes me think it must have been THIS" ? I give. This one's a very strange puzzle.

    • @MattCarvin
      @MattCarvin 7 місяців тому

      Yep. It’s so silly to think otherwise. If anything, so-called “survivalists” are the most likely to get killed in the wilderness, simply because of how often they put themselves out there at risk.
      You know who’s way more experienced at efficiently surviving in the wilderness than Brad? The bear that casually killed him like it was nothing for nourishment before moving on.

    Im about half way through and you havent mentioned one national park 🤔

  • @myragroenewegen5426
    @myragroenewegen5426 7 місяців тому +2

    I think it's extremely odd to say any national park disappearances in Canada disturbingly "can't be explained". These are usually large, mostly wild, areas, even though they have infrastructure for human wilderness activities at key places. Most people do fine in wild areas, but If someone went to a national park and disappeared, the default explanation is that they got lost or hurt on their own, or splitting off briefly from their friend or group and died. Yes, everything we can we do to prevent that, but that is one of the defining traits of real wilderness. It is not first-of-all human designed and therefore even the most knowledgeable people can just get lost or stuck alone and die. The authenticity of wild areas depends on some degree of that danger.

    • @jay10242
      @jay10242 Місяць тому

      What about human factor? You meet someone on the trail and maybe some argument happens. You might be followed. Yeah. Have a good night sleep in your sleeping bag.

    • @myragroenewegen5426
      @myragroenewegen5426 Місяць тому

      @@jay10242 yup. That too, but I don't think it's as common. Wild places need to be places where people are not everywhere, more-or-less all the time.The means that people with bad intentions will always be able to take advantage of them to harm other people, or hide bodies to some extent. Still, I really don't think that poses a threat on the scale of getting lost and dieing in these places. To die from a malicious person, you need a great number of factors to come together against you in a natural area. To get lost and/or injured and die, you don't even need another person involved. The context is itself the problem and THAT threat is always present. Not to say that humans, or very occausionally animals aren't a threat, but people underestimate the threat of place.

    Thank you for the video of these new cases. It would be nice for you to give us the percentage of increase of people going missing in the parks compared to percentage of increase of people visiting the parks. You may find that the actual number of people that go missing are actually less than the in the past, when compared to the greatly increase in numbers of visitors to the parks each year. To give one percentage without the other is misleading. I think that over the past 10 years the number has decreased, particularly since so much publicity and public education in channels like yours has raised people's awareness to be more responsible for themselves when going into the wilds. This is why your work is so important.

    Poor Stephanie seems to have been attached and killed for her belongings and one hopes she wasn't tortured in any way before death. The repeated hanging up of the phone is convincing about this. If you don't travel with others in the wilderness, I guess that's a scenario you run the risk of. How very sad that if anyone had gone to where she was after the apparent phone hang-ups they might have saved her, but they couldn't have known enough to do that. Nobody can expect armed robbery.

    The bow hunter who “ loved animals so much” he killed them with home made arrows made a choice to get dropped off in a remote area of the wilderness. His goal to hunt and kill. He put himself out there and should have known better. The bear just beat him at his own game.

    BART had to have been mauled by a bear… there’s no other reasonable explanation… and being an expert woodsman/hunter doesn’t make one immune to bear attack… the grasses might have straightened back up after being pushed down in a struggle …. The fact that researchers discount a bear attack just because all the signs of one were present? Just because the bear didn’t bury him does t mean it wasn’t one … maybe it was A defensive attack and not a hunger attack… and if not a bear attack then wolves…

      @@no_peace Yes, I am very aware that it is indigenous. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest all of my life,(I am 70) and have only ever heard it pronounced by everyone the way I said it. So I guess all of the locals have been saying it wrong all of these years? 🤷🏻‍♀It is very common for non locals to mispronounce all of the indigenous names around here. And there are many.

    #4 Bart could possibly have been attacked by feral people. He was in bear territory, but no signs of bear attack. No sign of struggle. Most of his body missing because it was cannibalized by the ferals.
