Hands down the BEST, REALEST and most authentic review of this movie. I agree it was a solid 7.5, Kingsley Ben-Adair did an AMAZING job portraying Bob Marley. His patwah and the cadence was on point and felt 99.98% authentic. It truly was a good movie but I can’t say it was great because I felt it was cut too short. They could’ve made it 2hrs to 2:15 hours long. I left the theatre wanting more. I would watch it again though. Oh oh oh, the young Bob Marley is Sean Paul’s cousin. He was AMAZING!!! He could’ve played the entire role honestly.
@@jacquelinevirgo8516 I’d give it a B- even a B+. I wanted more, it needed to be longer. They over edited the movie. That’s honestly my biggest qualm about it.
It was short for real, but I found it really authentic I would give it 9. The actors did a Great job. Audience outside of the Jamaica or the Caribbean may have trouble understanding some of it
I saw the movie last night, and let me tell YOU this.....AS A JAMAICAN 🇯🇲...I was proud to backfoot!!! To see our REGGAE ICON, OUR ISLAND, OUR CULTURE, OUR REGGAE MUSIC come alive in the BIG SCREEN!!! MI PROUDNESS BUCK!!!! The movie was WELL DONE! Kingsley did an AWESOME job portraying Bob Marley, which should hopefully get him an Oscar nod!!! They movie could have been a tad bit longer, and I was disappointed they ended it right as he was about to perform at the One Love concert at the National Arena. It was nice to hear our dialect on the big screen, see a throwback of Air Jamaica etc.....The movie was respectfully done!!! For those wanting drama and mix-up...this wasn't it. Beautifully done!!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯👍🏾
I gave this movie a solid 9 ONLY for the fact that I left wanting a longer movie. The actors were phenomenal. For those who haven't seen the movie please do two things; reserve your judgment until after youve viewed the movie and secondly please go watch it in theaters to support the film and what it represents
I felt proud as a Jamaica sitting in the cinema watching my authentic culture on big screen . It was not water dwn. This production felt like any other great biopic that we have seen of any other foreign star. Proud Jamaican couldn't ask for more. We need to be more grateful as Jamaicans.
Right! Couldn't agree more. I felt the same way. And another thing...The beautiful water/beach/sea-side scenery were just breathtaking. The way they describe 'Natural Mystic' in the movie...is the same way it hit me. Just this overwhelming mystique just creeping up on us. Beautiful beautiful beautiful job.. And now, due to the exposure of the movie..even more people will understand the essence of his saying "One Love". Straight from Bob Marley's mouth.. And straight from Bob Marley's beautiful heart❤
And all what you all want to say Hollywood can't play Jamaican culture it's always a Jamaican a real Jamaican has to do it Jamaican indigenous culture only unique to Jamaicans only no body else Hollywood actor and actress only trying to imitate Jamaican and a rubbish Ziggy a talk bout him can't find no body from here them nuh want no body from here them want Hollywood people because them no feel Jamaican is professional so them use Hollywood people fi imitate us and has i also say before the movie it self don't represent the real bob Marley who we know of in real reality because this on the screen movie is something like when you a carry your kids go watch a Sunday martine or a Walt Disney movie this is not the true history of bob Marley this is the sanitize version of bob that them put out to show the world them not going to show the world the real bob Marley who sing song like Rastaman vibration, and music gonna teach them one lesson, and so much trouble in the world, Babylon system is a vampire, and Africa Unite, and Get Up Stand Up, and guiltiness rest on their conscience, war, just to name a few and remember this bob Marley a the same dutty head rastaman who them never count back then when him was alive so them look fi the cleaner side of bob to pretty up things to suit there purpose and ziggy him self looking like him water down him nuh strong like him father so him gos fi anything
Bob married one woman Rita. He wrote "No Woman, No Cry" to comfort his wife while he was away on tour. The song was first recorded in 1974 and has since become one of his most popular and beloved songs. He loved Rita, courted her with letters, married and never divorced her. He might have loved Cindy, but if he lived longer he might have had other loves, because he was not faithful to any woman. It is said that he wrote 2 songs to Cindy "Turn Your Lights Down Low" and "Waiting in Vain”. Yet he had Cindy and another woman pregnant at the same time. He was in relationships with several other women throughout the years. Not all of them became pregnant or had his child. The famouuus Ana Wintour, editor of Vogue Magazine , is said to have disappeared with him for a week; she said she had never actually met Bob, but certainly would have "hooked up" with him if she had. Cindy wants the world to believe that Bob was totally enamored with her. Does she want us to forget that Bob was a serious philanderer? So much so that Damian was not his last child. Ziggy et al told the story about his parents and the history they created in music. Their story is a necessary one to share. If Cindy believes her story is more important, she needs to do her own movie. Bob was a womanizer, and philanderers love no one but themselves. They usually hurt women. And I believe that he hurt Rita, Cindy and some of the many "baby mamas" and mistresses that Bob was involved with.
