I have to be honest. I'm not the biggest Ne-Yo fan. I like some of his records that I've heard on radio. He has a decent voice. I actually like his personality more than his music. Frankly, take it or leave it. If I hear him, great. If I don't, great. No biggie. Nah, you can definitely sing, Bobby Marcel, but eh. I don't know yo' music all like that. All you needed was that Usher Raymond promotion and you would've been outta here. R&B is the only music that was forced to "evolve." Opera is opera. Heavy metal is heavy metal. They tried tweaking country, but you see that didn't go over too well. Country is country. R&B was hip-hop, R&B was EDM, R&B was bubblegum pop, etcetera. Near the end of the aughts, I simply gave up. Look, the practical reality is that we ain't gon hear the _Never Keeping Secrets', Breathe Again's, Cry For You's, They Don't Know's_ and the _Sweet Lady's_ on radio or on social media the way we used to. The practical reality is that we ain't gon turn on social media and see brothas sangin' they ass off like Mr. K-Ci Hailey no more. Those days are over. We're stuck w/ two dynamics. The auto-tune dynamic and the riff & run dynamic. Nobody's keeping me up at night. I'm not hearing good songs no more. I've basically chalked it up to me being grown and I've already had my turn.
