Thanks for the reaction ! You must check their best song : Vinushka Here is the live which will blow your mind ^^ : ua-cam.com/video/8W0h2yht6IA/v-deo.html
Dir en grey are a band not even similar to any other you will come across [as a whole. You can hear a lot of influence from other bands and artists in individual songs but they always create something new and unexpectant with those influences and they are really diverse, too] They have released their 11th LP Phalaris last year which is absolutely phenomenal. They are still playing in the original line-up [4 of the 5 band members actually played in another band together before Dir en grey] and have been frequently touring overseas since 2005. They have inspired a lot of younger VK bands so it makes sense that you are reminded of Jiluka since yo heard that band first. This band will never seize to surprise you - and keeps you thinking if you are interested in lyrics and stuff. I would love to see you do more reactions to them! I love the studio recording of Uroko because of the voice layering which sounds absolutely amazing but I adore the live version even more and they are a band best experienced live in any case so I can only recommend Kayaちゃんねる's channel for any further reactions. Her translation videos are fantastic. Ad Sa already suggested Vinushka which became a bit of a 'must listen' for first time reactors because it's a song that represents a lot of the different aspects and styles the band is known and most loved for. The link they provided leads to the Androgynous [name of the concert] version which is the best one out there in my [and many people's] opinion but it doesn't have subtitles. I think it's very difficult to read along to this song for the first time around but everyone is different there and it might also just be interesting to catch a view parts of the lyrics from the courner of your eye. In any case, here is a link to the same video with an English translation by Kaya ua-cam.com/video/BVhAVHcu-r0/v-deo.html Thank you for this reaction and have a wonderful time discovering this band now that you are aware of their existence :)
Dir en Grey's videos tend to be crazy in terms of visuals but the band itself pops out in their live performances ;) just so that you remember for future reaction
This song is reminiscent of the sound of 90's Visual Kei which isn't a surprise since they were a Visual Kei band in the beginning, although they have never fully abandoned Visual Kei.
If you want video quality, you need a better lighting and get your recording equipment closer. Dir en grey, are an unique band, you will not see the same thing over and over. Their selections are very unique, and come from crazy, to melancholy and very soft. Thanks for the reaction! By the way, I recommend their selection: Ware Yame Tote
Nice!