If Bob had lived longer he would have divorced Rita because they were in a platonic relationship when Cindy entered the picture. Rita had a child during the marriage with Owen Stewart aka Ital Tacky and he's also the father of her daughter Serita Stewart who was born after Bob died. He's her true love and Cindy was Bob's love. Cindy and Rita are not at odds with each other. They both took care if him in the hospital when he wad was sick. Cindy was Special Consultant on the movie. She's on the credits
@@eileenwatt8283. If he loved Cindy, why was he still sleeping around? Why is Damian not his last child? I am dealing with facts, what say you? How do you know that Bob would have divorced Rita? Did he tell you that? Did Bob tell you that Cindy was his true love? Ms Breakspeare has not convinced me that she was his true love. She is not the only woman who has memories with Bob. Rita and other women I am sure have many memories that they could share. So that Birthday wish by Cindy is a cry to prove that she is so “special.”
Best comment! Mi never see people defend being a matey sooo much yet! When did that become a thing? Y'all reallllyy attempting to convince me its not because of her 'class' and colour? 😂. We would NOT be talking about or down on Cindy if she never made such a brazen post, stating the different places Bob 'had' her, so no one is picking on her; she decides each time to be the sore thumb. You all sound delusional talking about what you believe he would have done if he were alive. Unu use a clip of him denying his belief in marriage (which A LOT of artists do/did) to minimize ANY love he would have had for Rita, but turn around and say he would marry Cindy? 😂 Ridiculous. She wasn't the last to have his child and even that woman wasnt his last girlfriend at death. Like, this is where unu really need to admit unu biases, because you all sound absolutely stupid.
What a day I’m having, I saw all the negative chatter on social media and I forgot about this brother, Dutty Berry,Your level of intelligence is on another dimension no body does it better , it’s a class act.
Ben did a great job, man and he does have some caribbean trini roots!! He really immersed himself in the role.. he did really well he brought his fan base to the project as well.
I watched it last night. It was so good. I was so proud. Bob was a global legend, the movie was made for the world, not Jamaica. Kingsley did an amazing job
That is it! People talk about the fact that the accent was not authentic enough. If it was any more Jamaican, it wouldn't be understood by the world, and the message of the movie would be in vain.
Ms. Rita Marley is the QUEEN!! She was with Bob Marley when he was unknown had nothing° All the others came into Bob Marley's life when he was famous . I have a lot of respect for Ms. Rita Marley who is the REAL QUEEN!! BIG UP TO MS. RITA MARLEY!!!
Thank you duttyberry!!, when they make the movie cool runnings it’s about Jamaica, yet no Jamaicans play the team members in the movie, so I don’t know why we can’t just support and move on. I was so embarrassed to see how my fellow Jamaicans was behaving, and yet non Jamaicans were more supportive.
That was how Bob was treated by Jamaicans. It was foreigners who embraces his music. At one time they didn't play his music on the radio station. I have a feeling there will be other Bob Marley movies in the future. This one was from the children prospectives.
When Cool Runnings came out it was at a completely different time, we were just happy that a movie regarding our bobsled team was being made. However, we have moved forward and one of the narratives that we had heard true or not was that Ziggy had said their weren't any qualified Jamaican actors or actors of Jamaican heritage who could play any of the roles. That's very possibly where the frenzy arose before the movie came out.
@@HNB0330 it’s doesn’t matter they were acting very poorly on social media about this movie, unnecessary behavior and people looking at us like we can’t support each other, they did and excellent job with the movie, the fact that people pay to go see it just to criticize it is mind boggling, a lot of people love to follow too much, because others don’t like it they’re doing the same, people need to think for themselves. It’s the same setting with cool runnings, whether it’s old or not, non Jamaicans play the role and did a great job, it’s the same here. A lot of us love to jump on the band wagon of hate too much. Like you said he couldn’t find a suitable actor in Jamaica, at least he tried, I think he did a good job honoring Jamaica, especially with the premiere and everything.
