My grandmother got tested and discovered she had breast cancer because of Betty Ford. If not for her it would have gone undetected and I may never have met her. So thank you Betty for giving me so many great years with my gran!
I love Betty Ford. Her influence and legacy will last for generations...when it comes to drug dependency help and the prevention and treatment of breast and other reproductive cancers.
Mrs. Carter has not sought the spotlight, but has worked for decades on mental health issues, on behalf of the Equal Rights Amendment and Habitat For Humanity. She has been quite a force for good.
Well, probably considering who her family was. The Roosevelts are the more refined Kennedys. Not as beautiful or flashy, but more politically astute in their day and likely less criminal.
As a fellow Texan, Lady Bird Johnson is my favorite of all the First Ladies. She's just a sweet, kind and gentle person, and I wish I could've met her while she was still alive!

Plus, she had a full 30 years on the world stage.
Let's be real, nobody comes near Eleanor Roosevelt. There is a reason she is named the first lady of the world, she completely changed the planet and was a humanitarian for all people, of all races and backgrounds. There has yet to be a first lady who's accomplishments come close.

Good points. And Nancy is only on here because of “Just say no!” When we all now know she and Ronald were horrible people when it came to addressing the AIDS crisis and allowed Iran Contra to happen. I have no doubt she knew Cheney and others were funding terrorism and smuggling drugs.
She was the most influential during her day but Roosevelt for sure espoused a far greater range of causes than did Adams. To be fair, Roosevelt lived in more modern times so had an easier reach in capturing the public's attention.
Lucy Webb Hayes was a highly underrated First Lady! She was the first college graduate to become First Lady, and she served as a nurse during the Civil War. I think she was very smart, pretty, helpful, and had an exceptionally active role in public life. It’s a shame she’s so obscure now… It kind of makes sense, though! A very well structured list. I definitely enjoy watching these Top 10 videos. Number 11: Barbara Bush. She held her composure even when a four-fingered yellow-skinned family walked in on her taking a bath.
Being half of the Carter Presidency meant more after than during even, which is a compliment in my book. Her and Jimmy have done so much for people in the US and around the world.
A lot of people are not financially stable this period and it's not easy, I always advise people, don't just waste your stimulus checks or salary, invest it in something that will yield more, even if it is a part of it. We can't keep relying on a paycheck that is already half-spent before we even receive it, there are investment opportunities that have helped a lot of people especially in the financial market. Having different streams of income is essential in this pandemic, especially now most of us have to earn and work from home. And especially since her husband was one of the writers of the Declaration of Independence and considered the most important Founding Father maybe as he also co-framed the US Constitution.
Interesting list, though it seems unduly weighted toward recent first ladies, perhaps because memories are fresher and videos are available. In some cases, the compilers also seemed to equate media buzz with influence. A few potential additions: MARTHA WASHINGTON: She was the first to face the many challenges and choices that presidential spouses still weather, and found a balance that was dignified but not royal. She was also the first of many to chafe at the frustrations of the role, writing that she felt more like a state prisoner than anything else. SARAH POLK: Mrs. Polk was the president's closest adviser and work partner, essentially serving as his chief of staff. She helped the president fulfill all his major campaign promises, a rare record for any administration. ELLEN WILSON: Intellectual equal of the brainy president, she was an essential partner throughout his career. During her brief stint as first lady, she championed improved housing conditions for the D.C.'s poor, even lobbying for legislation. She also had a vocational identity of her own--as a painter--separate from her husband's. I'd also have beefed up the sections on Dolley Madison and Edith Wilson.
Maybe there could be some reference to famous queens as 'power behind throne'. Anyway it is good list and I liked hints in it that first lady family could be part of her influence.
What! Michelle Obama is number 10 ! Um she should be number 1 watch mojo. Y'all slipin Y'all slipin she did more than any of these other women did and she is very beautiful
So glad that Mary Lincoln is no longer at the bottom. If you can imagine what being First Lady during the Civil War must have been like, not to mention all she went through.
