    I love mine!! So soft and easy to wear no more earbuds hurting in the middle of the night or falling out!! Great sound also... The instructions say to take the speakers and panel out it actually says pop the panel out. Nope it’s sewn it. You have to work it out of the slit inside next to the panel to wash the whole band.

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, getting the panel and speakers out is a little bit fiddly. I've had the same issue with all of these headband style of headphones. It requires a degree of patience when you want to remove the components so you can wash the headband.

    When I go to sleep with my airpods on, I usually have to look for them in the morning. They always seem to drop behind my bed, so I have to drag my bed to find them. I glad I just got these, so, hopefully, I will be able to listen to rain noises and go to sleep comfortably.

      It took me a while to understand your comment Ryan! But I got it in the end...a bit slow today. Yes, these should avoid that problem, though bring up another problem of rolling your head over the speaker. Hopefully not as brutal as an alligator death roll though.

    Looks perfect for my needs! My only concern is the same concern I have for any headphones that rely on cables. I noticed at 9:13 you have one of the speakers out and it is connected by a thin cable. As any wired headphone user knows, in time the cables start to wear&tear and eventually one (or both) speakers stop working. Despite the fabric protecting the speaker I fear that eventually those thin cables will eventually get worn out.

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  2 роки тому +3

      Indeed, these type of cheap headbands are less robust because of the thin wires. It will all come down to how much you turn in the night and put stress on them with the positions you end up in, and the quality of the particular model you have. For the low price, it's a risk I think.

    Nice review. Would you say the sound quality is good enough for listening to ASMR videos in bed? My main reason I'm looking to buying sleeping headphones is because I hate how my normal earphones dig into my ear (side sleeper)

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  4 роки тому +5

      Thanks! I guess it depends what kind of quality you're used to. The speakers are pretty good for this price range, and since they don't have quite as much padding around them as some other fabric headphones, the volume tends to be better than some others. So if you're listening to particularly soft sounding ASMR, then you should hear it at least.

    I might buy a pair of these. These headphones caught my eye because sometimes I sleep with normal earbuds in my ear and after a couple of days my inner ear starts to get inflamed from the earbuds being lodged in my ear for hours every night while being pressed up against a pillow. Basically, normal earbuds tend to cause me some pain due to the inflammation and it’s already happened multiple times. Hope these will solve my problem!!

  • @Kavlor1
    @Kavlor1 2 роки тому +3

    These style of headphones work surprisingly well , I expected to not be able to sleep with them on but I did. I think though if I found some with true noise cancelling they'd be perfect as I have a couple of noise cancelling headphones but they're no good for sleeping with but even with no music playing the noise coming from the neibours is way quieter. Have to use white noise at the moment which works to a degree but in combo (but lower volume) with noise cancelli ng even if they were twice or more the price would be worth it.

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  2 роки тому +1

      They do work well if you need to lie on your side. Sadly, none of the big companies have made flat noise cancelling headphones, or tiny ones, that you can use on your side all night. I'll be publishing a video comparing headphones for sleep later this year, so keep an eye out for that!

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  2 роки тому +1

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  Рік тому

      This is a good question, and one I'm not qualified to answer to be completely honest. It wouldn't be right for me to state a level of radiation risk because I don't have a way to measure it, and I'm not a scientist who is trained and able to determine such things. My personal understanding from looking online is that the risks associated with Bluetooth devices is an area of ongoing debate and research. So I think you'll find better answers to your question from checking what researchers and sources such as the World Health Organisation have to say about it.

      I think if you have a soft pillow, and your ears aren't too sensitive, you should be fine for a while. But if you have a harder pillow, sensitive ears and lie on one side for hours on end, then I can imagine it being a bit of an issue. You could always make some extra padding though if you're up for some DIY, which is something that crossed my mind the other day.

    I would love to try these but am worried that over exposure to Bluetooth radiation over a nights sleep maybe an issue? Apparently many doctors and scientists are unsure of the long term risks of brain tumours ect.

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  3 роки тому +1

      I can't comment on that as I'm not a doctor or a scientist. I would say go with your gut feeling and/or your own reading about the topic. Personally, if I was worried something I was using in bed might make me ill, that would probably stress me out, which would affect my sleep. So on that point, if you're unsure about them, don't use them.

    enjoying. hahah. I bought one called musicozy, looks the same but maybe it has some more fabric and a bit softer. Bought on amazon. Generally pretty good, but easy to notice the feeling of a band across your head. Have to get used to it. I bought them to play white noise to mask a broken water pump in the room next door which doesn't stop through the night.

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Paul. I believe there are several copies sold online, some exact but with different branding, some slightly different in design. Someone, somewhere, is churning them out and marketing them to different Amazon third party sellers to then market to the public. I even found a video on UA-cam someone had done to market the same product with a different brand name, using large sections of my video in their marketing material and my photo on their website homepage.
      Needless to say, I got it removed for copyright infringement. I've also had several people emailing me to ask if they can use parts of my video for their 'new product'.
      So in my view, they are basically all the same. My best guess is that someone has a pyramid scheme style business plan in full swing.
      Buyer beware in this case, sadly.

    I'm 6'4 so my head is a bit bigger than most people's so the speakers are forward to my ears.

      Hi, I am actually working on a video review of the Sleepphones, which I'l be publishing within a week hopefully. I personally prefer the Sleepphones for comfort, sound quality and overall aesthetic design. The Lavince are much cheaper and actually louder too. But as a side sleeper, the Sleepphones definitely win for me as the speakers are encased in a separate padded section, which is then put inside the headband. And where image is concerned, they are much better looking. Although despite my criticism of the buttons on the Lavince, it does make it easier to find the buttons on the headband than the Sleepphones.

      There is no active noise cancelling. The padding is quite thin too, so you won't get much sound blocking there either. So basically, the type of music and volume you play it at will dictate how much noise you manage to shut out just by replacing it with your own sound choice.

    • @nosleeplessnights1
      @nosleeplessnights1  4 роки тому +2

      They have no active noise-cancellation. So the only help they provide is the small amount of padding over your ears, which can help muffle some sound. And then the type of music/audio you listen to and the volume. But compared to high-end noise-cancelling headphones, they aren't nearly as good. But then again, a loud barking dog will still break through most headphones!

    Does anyone have a link to a video showing someone removing and reinstalling the components? I live in Pohnpei, Micronesia just north of the equator with no air con in my room, making sweat in the head band quite an issue. They became pretty foul smelling pretty quickly. The pockets looked to me as if they were sewn almost entirely shut. I'd just like re-assurance that I won't be destroying these by taking out the components and that I will be able to get them back in. Otherwise, I LOVE these headphones which I've had for about 4 months now. I just had to stop using them because they REALLY need to be cleaned! ;)

      Oh, I see a short little blip on this close to the end of the video. Sorry, I was watching while commenting. That was specifically what I was looking for. I agree regarding the function of the buttons. I would have preferred a reverse function of the buttons, meaning, I would have preferred that changing tracks would have required the longer push of the button but that small volume changes could be made with short pushes of the button. Of course, one could set the volume on the head set at max and make volume changes on your phone phone but when sleeping, I don't want to have to reach for my phone to make volume changes without accidentally changing the track (something that's important if you're using the online brain.fm sleep program. Sometimes accidentally changing the track on that application when you meant to decrease the volume means that a track with an entirely different goal from the program for an 8 hour sleep I have set it for. Probably doesn't make any sense to people who haven't used that program. Sorry about that.