I took my two sons and three of their friends to watch the movie. Their friends are white. They didnt understand the patois much but they enjoyed the movie. They were even singing one love song. That filled my heart with joy. We are all Christians....Kingsley did an excellent job! ....My dad's name is Kingsley too...Kingsley Chambers.
Finally someone with sense. Jamaican talking about using a Jamaican actor but all now mi nuh hear one list a Jamaican actor who should have played the part
ONE LOVE is epic, a new timeless classic on the level of Titanic and Casablanca . Beautiful and Spirituality Meaningful. Lovely movie, make music , not war ... Ja made sure Bob Marley survived to spread God's Love to the whole world . Love for Bob and Ziggie , Love for God giving us joyful rasta music !
Great film, saw it twice already and is flying to Germany to visit family and already have plans to take them to see it. Kingsley did an excellent job Bob. I am hoping that he is nominated or an oscar. The family has the right to choose who they want to play him, and they choose the right person. It worked, the theatre was full and the people were singing along and did not leave until the screen was blank.
The music all through the movie was great, but those 'end of the movie' gems... Man! That will either hold you in your seat until the very last drop... Or meck yuh buss out and drop two foot inna the theatre. That musically commanding quality about Bob came through in the movie for sure.. One ❤Love
Kingsley was phenomenal, I enjoyed every 2nd of the movie. But, like you said, you showed up for BRAND JAMAICA 🇯🇲 & that’s what we should be thinking about.
The movie presents a specific time that represents the dynamicf Bob Marley and the strength and support of Rita Marley through it all… ONE LOVE Indeed!‼️
@@TheDuttyBerryShow Why you all comment on the movie but never mentioned that Cindy was Special Consultant. It's in the credits and Brad Pitt was the executive producer with ZIggy and Sharon as co-producers. Everyone dismissing Cindy but without her input the movie would not have been made. She was the one who was with Bob at the end of his life Look up Owen Stewart aka Ital Tacky, a Jamaican soccer player. He's the father of Rita's child during the marriage and after Bob died she has a daughter Sireta Stewart with him. Rita and Cindy were never at odds with each other. They both cared for him in the hospital when he was sick. Older folks think the movie was not good but the acting was good. We all know alot about Bob, Rita, Owen , Cindy and the others. We are disappointed because they never captured the private side of Bob. He was immature with relationship. I think there will be more Bob Marley movies like how there are several Elvis movies. The Breakspeares and Marleys are cashing in on it as they should.
@@eileenwatt8283 as mentioned the movie in this review there MANY conversations that could be had for this review but the video would never end. I think I touched on most things but it brings the point that for a person as huge as Bob, no o1:45 minute film can fully capture his full life
Talk up di tings dem Dutty Berry, ultimately glad you endorsed the film. The man was GOAT so obviously a 2 hour movie wouldn't have captured all aspects of his life. It was a well executed piece, and the fact that it wasn't predictable is what made it good. I give it a 9.
I went to the theater twice in the USA to watch the movie and it was A+ quality. The movie is #1 in the world! So small minded people need to stop their foolish comments about the movie.
True DuttyBerry I agree with you 100%. I heard people complaining about no Jamaicans in the movie. When I watched it I had goosebumps when I saw my friend Evie and over 6 other Jamaicans. Also I think the actors did their best I give them 8/10 and I left having a higher level of respect for Rita. Bob loved her she was a virtuous woman/Queen.
I am happy to hear you commenting on the things that I appreciated most about the movie. The symbolism... -chef's kiss- Every thing was so intentional and well positioned. I definitely came home and read more articles about events that took place during that time. One of my favourite lines said something about "sometimes the messenger has to become to message." Wow! I'll watch it again just in case I missed anything 🤭 Oh, also my take on the actor. Kingsley was a great external choice. The family (not actors) would have to be very willing to put aside their personal interactions and feelings towards their dad/granddad and get to know Bob throug❤h the lens of everyone else who interacted with Bob. Kingsley did the research and preparation. I enjoy watching all his interviews talking about his process of preparing for this role. Well done to the entire cast & crew. #OneLove
I TOTALLY CONQUER with you Berry....the main characters were almost flawless!!!! Kingsley was supberb!!! I'm very proud...though I want a little bit more. It felt like it ended abruptly...outside of that, I'll watch it again and again. He actually looks like Bob for real. Jamaicans need to realize that Bob was, is and will forever be Global. So if a Chinese did the job as good as Kingsley, I wouldn't have any problem with it. Love it good!!!good!!!
