RIP Criss. Truly a guitar legend tragically gone way before his time. I still love and listen to Edge of Thorns all the time. 1993 was such a great year for music, but we lost two of my personal heroes: Criss Oliva and Brandon Lee. Rest in Peace.
Criss was an absolute wizard on the guitar! Gone but not forgotten...RIP Criss
Criss Oliva was the Randy Rhodes of his own genre.

I was a bit lost in the beginning, the whole thing in the middle ROCKED, and the keyboard part at the end I thought sounded a little bit like X Japan's Rose of Pain.....
The Title track The Dungeons Are Calling are also a great song

I first got into Savatage on the Power of the Night album. Which happens to have the greatest metal riff ever written (in my opinion) on the song Power of the Night. After that I have to go straight to the record store to find out if they had any other albums. I started falling out with the band around the Streets album. To me they had change musical styles way to much for me. This demo ranks as one of the best. All the songs just rock.
So is Savatage a Christian band? Because I keep hearing Christian themes and allegories in their lyrics. Especially on ‘Hall of the Mountain King’ and ‘Streets’ albums. Just wondering. I like to know whose philosophies I’m taking in.
Not sure if they are Christian band BUT I agree especially Street that has many Christian over tones in it.
