    When I started making Biodiesel about 15 years ago, no one was doing it in their garage. Restaurants paid hundreds a month to take oil away and I offered to take it for free. After it became super popular then they started charging US for the oil. At that point I got out. Batteries seem to be going this route now with popularity.

    I think the shipping is not calculating right. I was trying to just buy some wiring (11 samsung wires) and contactor. shipping came to 97.00 from California to Tennessee...Also I think the description is off a little. The description for the Samsung connectors says "will give you access to every one of the 16 cell terminals" If they are for the 5s modules then I think it would be 15 cell terminals.

    I have watched your vids for over a year now and am very interested in the "powerwall" DIY 18650 Lithium battery system. But I wonder, if you have invested so much time finding out where to get the batteries and how to build such a beast, why isn't there someone out there that does the follow through for you and build the entire powerwall for resale? From what I gather, Tesla is the only one who manufactures these on a mass scale? Do you know anyone that sells these battery walls for the consumer besides Tesla? Thanks!

    Hi I just noticed that the LG batteries (the hoverboard ones) on your website say 2C. On the website on eBay it says the cells are good for 10A continuous per cell which means in 10s2p configuration each pack should be good for 20A continuous. I plan on stringing them into 20s10p configuration for about 72v 20ah. Is your website saying 2C with the BMS? Meaning if I take off the BMS and make my own pack, I could run my system controller that does 150A (sabvoton, on my channel if you want to check it out) with these batteries safely? Thanks for your time, started with electric builds about 9 years ago, took a break during medical school and boy so much has changed!

    So I would like a power wall for the house but I also have an old motorhome that's outside my house if I'm not out in it,
    I'm thinking make my motorhome electric drive but also use it as my house power wall for what I'm at home so getting two uses saving me fuel cost when out on the road and reducing my electricity consumption when at home?
    Does anyone have views on this idea as to if and how it would work and what setup/batteries to use, I liked the look of the Johnson battery pack as I may be able to use the cooling of the battery to heat the motorhome.
    I'm also in the uk so maybe someone knows a uk supplier to save on shipping costs😀

    Hi, I have around 5500 cells at 2200ah and I was planning to build a big powerwall but that will be too much because we consume only 120-150 kw per month in my house. So I bought REVAi electric car ( G-Wiz outside india), it comes with 48V 200ah lead acid battery. I want to convert it to lithium ion using the cells that I have. I'm struck at the initial stage itself... don't know how to proceed.
    The car got 400 amp controller and require at least 300 amp for it's peak performance. But I'm not finding the 300 or 400 amp discharge bms for my battery pack. My plan is to build 2200mah*3.7V*2500 cells = 20kW pack which will give about 180-200km range per charge. 5kW 4 module will work ? If yes.. then how can I achieve 300 amp discharge from each module ? If I make 4 5kW pack with 100a discharge and connect in parallel to get 400a discharge, will it work ??
    So how should I proceed ?? I need your suggestion and help! :)

    i have now a lot of these 60850 accus, i have a question : if i have a bunch of them, say 10 accus connected in paralel, fully charged, and i add another one to the pack completly discharged, will it happen something ? Like it will get worm ? What if the 10 paralel are completly dischaged and the 1 i add is fully charged ? What if i connect 2 packs of 10 in paralel , one pack discharged at 3 volts and 1 pack fully charged at 4.2 volts ? Im only interested in the first minutes of these posibilities , as after that they kind of equalize voltages, i guess.

    Hi, i saw a lot of your video about battery pack for electric car, but i have a question: instead of using a lot of 18650 cells why people don't use Lipo batteries? i work with a lot of 18650 and lipo and if you do everything right they are equally safe (if lipo explodes is like a mini flame thrower, 18650 like firecracker) but lipo are more light and small.
    This question maybe will be funny for you, but i really don't now, here in Italy good 18650 cost the same of a Lipo with the same characteristic :)

    • @jehugarcia
      @jehugarcia  7 років тому

      +Stefano Giannini Yeah LiPo cells are more expensive here in the USA, 18650 cells are everywhere so that's why we use them

    • @stefanogiannini4508
      @stefanogiannini4508 7 років тому

      ah ok, as i thought, i've found about 50 18650 by recycling old laptop's batteries but only 15-20 of them are sadly really usable (controlled by i-max).