There are a lot of Jamaican people in the movie, it’s a great show. I watched the movie read the autobiography n Rita book too . Brad Pit produced the movie it’s a great film! Big up Ziggy . Proud son of Bob!
I like your commentary and agree but Cindy did not just big up Bob in her post. She was out of order when she mentioned all the places they spent time. That in her statement WAS NOT necessary. We knew she and Bob had a romantic relationship. Whatever changes Rita and Bob had in their relationship does NOT justify Cindy's actions. This woman has other children and has been married at least twice since Bob died. She is getting heat because she is the only ONE who constantly reminds us of their affair.
Excellent Depiction⚡️⚡️Really bringing the characters to life especially Bob & Rita Marley’s ….Telling the true essence of the spirituality of Bob through his work and message ❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
CONGRATULATIONS to u Dutty Berry! The BEST review I have heard so far! Ur expressions are ON POINT, very refreshing and intelligent. I found myself nodding to every word u said in the review. It showed that u "think outside of the box", very " WOKE", unlike some Jamaicans who are very narrow-minded. Keep up the good work! ONE LOVE!❤❤
I think the issue people have with Cindy is that we NEVER hear from Bob’s other baby mothers or his harem of women, only Cindy. She wasn’t even the last baby mother, why she so NUFF? Isn’t the woman on her second marriage? That post was disrespectful and she was trying to slight Rita which is why her children took offence to it. Also, I’m glad to see people finally dragging her, she been too bare faced for decades now. Rita is the wife and we respect her for everything she contributed to Bob Marley and his legacy.
I agree brother, this movie could benefit Jamaica 🇯🇲 greatly by becoming a trailblazer for much more great movies to come. Why so much negativity. I left that movie inspired. I laughed, I cried and reflected in the hopes of seeing more authentic representation of Rasta!
This movie was a tribute to the kids parents, their love for each other, their challenges and Bob's body of work during the political climate at that time. It should remind and inform Jamaicans how close we came to destroying Jamaica and remind us how we rejected Bob and his music. The movie showed that Bob was a flawed man despite his creatve genious. The artist did an amazing job in portraying Rita and Bob and both deserve Oscars along with the movie itself. Remember we rejected Bob and Rita initially and here is the family doing a movie that ultimately is going to affect, yes the family, but Jamaicans and our culture, which could translate into interest on brand Jamaica. Excellent movie!!
It's ironic that so many Jamaicans were mad about the casting when it was the family closest to him who made the choice. And the movie is about Bob wanting to stay away from Jamaica because of how poorly he was being treated in his own country. Some things never change smh
There is nothing bad about Bob Marley he is a great human I knew this as a child he took his time to come to Little Bay All-Age School to teach us how to sing and play music. People need to understand that he was a rasta man who believed in an African way of life where some Africans had more than one woman.
...or was that just an excuse to have many women? If the women agree to this thought then sure but they didn't and neither did Rita, who is also a rasta.
That was his way of life, Delisinz his children are ok with having many brothers and sisters. What can I say, this lifestyle may not be suitable for you or me because we have different beliefs, but who are we to make judgment.
Bwoy tek up the movie analysis role... hands down best review I come across. You hit all the nail dem. I like how u highlight the symbols, the essence of the movie was impartation of culture, etc
I loved the movie Adir was great...Lashan as Rita was excellent....the cinamatography was beautiful...rmbr this was not Bob's lifestory... it was the story of a specific time period as bacground to the narrative...i rhink it highlighred Bob's depth as a true artist...
We Jamaicans are our own enemies, they all dressed up in Sundays best to watch Black Panther in which no Jamaicans were involved Bob has set a stage for us once foreigners hear our accent first thing comes to them Bob Marley, watch the movie as Jamaicans and enjoy feel good and shake the negativity for once
The post wey Cindy mek wid all di places was too much. She could have just wished happy birthday declare her love and leff out all di places dem did Dey. Especially di house dem lived and di mother house.
I loved Lashana's character she did an awesome job. Big up the Actor who performed the Rastafarian Ceremonies I wish I knew his name. He was very impressive makes me want to become a Rasta. It was too short can you imagine if it were longer and had more content.
It was an awesome movie , i don’t like going to the movies , but when i tell you this one I could not miss out on. I loved it from the beginning to the end. Well done . Both the young man and young lady did a fantastic job for presenting both Bob and Rita.
