In October, 2015, an historic event took place at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. Nine of the very rare Britten motorcycles were featured as part of the 11th Annual Barber Vintage Festival. The world famous Britten V1000 is the legacy of New Zealand inventor and engineer John Britten. His dream was to build the best racing motorcycle in the world, which he did in his own garage along with the help of dedicated friends and family. Today, there are only 10 of these very special motorcycles remaining and those are scattered across the globe. This documentary tells the story of how Britten owners - or caretakers as they would prefer to be called - brought their V1000's from around to the world to the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival to show the, to celebrate them, and if possible, to run them on the track.
I remember watching Andrew Stroud riding it when I was a kid. Incredible sounding machine.
Amazing bikes, amazing man John Britten and the people who were part in creating these Britten Motorcycles.
haha my grandad is john and im the little blond girl on the bike at 2.02
Fabulous bikes at an equally fabulous venue, paying tribute to John Britten’s absolute genius. Imagine what he could hav accomplished if he hadn’t been struck down in his prime! Vale JB.
I love these bikes have Homes all around the world, take care of these national treasures 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
I wish I could have been there to see them
Best sounding bike I ever heard😁
Wish I owned that place
He didn't want just the best available motorcycle, but something even better.
John reminds me of my dad the same sort of build ,it possible he is related.
What a treat for all concerned, especially those most closely involved in the bikes making !!
Great event, for one of the best bikes ever made. Would it be possible to post some clips of the bikes without music playing over the engine sound?
Thanks John 😉👍
i just want one. beast of a bike
Hi ..What has happen to this MOTOR CYCLE establement ..Has it ceased to produce any more Motor Cycles .. loved the Motor Cycles
Release date???
when is this finished?
Am i wrong or can i see the Panagale in these bikes?
Kind of. As the narrator said, It was 20 years ahead of it's time so you can probably see a lot of later bikes that learnt from the Britten. It certainly set the bar on a high setting when it was first shown to the world.
I can’t be the only one aggravated at collectors who openly almost flaunt that something hasn’t been run in a decade.
It doesn’t matter the value, it wasn’t meant to sit in your living room.
They are a work of art and there's enough of them still running and there would be no spare parts if anything broke.
Stop being poor, get one in your own living room.