    • @letsgocamping88
      @letsgocamping88 7 років тому +1

      Stefano Giannini just from RC experience, Lipo are less energy dense than 18650. However 18650 can't deliver the same amps that a lipo can.

      agnius Mikutavicius thanks for the link. As i understand it you buy the plastic part of the case separately from the metal parts (?). The plastic case is priced well, while the metal posts and interconnects are very, very expensive. Am I missing something?

    • @agniuszoro
      @agniuszoro 7 років тому +1

      Bubba , sorry to disappoint. Very expensive compared to what if i may ask? Lets say we compare power, vruzend does 3.5A per cell, mine tested at 35A so 10 times more power, multiply that number on Vruzend price and its not that expensive. If you would take time and calculate your working hours building a pack with a spotwelder plus all the materials, again, it will turn out quiet cheap. If you would buy a ready made pack from luna or em3ev or other reputable supplier you would see that the price will work out the same, the only difference is that NESE is rebuildable meny times with power greater than those packs can provide. I dont want to get into price fight but i am no corporate who can throw in couple hundred K in RND and if something does not turn out well, be fine with that. I invested a ton of my time and cash and would like to be paid for that. For the price to come down i need to start mooving it. When i have some money, i could invest in plastic molding, copper stamping etc, prices there are thousands. Think Tesla model, they did not produce model 3 tight from the star. Its a terible example, but shows the picture:) Cheers

    • @DavidTuckerII
      @DavidTuckerII 7 років тому

      Should be on your inverter spec sheet, or maybe on a label on the inverter. The magnum 4448 is a 48v inverter, but lists in the spec sheet 66 vdc that it can run up to. I doubt a 12v inverter could take 18v, but it would depend on the specific inverter.

    Have a question if I can get anyone's help.. I got my hands on some lipo cells, 4 of them. Came out of battery bank.. on each they have printed 5500mah 20.35 wh 14.8v . Which I know is 4x3.7v ..each one is sitting around 3.3? V each. I have tried to charge them but none of them are charging at all. Just sits there bouncing up to 3.4? 3.5? But that's it... what's up? Are they garbage? Am I charging wrong? Have it set at 0.7 amps lipo 3.7v . Charger is working but no voltage is going up. They are the square cells about 4.8" x 4" x 1/4" . Any thoughts would be helpful.

    Hey please make a video to power a computer (200watts) 1 minute, like a emergency ups with 18650, how many batteries what component are need it?

    • @fidelcatsro6948
      @fidelcatsro6948 7 років тому +1

      i think you need only 4 pcs of good 18650 batteries to run a basic 200watt 12vdc to 240vac inverter for few minutes, (in fact a single 12volt 7ah lead acid motorcycle battery can do the job for you)

      btw why not there are some ups build with that light and tiny 18650 batteries instead the big super heavy anoy lead acid batteries??, I don't get it

    I'm still new to this but I want to get info together to convert my car to electric. (see my Only video in the car I made)
    Each battery is 12v and you are saying each battery is 1kw...so 12v...so each battery is 83amp hours?

    I've subscribed to channel... Am not going to pay for enlightment... Just figured I can gain some knowledge from u, I think u said less than 200 a Kilowatt-hour... It's the going frugal price? As far as Nissan leaf on your web site, they're 2 parrellel and 2 in series.. Thinking of fast charging capable ones, and portability... I am considering an urban backpacking lifestyle... Thus, if I just configure my phone needs, a kilowatt a month, with including charges... Laptop, I have no idea in backpacking lifestyle... But, I believe I Gan easily survive winter backing with a kilowatt of portable power? Seen assembled 300 watt hour systems priced at $200... I'm thinking 8 hour sleep if I had a Kilowatt-hour system, I could be warmer consuming 125 watt hour for nights full rest... I haven't fully developed a winter backpacking idea yet... I prefer hammocking... Lol... Tenting it, would seem like government issue... Wind and it's chilling effect underneath me... Idk