I loved it. Not Jamaican. But Bajan. Absolutely loved the film and thought Kingsley did a phenomenal job. The film is intended to be a high level look at bobs life during a 2 year time period of his life. It’s supposed to introduce Bob to a new generation. I really really pray that they push him during Oscar season and he gets a nomination, because he so deserves it.
For some people, the problem with Cindy is that she is trying to get in on the spotlight now, when what she did was not something to brag about. The other side chicks are not bringing attention to themselves today. Cindy thinks she is entitled - typical of females of her type....
Exactly duttyberry I agree with what you are saying I enjoy the movie and going to watch it again I was very embarrassed of one person who was cursing bad word, about Ziggy Marley, that he sold out Jamaica wow
I live in Toronto, Canada and recently went to see the movie. My parents are Jamaican born. I loved the movie and definitely felt proud. I had to support the movie. Happy that the movie goers were white as well as black. Bob is a hero
The movie was great. I went into the movie with low expectations due to the reviews made by fellow Jamaicans but,I did enjoyed it. Kingsley surprised me. He did GREAT.
Mi seh I agree with you 10000%. I just can't stand the negativity. Kingsley not only did an amazing job, he respects the culture, just listen to his interviews. Sick a dem man!!
Cindy too bright, she moves like she was the only side chick, she was one of many. Till this day her only relevance is sleeping with a married man. Even more so than her Miss Apartied win.
Cindy was Special Consultant on the movie so you all can chat nonsense. Without Cindy's input that movie would never be made. Go look at the credits. Rita also had her man Owen Stewart aka Ital Tacky whom she had one child with during the marriage. Bob gave the child his surname. Rita has Sireta Stewart with Owen after Bob died. You young people who weren't born or live during Bob's time must shut up and stop judging older folks life. Cindy was Bobs true love and Owen was Rita's true live. Bob married Rita because he was coming to America and his friend told her to married her. Rita said in interviews that she didn't want to marry him as she was too young. You all need to sit in a corner.
Live the lady alone a bob did a look her bob don't believe in marriage as much as he have a wife remember he said he don't believe in marriage and he also never keep one woman he has many of them out there first i personally don't believe in it my self because i think marriage is nothing but a ownership shackle and don't want anyone to own me marriage a shackle
@@eileenwatt8283 I think YOU are a mistress or a sidechick this is why you behaving like that question would u have stay with a man who put u through that no
That’s the mother of Damian Junior Gong Marley you are talking about. That’s her contribution and what a contribution he is. Remember that before you run your mouth.
@faithxaas6730, don't mind them. Which other woman, Black or White, has been such a proud skettel in his life? There is pure hypocrisy because she's a pretty White woman who was a beauty queen. Why else with all the Christians in Jamaica (who don't claim Rasta ideas for marriage) support wh0ring woman with zero shame decades later or basic human decency about hurting another woman. And yes, Bob was a bigger wh0re. However, to pretend that she was "just the wife" when people brag about how a matey can never be a wife, but here, she's relegated to the corner. A boasie slave vibe dem a give. I support Black people of all shades and appreciate good people from all races, however, let's not pretend that in Jamaica and everywhere Black people live worldwide, antiBlackness makes people hate the idea of a Black/darkskinned woman with natural ("picky") hair as anyone's ideal. It's the same w/Michelle Obama and there's no evidence of him as a gyallis but there's a narrative seh fi him "true love" a one White woman from university. This is self-hatred. If they could say the same of Malcolm X they would do it. Did he hurt Mama Rita? Absolutely. Did he show some character by adopting his non biological children. Yes. And he should've given what he did. Did he love some of these women? Probably. Was any of them Rita? No. She was integral to who he was from the start. Did they love each other and know each other to a depths others can only imagine? That's for sure. Aside from Imani's mother, everyone else met and were attracted to a star. She was there when he was the red pickney who had a White father whose family rejected him. She affirmed Jah as his father. She was there for duppy attacks. Some of us studied, researched, listened and care more about him and her than a couple of songs. It's surprising that no one points out that proud skettel laughed about an article referring to Bob and her as "Beauty and the Beast". Who really loves a man and is amused to have him- especially a Black/Africana man- called a beast? She loves the attention. Nothing she's done and no-one she's screwed had gotten her this much attention. Love, Joy, Health, Progress, Continued Wisdom and Peace to you in 2024 and beyond, sister Faithxaas6730.
