The video shows highlights of Cherry Mulenga Mataa's Kitchen Party.
A Traditional Zambian Kitchen Party is an event organized by the bride, the bride's mother, and close female family members and friends. The women come together and bring gifts for the bride to be, while the groom gets a chance to unveil the bride. The groom and his friends have to ‘sowela’ which means drop money before the matron allows for the bride to be unveiled (slowly). The couple exchanges gifts and the day is packed with fun, laughter dancing and various activities designed to enlighten the bride before her marriage.
