    *(Long Post Ahead):*
Let us all take a moment to congratulate Gobou on his subsequent major tournament victory using Asuka. Although there are many talented Asuka users that exist in their own regions, Gobou has proved once again that he is the unparalleled Asuka specialist by a large margin. As he is the only Asuka player to have won 2 major tournaments now since his release over 1 year ago.
Looking back on the past, once Gobou's Asuka had become a notable threat, this comment section had become that of a literal chaotic war zone - there were posters airing their grievances, those who launched a verbal onslaught on those who dared to defend or were impartial towards Asuka, and those who became incredibly disagreeable - only to post emotionally-charged responses while disregarding opinions indifferent or the opposite of their own. After Asuka was nerfed in season 3, it has calmed down quite a bit here, but you still see responses similar to those in the past during streams, or from people new to the game - much like with Chaos - except that Chaos has been top #1 for 2 years, while Asuka was only top 3-5 for around 6 months; so I believe it is much more warranted with Chaos.
However, after AWT and EVOJ, Gobou spoke very little about Asuka and had nothing but constant praise for A.B.A while also making statements regarding how fun she is to play; at this point, the writing was on the wall - and it seems that Gobou's performance with Asuka at those two events caused him to lose faith in the character - and possibly shame as well. With that being said, Gobou said very recently during one of his streams, *"I was going to quit Asuka, but I just didn't"* - despite the fact that Gobou remains incredibly humble, he has admitted that he is the strongest Asuka user in the world a few times - and after they made that statement about quitting Asuka, he mentioned that Asuka is still fun to play (after a stream viewer asked if Asuka is no longer fun to play) - so, for him to contemplate dropping Asuka for seemingly no reason, there must been some sort of emotional damage associated with those tournament performances that I have yet to comprehend...
Optimistically, Gobou's Super Tournament victory has given him the confidence needed to continue playing this little guy (Asuka) for a bit longer. As an Asuka user, it's nigh impossible not to appreciate and admire Gobou's Asuka - as he has laid down the foundation for us all, and continues to innovate with the character to this day. I hope that Gobou predures to show the world why Asuka is referred to as "The Devil" and proceeds to dominate the battlefield with the cutest war criminal in GG history.

That was intentional on Gobou's end; notice how he immediately stopped searching for spells during Harmonic Boost/Full Order after he found the Shooting Time Strech staff. Many times, Gobou will change to Case 1 while the opponent is in blockstun from a barrage of spells from Case 3, just to obtain the guard break feature it provides, then quickly switch to Case 3 to continue the onslaught, as we see in this video.

At 2:58 the Baiken somehow wins this round. Also at 3:37 Asuka is literally invisible because 5 different cubes are on the screen at the same time when he teleports. A perfect example of Asuka gameplay.

As an I-no player I find the asuka MU really fun because: one: is a very fair MU. two: chemical love is so satisfying when you hit asuka and pierce the cubes and three: it’s fun squeezing your way to asuka and then kill him in one combo.

      @waitingforzato-1i-noinguil301 4 місяці тому +1

With all due respect and also as an I-No player, Asuka vs. I-No is between a 7:3 - 8:2 advantage for I-No according to Gobou - and although I hate to bring personal experiences into this, it definitely feels that way when you know the Asuka match-up as well as I do. I end up almost feeling bad for the Asuka players in Celestial, knowing they have very few options once I get my offense started...

Im currently just a spectator of the game snd watch some tournaments, but i see a lot people say Gobou is the best asuka, but how is this measured? By his online ranking, tourament rankings and winnings?
I think, i have seen a few tournaments where both him and zhando? Enter both Goubu tends to not make it as far or is this a wrong assignment?

    • @waitingforzato-1i-noinguil301

My posts tend to be very long, so I will give you the short version:
To be completely honest, and no disrespect to Asuka players in other regions, but Asia has a monopoly on this character in terms of player strength. Daru_I-No said that the strongest Asuka players are in this order: Japan, Korea, Philippines, NA/EU. Now, Gobou is known as the best Asuka player not just in Asia, but in the world - he built the foundation for every Asuka player you see to this day in any tournament (except for 1 player in Asia named コメコメ). Moreover, it will be near impossible to explain what makes Gobou the best Asuka player overall since you don't play the game, but in short, Gobou thinks about 5 steps ahead of his opponent, he has the best combo conversions, the best execution, situational awareness, and strategy for Asuka by far, compared to other Asuka users. The fact that he is the only player to win 2 major tournaments with Asuka proves my point.
Zando is an amazing player, but they do not know the character as well as the top 6 best Asuka players in the world (in my opinion) listed below: *Gobou, Gesui, コメコメ, MaoKing, Chocoservant, and Psychrosis.* The rationale behind why these Asuka players are listed above Zando, is because all of them can play a better "one-player game," or as Gobou refers to it, Solitaire - and they tend to rotate their options more and have deeper knowledge of the character, compared to Zando. Also, the reason why Zando is usually mentioned much more than these other players, because he is very a well-known competitor and travels to many tournaments - while these Asuka players tend to only enter tournaments in Asia that may not always be streamed; therefore, nobody really knows of them or their skill level...
My apologies, my post still ended up being quite long, anyway...

@waitingforzato-1i-noinguil301 well, I appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me, though I have had some previous GG experience, I'm not up to date with information though, I have watched a lot of recent Asuka, and. Clearly see the difference in how dominant he is, I'm still not versed in all the other top asuka players but do find it so amazing watch a player turn a match in a 1 player game.

@@NoolaGaming-noolr bridget is weaker than most of the cast, people just dislike labbing or adapting their gameplans. low-profile attacks like Ky's Stun Dipper, Sol's ground slide thingy and Sin's bootleg Stun Dipper are all incredibly strong towards her. But thinking and actually trying to learn the character is not as simple as holding down back and then complaining on the internet

I find them simultaneously boring and fascinating. For gobou, his APM is just insane. It’s hard not to be impressed. But I really hate how asuka matches tend to be so one sided in that one player is blocking for 80% of the match. It’s genuinely baffling.

It's hard to appreciate Gobou's Asuka gameplay if you do not play the character - as there is much more going on than what meets the eye. However, if you're not a fan of Gobou's "Solitaire," but you would still like to watch some Asuka gameplay, I would recommend that you look into a player named コメコメ - as he uses Case 2, plays a very strong neutral and defensive game, and does not engage in the one-sided techniques as seen by Gobou. The other option is, you may simply not watch the video...

A reminder to Strive players that GG Strive has not been a competitive game for 3 years. The whole meta in this game is cheap brainrot gorillas or broken characters with autopilot mode for 3 seasons in a row. Balance simply doesn't exist. Gorilla STRIVE- shame of gg series. Absolutely trash.
The situation with the meta and top level has not changed for 3 years, but the blind Strive puppies are all yaping about how great Strive is balanced. nonsense
I just can’t believe that after the virtuoso and gigantic skillkap acp and xrd they released this garbage (:
One cannot but rejoice at the attitude of the community on youtube, x or subreddit, where they mock the Millia players who were destroyed in the public for two punches. Indeed, it is decent behavior for the Strive Community to mock those who are trying to learn a character who is not in the meta. Nothing new.
This game hit rock bottom for 3 seasons in a row. I hope the 4th and final season of this zoo will make this game even more absurd than ever.
People remember Strive as the most ridiculous game in the series (:

I think you're just bad because only 2 of the bottom teirs actually need help and 1 maybe 2 of the top teirs are problematic, everyone else generally around the same level. Chill TF out, stop being salty, learn the matchups, and stop whining about it on the internet.