People bashing Cindy because she is a very disrespectful woman. She knew Bob was married and she still slept with him and tried all she could to destroy Rita's marriage. I think you are giving Cindy a pass because she is white. I understand that the colonial mindset is still rampant amongst black people. But it's time we call a spade a spade. Cindy should go and be silent, she is the only side chick that keeps pushing up her shelf as if she is special. She is not special. If she was special Bob would not have had all the other women while with her. And Bob would have divorced Rita. Cindy was just another woman that Bob used. Cindy should be ashamed of herself. Trying to hang on to a dead man's legacy while married to another man. Big up to Miss Rita Marley. And big up to Kingsley and the entire cast of Bob Marley's One Love.
Good job. Much appreciated perspective. I enjoyed the movie and was proud of how they portrayed him and Rita. Ray Ray never belong in this biopic. It would have overshadowed his greatest as a revolutionary.
Well done, great review 👏🏿 the only problem mi have is the dammm mic 🎤 stand 😅😅😅😅😅😅. I really love how you break down the chart of kids & how Cindy comes in the picture. As a musician/ drummer many times i play in bands where 80% of the members don't talk to each other but sold out many concerts high energy & after the show to each is own. And that exactly was what was going on with Bob & Rita. They were apart, but she kept the family and business going. Rita is the real hero & backbone of all of what Bob has going on in present day One Love.
Berry the reason people were on Cindy’s case is not that she was a side chick but she came into view because of a very disrespectful post she made naming places where she spent time with him. It was disrespectful to Rita . She put herself in the way for criticism because she wanted to be seen! Speak the truth I expect that much from you! I agree with everything else you said. Don’t be biased. Bodcova!
@@Marcia-zq1vp correction it wasnt Rita’s main residence but she stayed there with the kids occasionally after Bob purchased it . Cindy also stayed there around the time she was involved with Bob.
She did live on premises in an apartment with her brother which they had rented from Cris Blackwell . When Bob bought it she became his tenant but they weren’t living in the same house.
Right! I left the theatre thinking a lot about Rita. Man, what a rock. She went through a lot. She is a strong woman. And bright beyond just superficial. I couldn't do what she did. I also remember having heard a true story about Bob in England (and otherwise away from her) would call her asking her for help and for 'what he should do.. Because there are women/females at his hotel room door trying to get into his suite. They won't go away and what should he do'??? Bob asking Rita to call the females' rooms and/or do whatever she can to divert and distract them away from Bob's room. Rita is long distance away and having to deal with this. And bob is her *husband!!* That all these women are throwing themselves at.. So she's holding down the fort, keeping and raising the kids.. *AND* protecting and taking care of Bob long distance in the meantime. Also, we can see that/how 'the industry' was after Bob. And Rita noticed it and called it and pointed it out to Bob.. What a *WOMAN!* I didn't like the 'One Draw' song (after Bob's passing). But mi understand it now. Because maybe even I would probably want a 'One Draw' going through all of that. Lol!
@pureenergy5136 listen it broke my heart ❤️ when she said you don't think I know about other women and taking care of your children, oh man, I would have been gone, that's love right there.
@pureenergy5136 I have such respect for her, that incident with women in his hotel and he called her to handle it, she spoke about in years later, I saw a clip of her interview. Food for thoughts why has JA haven't honor Rita and Bob has our national hers. Rihanna just born the other day and her government has bestowed that title on her, what's our government's problem.
Thank you Berry! That’s why I’m subscribed to your channel - you actually have sense👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. They made it seem like no Jamaicans were in the movie but you listed quite a few. I will definitely watch it
Hands down the BEST, REALEST and most authentic review of this movie.
I think 7.5 in real time is like a C…base on what I heard about the movie I would give it a 9 or so
My son took me to see the movie and we love it,we only wish it was longer.
@@jacquelinevirgo8516 I’d give it a B- even a B+. I wanted more, it needed to be longer. They over edited the movie. That’s honestly my biggest qualm about it.
It was short for real, but I found it really authentic I would give it 9. The actors did a Great job. Audience outside of the Jamaica or the Caribbean may have trouble understanding some of it
Yes, Sean P's cousin could have played the entire role. Hence, why didn't he?

I was so ready for cringe time re the Jamaican accent but Kingsley nailed it! Oscar worthy performances 👏🏾 🙌🏾 ❤👏🏾👏🏾 10/10
It’s time for Jamaicans to stop the negativity and catch on to the message of love and unity. This is what is keeping back the progress of Jamaicans.