Triforce Gaming64 oh yeah so what if she wrote a book, Adolf Hitler was opinionated and wrote a book so does that make him good? Absolutely not she only got her fame just because her husband was president
Michelle Obama deserves to be on this list just as much as the other former first ladies. She has made great strides and contributes a lot. She is also a positive inspiration to lots of young women of color! I am also sure she will continue her works when President Obama's term is up.
I believe that Eleanor Roosevelt is and will still be the most profound and influential First Lady in our history. The second most influential First Lady in my opinion was Edith Bolling Galt Wilson; she was the first honorary president of the Girl Scouts, first First Lady to become involved in international diplomacy, and single handedly ran the Executive branch of the government. Although many people label the Wilsons as racist, without them, we would have never made it through World War I.
The only mark against them besides racism is the 1918 Flu Pandemic of course and maybe rightfully so. They handled it like Trump handled COVID and millions died because of it.
Lucy Hayes was an interesting footnote. She banned alcoholic drinks in social gatherings at the White House, giving rise to the nickname, "Lemonade Lucy". They said at the time that "water flowed like wine"
Mark Braley Lincoln was a nut case that was busy spending huge amount of government money while union soldiers didnt even have shoes. What an “awesome” lady
BOTH JACQUELINE KENNEDY AND ELEANOR ROOSEVELT SHOULD BE ON TOP OF THE LIST OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL FIRST LADIES!!!!!!!!! NOT, JUST ELEANOR ROOSEVELT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
memes Then you obviously don’t know who Eleanor Roosevelt was. Jackie is nothing in comparison. People just say that because they like the Kennedys even though he wasn’t even that good of a president
My fav Lane,Lincoln,Hayes,Arthur, Cleveland,Taft,Wilson, Coolidge, Roosevelt, Eisenhower,Kennedy,Johnson,Nixon,Ford,Carter,Reagan,Clinton,Bush all first ladies
Anyone who does not think Eleanor Roosevelt should be #1 should study their history more. Yea I know it's how they end their top series but come on. Elenor Roosevelt is probably just as famous as her husband maybe even more.
She is the only First Lady people think of as a co-President other than Hillary, maybe Abigail Adam’s, and a couple others. Jackie was not co-President. Neither was Nancy, Michelle even, or Betty Ford.
Eleanor Roosevelt was the greatest First Lady ever!

Nice video, Cryptocurrency still remains one of the best online investment mostly when it comes to Bitcoin. being the largest asset so far, although bitcoin trading and making good profits from trading bitcoin seems to be a bit difficult for most people out there because they make the wrong approach and strategy when it comes to trading. As a trader, so for i have been successful trading bitcoin because i was smart enough to do some research on making good profits daily and got to find out about a working strategy and signals provided by a pro trader known as Richard Bruce. During my first month i was able to grow my portfolio from 2.40BTC to a total of 4.7BTC with Mr. Richard daily signals which you will agree that is a very good profits, so i would say don't rush and sell off, grow the little you hold with a very profitable signals.
A few potential additions:
MARTHA WASHINGTON: She was the first to face the many challenges and choices that presidential spouses still weather, and found a balance that was dignified but not royal.
WE STAN BETTY FORD
Maybe there could be some reference to famous queens as 'power behind throne'.
Anyway it is good list and I liked hints in it that first lady family could be part of her influence.
Plus her charitable and philanthropy alone
kennedy first!
Omg shut up
Kennedy wasn't that influential. Yes, she spoke some languages and conducted the White House tour but she mostly dressed well and looked pretty.
What! Michelle Obama is number 10 ! Um she should be number 1 watch mojo. Y'all slipin Y'all slipin she did more than any of these other women did and she is very beautiful
Ramsfan4life Donovan what did she do (other than ruin school lunch) that was greater than Roosevelt, Wilson and Ford?
Guess you are entitled to your opinion...
So glad that Mary Lincoln is no longer at the bottom. If you can imagine what being First Lady during the Civil War must have been like, not to mention all she went through.
Yes Mary Lincoln was a very tragic figure the poor woman suffered so much and sadly she doesn't get that much love.
