We park at Lordenshaw car park and start the initial climb; we journey across the ridge towards Dove Crag. We follow the path down a little and back up to Old Stell Crag which is a complicated jumble of boulders, continuing to the top and on to another rocky cairn which has a small crag below it. The path passes a stagnant pool and over to a cairn at the top of Simonside Crag. This section has great views over to Rothbury and this is where the video ends. Should you wish to do this walk on your own, for information, we scrambled down the edge of the hill and picked up a Forestry Commission’s track back to Lordenshaw car park. The full walk was 7 miles.