They trapped in Babylon sorcery
Jamaicans are allowed to have opinions like everyone else
Jamaicans are progressing all day everyday..
Thank you very much!..however it's not only Jamaicans, Caribbean people on a whole. Shame to see and hear our people talk like that.
I supported it because I don’t want anything Jamaican to flop.
💯👏👏👏
Well said!!
Yes, them owe Kingsley Adir an apology!! He did the language justice, he used it correctly, also the whole Jamaican culture.
Mother is from Trinidad
What a day I’m having, I saw all the negative chatter on social media and I forgot about this brother,
Dutty Berry,Your level of intelligence is on another dimension no body does it better , it’s a class act.
Don’t know this guy glad I found him, pure class on a next level
I watched the movie and thoroughly enjoyed it. I found it to be very emotional; proud Jamaican!
Great comment - the movie was made for the world and it definitely reflected that
I thought the movie was good, and I agree it was also a homage to Rita! To show behind every great man there is a woman…nuff respect.
Yes ! Yes! I absolutely loved the depiction of Rita as such a strong and resilient woman representing our Black women ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Excellent movie! Just watched it. 10/10 recommend! The actors did an amazing job!
I agree, Sis!!! 10/10!!!
Bobs story has to be a Netflix series with at least 8 episodes then all the story can be told. I enjoyed watching the movie
I was thinkin the same thing i agree with you,,,,his whole life cant be told in 2hrs,,,a Netflix Series would be a massive success❤💚💛
Goodnight Berry yes them need to give the big actor an apology. The man study Bob I give him 100%
MS. RITA MARLEY IS THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE QUEEN!! ❤❤❤❤
ONE LOVE is epic, a new timeless classic on the level of Titanic and Casablanca . Beautiful and Spirituality Meaningful. Lovely movie, make music , not war
Thanks for this review, Berry. I appreciate your insight and your input. I share some of your views
Loved the movie and the marketing and publicity was superb.
The movie presents a specific time that represents the dynamicf Bob Marley and the strength and support of Rita Marley through it all… ONE LOVE Indeed!‼️
Your review was spot on. I also wished they had captured the funeral since it was one of the biggest the world has ever seen.
Yes! Thnx for watching

Why you all comment on the movie but never mentioned that Cindy was Special Consultant.
I think I touched on most things but it brings the point that for a person as huge as Bob, no o1:45 minute film can fully capture his full life
I watched the movie and wanted more. Kingsley did a great job I felt emotional. Big up Jamaica British. And Lashana, Rita was brilliant 🤩
He did a fantastic job! One Love ❤🇯🇲
Well said Dutty Berry. So proud of you.. Thanks very much for giving your 2 cents. Love every bit of this. Blessings and more blessings. ❤❤❤
Great review Dutty Berry! I always love your honest, and interesting commentary of the movie.
29:23 Imani & Sharon Marley.. both photos show Sharon
yes, didn't catch it
I was saying the same thing to myself. Lol
I took my friend from Ghana to see the movie and we both enjoyed it thoroughly. I gave it an 8! Kingsley was excellent as Bob.
I'll watch it again just in case I missed anything 🤭
Oh, also my take on the actor. #OneLove
Nuff respect @DuttyBerry for such an intelligent review. BOXCOVER!!!
Thank you for explaining this to some of these people who don't seem to understand what this movie is about
I LOVED KINGSLY AND LASHANA TOGETHER THEY DID AN EXCEPTIONAL JOB THEY HAD A CHEMISTRY. YES HE WAS THE STUFF I'M GOING TO SEE IT 2 MORE TIMES.
ONE LOVE!❤❤
Kingsley did a brilliant job👏 .
I never knew this Guy is a genius . He looks so much like Bob Marley. It's lovely 😍 👌.
God bless you all 🙏 ❤️
Cindy is the only one that was flaunting her relationship of Bob Marley to his still living wife
“I can’t sing, I can’t dance, we got a lot work to do.” You got to love Kingsley ❤. Leah Tunkara
I saw it twice , It’s a GREAT GREAT MOVIE
I think the issue people have with Cindy is that we NEVER hear from Bob’s other baby mothers or his harem of women, only Cindy. She wasn’t even the last baby mother, why she so NUFF? Isn’t the woman on her second marriage? That post was disrespectful and she was trying to slight Rita which is why her children took offence to it. Also, I’m glad to see people finally dragging her, she been too bare faced for decades now. Rita is the wife and we respect her for everything she contributed to Bob Marley and his legacy.