Jacqueline Kennedy was the greatest First Lady ever
Eleanor Roosevelt
For you... But in fact of everything, Eleanor Roosevelt is the greatest.
I totally agree for the first one, Eleanor Roosevelt
Michelle Obama is the best.
Jose Mendoza how? What did she do?
@@fatassdogs8617 She was a strong opinionated woman who even wrote a book! The question is what didn't she do?
She ruined our school lunches
Triforce Gaming64 oh yeah so what if she wrote a book, Adolf Hitler was opinionated and wrote a book so does that make him good? Absolutely not she only got her fame just because her husband was president
William Henry Harrison 9th president you mean Michael Obama?
Where is Pat Nixon's name??
Michelle Obama deserves to be on this list just as much as the other former first ladies. She has made great strides and contributes a lot. She is also a positive inspiration to lots of young women of color! I am also sure she will continue her works when President Obama's term is up.
why because shes the first black first lady the only reason Obama got into office is because hes black
Knightikhan
Or maybe Obama was just the best candidate for the presidency?
He didn't focus much on race.
SGaLaXy6. SHE DOES. MICHELLE OBAMA DID SO MANY THINGS
But she is in the list
Obama got into office because 8 years of Republican Rule had driven the Economy into the ditch.
Oh my gaw, dolley payn madison is my fave,i get emotional when i remember her.she is the best,R.I.P Dolley.😢❤
Jackie Kennedy and Laura bush
Mrs. Laura Bush was a good person, had the best character! I could trust her. Also, she was the most beautiful.
WTF about Pat Nixon?
i feel in time Michelle's position on this list will continue to rise
Or, wind up in jail where she belongs.
A Plato What a tyrant republican
I agree with #1. SAINT ELEANOR. 🙏
What about Martha Dandridge Custis Washington (1789-97) and/or Mary Ann Todd Lincoln (1861-65)?
Mark Braley Lincoln was a nut case that was busy spending huge amount of government money while union soldiers didnt even have shoes. What an “awesome” lady
Michelle Obama should be higher. She's number 1 in my book.
Higher than Eleanor Roosevelt? Not a chance. I think she should be #3 and Ford #2
BOTH JACQUELINE KENNEDY AND ELEANOR ROOSEVELT SHOULD BE ON TOP OF THE LIST OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL FIRST LADIES!!!!!!!!! NOT, JUST ELEANOR ROOSEVELT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The classic one Laura Bush
Jackie should be #1!
Wth no
@@mike_404 she should be actually
memes Then you obviously don’t know who Eleanor Roosevelt was. Jackie is nothing in comparison. People just say that because they like the Kennedys even though he wasn’t even that good of a president
yessssss
Michelle Obama should have been number one
She belongs in jail with her tre asonist husband
and
@@judibowman1147 ... U proved urself wrong
Big gang firewood luv ok luv lololol
My favorite is Mary Todd Lincoln
"Just say no".really does help. Thanks Nancy.
My fav Lane,Lincoln,Hayes,Arthur, Cleveland,Taft,Wilson, Coolidge, Roosevelt, Eisenhower,Kennedy,Johnson,Nixon,Ford,Carter,Reagan,Clinton,Bush all first ladies
Margaret Thatcher deserves an honourable mention
LOL
Maybe Angela Merkel also
LMAO 🤣
@@Vanessa-bi4rg Thatcher was very close to Reagan
@@fernandooliveira3432 ikr 🤣✌️
that becomes subjective..since it only works in regard to the person but not the title
They all had a part to play in the times in which their husbands served and after.
Betty Ford probably should have been higher, either #2 or #1.
Haha Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter are just chilling right now
Carter wasn’t the best president but one of the nicest people to be president
Anyone who does not think Eleanor Roosevelt should be #1 should study their history more. Yea I know it's how they end their top series but come on. Elenor Roosevelt is probably just as famous as her husband maybe even more.
She is the only First Lady people think of as a co-President other than Hillary, maybe Abigail Adam’s, and a couple others. Jackie was not co-President. Neither was Nancy, Michelle even, or Betty Ford.
