I had to have the OOP editions of the Magnolia Parks series. I bought those first. They are so incredibly unique and gorgeous that I didn't want to chance damaging them, so I purchased the same editions you have to actually read from. The OOP versions have to be one of my all time favorite book covers. There is just something extra special about them. Worth every penny!
God of War was a 4 star read for me. While I enjoyed the story, minus the less than favorable trope, it was too disconnected from the vibe of the previous books. It was too much of a noticeable departure that had me wishing for a completely different storyline for the main characters. Walking away from the series with that disappointment left a slightly sour taste behind. The book was well written, and the character dialog was good. There was some cringy spicy time talk though, 😅. And I have to say the epilogue was a bit on the cheesy side. 3?! Good lordy was that excessive. As well, I was really hoping for at least one good group scene to close out the series - that didn't happen. That was probably my biggest issue with it overall.

I agree that God of War definitely didn’t fit into the atmosphere of the rest of the Legacy of Gods. I wished it would have at least had them in college or with the rest of the group making cameos like they did in the other books.
I really wish I would have bought the original magnolia parks covers when they first came out but I was so nervous to read them because all I heard was that it had a very toxic relationship and I didn’t know if I would like it. Now I wished I would have just gotten them because they are epic covers!