I was waiting for you. Well done young man, I love your review 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💖
I agree brother, this movie could benefit Jamaica 🇯🇲 greatly by becoming a trailblazer for much more great movies to come. Why so much negativity. I left that movie inspired. I laughed, I cried and reflected in the hopes of seeing more authentic representation of Rasta!
Trust me the actor for Bob was brilliant
I give this movie 10/10
Well said Dutty Berry.
It was a good movie.
Mi seh mi waan hugg up dutty berry..Berry... he did awesome.... aunty fay and r team did excellent
You're right on par dutty berry i watch it today and i like it nuff respect to the cast watching from Canada 🇨🇦
Excellent 🎥❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Couldn't be better 🎉❤❤❤❤
Kingsley tear it up God bless him
They did a great job 🙏😍🙋
Thanks Berry for the review! Good job!!!
Thanks for watching!
Best review hands down 10/10. Berry you need you own primetime show Pon CVM
It was VERY good. Believable performance and he nailed being a Jamaican
It's ironic that so many Jamaicans were mad about the casting when it was the family closest to him who made the choice. And the movie is about Bob wanting to stay away from Jamaica because of how poorly he was being treated in his own country. Some things never change smh
Was looking forward to your thoughts! I agree with you 💯
There is nothing bad about Bob Marley he is a great human I knew this as a child he took his time to come to Little Bay All-Age School to teach us how to sing and play music.
I’d love to see a movie about Paul Bogle and Marcus Garvey.
I loved the movie Adir was great...Lashan as Rita was excellent....the cinamatography was beautiful...rmbr this was not Bob's lifestory... it was the story of a specific time period as bacground to the narrative...i rhink it highlighred Bob's depth as a true artist...
Well said, can’t please all the people all the time.He did an amazing job and I am going to see it again
Regardless of what anyone says this is the #1 in box office today! That’s a W
Great review Berry 👏 i give the movie 8.5/10 Kingsley Ben Adair 9/10 Lashanna 9/10 👏👏👏
Totally agree
The post wey Cindy mek wid all di places was too much. She could have just wished happy birthday declare her love and leff out all di places dem did Dey. Especially di house dem lived and di mother house.
I didn't realize that he was taller than Bob. He embodied Bob very well
I loved Lashana's character she did an awesome job.
Bob Marley One Love Movie ALL GOOD
I live in Toronto, Canada and recently went to see the movie.
Wonderful movie excellent acting, Oscar worthy Kingsley was superb. Good review Mr Berry!
Berry the best movie review I’ve heard so far. I give the movie a solid 9, I had to watch it twice. The symbolism in the movie 🎥 it was epic.
Love the review Berry, it was very thorough and deep. It something like a literature review.
Berry, I think Cindy is the one keeping bring the relationship up like she is the special one and she did something great job
Yes, she did a great work, she gave birth to her son Jr Gong.
Bodcova!
She lived at the same address as Rita at one point. 🤷🏾♂️ the story is more complicated than the surface. Thanks for watching
@@TheDuttyBerryShowRita and the children never lived at 56 Hope Road.
@@Marcia-zq1vp correction it wasnt Rita’s main residence but she stayed there with the kids occasionally after Bob purchased it . Cindy also stayed there around the time she was involved with Bob.

THE MOVIE WAS SUPERBLY, FANTASTICALLY, MAGNIFICENTLY DONE!!!!
Well said 👏🏽my sentiments exactly!!
I am hoping that Rita will get her show while she is still alive, she was more than a wife
Lol!
She needs a documentary
@pureenergy5136 listen it broke my heart ❤️ when she said you don't think I know about other women and taking care of your children, oh man, I would have been gone, that's love right there.
@pureenergy5136 I have such respect for her, that incident with women in his hotel and he called her to handle it, she spoke about in years later, I saw a clip of her interview. Food for thoughts why has JA haven't honor Rita and Bob has our national hers. Rihanna just born the other day and her government has bestowed that title on her, what's our government's problem.
Dutty look how many women stay with men who don't have anything to offer in any way how dare those persons criticize Rita
Wooieee
Thank you Berry! That’s why I’m subscribed to your channel - you actually have sense👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. They made it seem like no Jamaicans were in the movie but you listed quite a few. I will definitely watch it
