Not sure why we need a sizeable majority, sure it would be nice, but a majority is a majority, that's all that's needed. It's the Senate where we need to increase the numbers to at least 60, which won't happen unless Dems can carry at least 5 of the 10 swing states.

That's not going to happen. The map favors the GOP this cycle. The Dems have to win every seat that is even a little competitive to get to 52. But currently, the GOP has 38 seats not up for election, another 10 in very safe states and two more that are likely Republican. The Dems have 28 seats not up for election, another 11 safe seats, 4 likely seats, and 4 seats leaning blue, win all of them and you get 47. 3 states have toss up races, win all the toss ups and get to 50, and then if they could score upsets in the 2 likely GOP races, they can get to 52. But the fact is that the Dems will have to perform well just to get 50/50 again and do really well to get to 52. It's sad, but true - the more likely outcome is the GOP taking the Senate, so we really have to get out in these races and vote.

What Mr. Jeffries should have said was "When landlords keep raising rents until tenants start moving out (as a measure of what the market can bear), when grocers raise prices 45% then put everything on sale at 10% off to make it look like families are saving money, we need to address the fact that taxes need to go down for the poor and middle class NOW. Climate change will force taxes to go higher and higher every year as FEMA bails out Florida and Texas. We need fair tax laws NOW."
The reason billionaire donors tell republican candidates to cut Medicare and Social Security is because it would ensure the massive tax cuts we gave to corporations and the rich don’t get reversed. It’s that simple. Follow the money.
The insurance companies are part of the effort to eliminate the support, people with fewer resources receive. Cut Medicare? They're all for it! They want to "protect" the unborn, but rather see that the "born" perish.

Walmart in our area and I think nationally has started to bring down some of the costs of their products. Maybe not quite to pre-pandemic levels but they definitely have come down. I spend about $60 a week on groceries and I get a heck of a lot more now than I did even just a couple of months ago
Except they never needed to raise prices so much in the first place and could lower them more now as well but they don’t want to give up the opportunity.

I love Rep Jeffries..he's awesome! But he realllllllly should learn to just clasp his hands together and LET HIS WORDS and VOICE do the speaking for him - he gestures with almost every word!!!!! We all make fun of Trump and his "accordion hand movements" and Jeffries doesn't realize it, but he does the same thing. And he does NOT need to - his words and statements and knowledge are enough. No matter what he does with his hands, I will be doing the happy dance the day he is elected as Speaker of the House!
I suspect Rep. Jeffries was trained to gesture while speaking. It's part of the reason Trump is so effective. It hypnotizes the stupider people in the audience. Folks who can't understand the words zone out on the gestures. The speaker commands their attention. It makes them feel that the speaker is powerful.

When it comes to medication that is literally *LIFESAVING* , let’s lower the cost for *_EVERYONE_* . It’s enough that some fellow Americans are having to contend with those medical conditions without adding _insult to the injury_ , so to speak.
I would say most of the "waste" comes from inefficiencies in the systems. But I would bet that if anything the military has some of the biggest money leaks.

Military "lost" about 6 billion! Not accounting for it,no record where it went! Just "lost"! I'd start by checking some bank accounts or large,pricey purchases made by people who work with the finances!
@@micheleconner5083 just going off what my Dad said from his time in the military there's a ton of excess spending and wasting of resources.
Like instead of figuring out how much supplies are needed and buying those it's more like: "Just put down that we need 10 of everything otherwise they'll cut our budget". So in order to keep access to funds they'll spend more on what isn't needed which ultimately goes unused at best and thrown out/wasted at worst.
That's just one way at least I know money gets wasted and it's not exclusive to the military

The young guy did not understand his words in English. The engineer just kept getting louder to almost yelling. I went to the engineer and said, “The guy doesn’t understand you, he is not deaf”. When it comes to discussing things with MAGA congress - - - - - - deer in the headlight look!
Greedflation is real. The loaf of bread I buy was $5.35 and always on sale for $3.89. Now, it is $8.20 and never on sale below $6. It's disgusting. And the proposed grocery merger will only make it worse.

The wealthy have been bleeding money and wealth from the bottom 50% since Reagan.
I am old enough to remember the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, which are considered to have been decades of progress by even the Republicans; - - - when the top federal income tax rate never dipped below 70 percent.
But then Reagan's Republican Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981 slashed the rate from 70 to 50 percent, followed in 1986 by the Republican Tax Reform Act of 1986, which dropped the top rate to 28 percent.
NOTE: - contrary to an often-stated Republican trope these tax breaks have NEVER paid for themselves!
The US citizens not in the upper 1 or 2 percent have been paying for these Republican tax cuts!
The result of these Republican tax cuts is easily demonstrated by the below FACTS:
> In the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s the bottom 20% of households owned 4.5% of the wealth in the USA!
> As of 2019, the bottom 50% of households owned only 1.3% of all wealth in the USA.

CORPORATIONS used to pay 70% tax rate and can Deduct 50% IF they give that 50% to NON Profits... thats why we had so many nonprofits around last century!

Finally someone talking about greedflation and shrinkflation! Post pandemic inflation was 90% caused by price gauging, the other 10% was pent up consumer demand. Geopolitics obviously affects inflation too, but it’s more of a tool for greedflation and price gauging than a separate factor.
Eisenhower had a high top tax rate. Reagan cut it to create "trickle down economics"
